The invention relates to an arrangement for fastening grooved boards on a base, in particular for cladding walls and ceilings, with fastening chambers that hold the grooved boards and are invisible from the outside.
The paneling belts that are commonly used to cover ceilings and walls, which are laterally provided with a groove and a comb, can be attached directly to the base or to a wooden backing attached to the base by nailing in the groove or comb. This work requires great craftsmanship, and the groove or comb will be damaged by the nail hole. If it is not carried out properly, there is a risk of the boards splitting. Any later removal of the panel is also associated with difficulties.
The panel straps can, however, also be held in place by known fastening hooks which engage in the panel belt groove. These fastening hooks are then in turn nailed to the wooden base. With this type of installation, the paneling belt is not damaged by the nail hole, and the demands on manual dexterity are lower than with direct nailing.
Due to the rigid fastening, however, insufficient account is taken of the elasticity of the wood, so that in unfavorable climatic conditions the cladding cannot move and adjust enough.
For this reason, laterally grooved support slats have also been proposed, into which the fastening hooks provided with a U-shaped profile piece can be inserted loosely and without being nailed up.
It has been shown, however, that the last-mentioned fastening hooks are unsatisfactory because they fall off easily, especially when cladding ceilings.
It is now the object of the invention to create a fastening arrangement of the type mentioned, which allows a simple and quick attachment of grooved boards to a base without nailing, in which the natural expansion and shrinkage of the wood is not prevented and the fastening clamps are not prevented during assembly fall off.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that a wooden backing lath has an undercut longitudinal groove, that a protruding edge is arranged on at least one of the lath edges and that the clip is hooked into the groove by means of a bend and surrounds the edge with a bend.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show it:
1 shows a view with partial section of a fastening clip snapped into a support slat,
FIG. 2 is a plan view of the clamp and the lath according to FIG. 1,
3 shows a cross section through the clamp and the lath according to FIG. 1,
FIG. 4 shows a longitudinal section through the clamp and the lath according to FIG. 1, with two assembled paneling boards being shown.
5 shows a longitudinal section through a further embodiment of a clamp with lath and paneling boards,
Fig. 6 shows a cross section through a slat with a dovetail groove and a snap-in fastening clip, and
7 shows a cross section through a slat which serves as a base frieze.
The fastening arrangement consists of a wooden slat 1, which is mounted on the base to be covered, for example a wall or ceiling, and a fastening bracket 2 attached to the slat 1 for holding the covering. The slat 1 has an undercut groove 3 on its front side, and one of its longitudinal edges 4 is provided with a protruding edge 5.
The fastening clip 2 is expediently punched out of thin, flexible sheet metal and bent into a U-shape. It has a rectangular base plate 6 intended to rest on the lath 1 with a bending edge 7 running at right angles to the groove 3, to which a vertical web 8 connects, the extension of which is bent at right angles and forms a cover plate 9 arranged parallel to the base plate 6.
The base plate 6 also has a bend 10 on one longitudinal side, which faces the base and forms an acute angle with the base plate 6 such that the bend 10 can be hooked into the undercut groove 3. On the side opposite this side, a bend 11 facing the base is provided on the base plate. In a first embodiment of the metal clamp 2, the bend 11 is semicircular or S-shaped and can be pressed resiliently over the protruding slat edge 5, which it then encompasses. In another embodiment of the clamp 2, the bend 11 is only produced on site by hand by bending a protruding part of the base plate 6. A suitable tool can also be used for this operation.
After the fastening clamp 2 has snapped into the lath 1, the clamp is pushed against an already attached groove board 12a, so that the groove cheek 13 of the groove board 12a facing the base comes to lie between the cover plate 9 and the bottom plate 6 and is held by the clamp. The comb 14 of a subsequent grooved board 12b can then be pushed into the groove 15 of the preceding grooved board 12a.
It has proven to be expedient to attach one or two mandrels 161 to the cover plate 9 in a manner known per se, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, in order to better secure the two grooved boards 12a, 12b against one another.
In order to give the grooved boards 12a, 12b a good hold, the web 8 and cover plate 9 of the clamp can be longer than the base plate 6.
Instead of being U-shaped, the fastening clip 2 can also be constructed in the shape of a staircase, as shown in FIG. 5.
6 shows a symmetrical support lath 16 with a dovetail groove 17 and edges 5 protruding on both sides. This has the advantage that the fastening clip 2 can be snapped into place in such a way that either one or the other edge is encompassed by the bend 11, according to the desired type of assembly of the grooved boards. It is therefore no longer necessary to provide left and right brackets, since a single type of bracket meets all requirements.
In the case of a further base lath 18, which also serves as the lower base frieze of a wall surface, the front side of a lower part 19 of the lath is visible from the outside. The lath 18 has a shoulder 20 which is arranged parallel to the undercut groove 3 and which serves as a stop during the assembly of the grooved boards and secures the paneling boards in the clamp holder against slipping.
With the present arrangement, paneling straps can be laid quickly and easily on walls and ceilings without the boards being damaged by nail holes. After mounting the battens at suitable intervals, the clips can be pressed onto the battens and the paneling boards can also be attached without any special manual skills being required. The expansion and contraction of the cladding is taken into account and the paneling straps can also be removed later without any problems. Since the panel straps are not damaged, they can be reused without reservation.
