Fig. 4 eine Längsansicht einer Ausführungsvariante der Spüleinrichtung,
Fig. 6 eine Ausführungsvariante eines Spüldornes.
Floss an seinem Ort.

The invention relates to a flushing device for sand filters and carbon filters.
In the case of filters, especially slow filters in drinking water treatment plants, a layer of sand or carbon is used which, however, becomes soiled after a certain operating time, so that such a filter can no longer perform its task satisfactorily.
The aim of the invention is to achieve the object of creating a flushing device for sand and charcoal filters and making them usable again by improving the water permeability of their top layer.
The invention, with which this object is achieved, is characterized in that at least one shell is arranged vertically adjustable on a buoyant structure, in which there are several rinsing mandrels connected to a compressed air and / or rinsing water source, which are provided with outlet openings for the Compressed air and / or the flushing water are provided, and means are available for discharging the cloudy water from the space enclosed by the jacket.
In this way, sand and carbon filters can be made usable again with relatively little effort, without the sand or carbon layer having to be removed.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a longitudinal section through the flushing device in a schematic representation.
FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the flushing device according to FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 is a view with partial section of an individual rinsing mandrel.
4 shows a longitudinal view of an embodiment variant of the flushing device,
FIG. 5 shows a plan view of the flushing device according to FIG. 4,
6 shows a variant of a rinsing mandrel.
The flushing device is located on a ship or raft which contains two floating bodies 1, 2 arranged parallel to one another and which floats on a filter basin or the like. The cleaning device 3, which is described in more detail below, is arranged between these two floating bodies 1, 2. This contains a square or round jacket 4 provided with vertical walls, which is pressed from above into a sand or coal layer 12 located below a water layer 11. In the interior of this jacket 4 there are several rinsing mandrels 5, which form one or more parallel rows or can be arranged in a circular or spiral shape.
The rinsing mandrels 5 are set up either for the common supply of compressed air and rinsing water (FIG. 3) and for this purpose are connected to a rinsing water distributor pipe 6 and to a compressed air distributor pipe 37, or there are separate sets of rinsing mandrels 42 for rinsing water and Compressed air (Fig. 6) available.
The compressed air distribution pipe 37 is connected to an air pump 40 via a pipe 7. The flushing water distributor pipe 6 is connected to a flushing water pump 39 via a pipe 38.
In the upper area of the jacket 4 there are two containers 8 which are partially immersed in the water. On one side there is a pump 9 for sucking off the cloudy water from both containers. This is passed through a sewage pipe 10 into a cleaning system which is arranged outside the floating structure. The containers 8 have a V-shape in cross-section and have overflow edges 34 at the top. In the lowered state of the flushing device, the overflow edges 34 are located below the upper casing edge 35 but above the water level outside the casing 4.
A frame 14 protrudes upward from the floating bodies 1, 2, at least two of which are connected to one another by a horizontal strut 15. A hoist 16 is attached to this horizontal strut 15. with which the cleaning device 3 can be raised or lowered.
During the actual flushing process, the ship or raft remains in place. When a next area of the sand or coal layer 12 is to be flushed, the cleaning device 3 is first lifted over the sand or coal layer 12 with the aid of the hoist 16 and then the ship or raft is moved forward along a rope 17 with the help of a hand crank 19 or moved backwards. The rope 17 is fastened to the edges of the pool or the like by anchoring members 18.
The horizontal strut 15 protrudes on both sides over the ship or raft 1. 2. so that the cleaning device 3 can also be attached at the front or rear if the outermost or innermost edge area of the sand layer is to be rinsed, as explained in more detail in connection with FIGS. 4 and 5.
In Fig. 3, a single rinsing mandrel is partially for the common supply of rinsing water and compressed air in the same mandrel
Section shown. It contains an outer cylinder 22 and an inner tube 23 located inside. In between there is an annular cavity 28 which is in flow connection with a compressed air supply line 33. In the lower area of the outer cylinder there are several approximately radially directed bores 29 for the compressed air to exit. Furthermore, in the tip 30 attached at the bottom, there are several upwardly directed openings 24 distributed around the circumference for the flushing water outlet, which are connected to the central bore 31 in the inner tube 23. Furthermore, a downwardly opening central bore 25 is present in the tip 30.
With the help of the threaded attachment 26, the rinsing mandrel 5 is screwed to the distributor pipe 6, which in turn is connected to the rinsing water pump 39 via a pipe 38.
6 shows a rinsing mandrel to which either only rinsing water or only compressed air is fed. There are thus two different sets of rinsing spikes for these two media, each of which is connected to a respective supply line. In the interior of the hollow cylindrical jacket 43 there is a check valve 44 with a spring 45 and a valve seat 46. From the distributor space 47, several radial bores 48 open outwards. The lower end is also designed as a tip 49.
4 and 5 show an embodiment variant in which a flushing device 3 is arranged at the front and rear of the ship or raft. There are height-adjustable feet 36 here. which can be brought to bear against the surface of the sand or carbon layer 12. A scaffold 14 is provided at the front and rear for attaching the hoist. Otherwise, the function corresponds to that of the embodiment described in FIGS. 1-3.
The mode of operation of this flushing device is as follows:
With the lowering of the jacket 4 into the sand or coal layer 12, the flushing mandrels 5 also penetrate into the topmost sand layer 12, which has to be cleaned and loosened. Afterwards, compressed air is supplied to the rinsing mandrels 5. which flows out through the openings and thereby loosens the sand or coal from below. Rinsing water is then pressed through the openings 24 and 25. The water that rises from the bottom to the top in the sand layer pulls the impurities upwards. As a result of the flushing water supply, the water level in the interior of the casing 4 rises up to the overflow edges 34 of the containers 8, which are V-shaped in cross section. whereupon the cloudy water overflows into this and is discharged with the pump 9 via a pipe 10 and then cleaned.
After the flushing process is complete, the supply of flushing water is interrupted, the cleaning device 3 is pulled up and then the ship or raft is moved with the aid of the hand crank 19 and the cleaning device 3 is set down at a subsequent location. whereupon the process is repeated.
