Abstract
The foot support for a disabled or infirm person designed to prevent the foot from bending over sideways, has an upholstered ring (1) which fits around the leg immediately below the knee. This has two plates attached, one (2) at the front, and one (3) at the side, each with a hook (4, 5) projecting from it. A side strap (9) has to extensions (7, 8) forming a fork at the bottom, secured to two anchorages on the shoe. This has a set of holes (10) at the top for the hook (5). a front strap (13) of resilient material is similarly attached by a piece (12) to the toe cap of the shoe (6). this similarly has holes (15) for the front hook (4). The two sets of holes enable the strap tension to be adjusted.
Description
The subject of the invention is a shoe with a walking aid device for partially paralyzed people. People with walking difficulties are often able to move relatively well with the help of a stick.
However, if the lateral leg muscles are impaired, it is very easy to step on the edge of the foot and step over the foot, which almost always results in the disabled person falling. The shoe according to the invention with a walking aid device is intended to remedy this disadvantage, which often hinders the partially paralyzed person more than would correspond to their actual disability. According to the invention, the shoe is characterized for this purpose in that a retaining ring to be attached over the calf on the leg of the wearer has a hook on the outside or inside of the leg, and that an inflexible tension cord is attached to the corresponding side of the shoe, which is in different Lengths on the hook of the retaining ring can be hung to prevent the foot from tilting sideways.
In order to support the lifting of the tip of the foot when walking, an elastically flexible tension cord can also be attached to the toe cap of the shoe, which can be attached to a hook provided on the front of the retaining ring.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in the position of use.
A padded retaining ring 1 made of rigid material is detachably attached to the leg of the wearer over the calf. On the outside of the leg as well as on the front of the leg, the ring has a fitting 2, 3 with a hook 4, 5. On the shoe 6, two short pieces of strap 7 and 8 are attached to the outside of the upper leather by means of rivets, which are all in common Continue the same belt 9, which is provided with a number of hanging holes 10 with eyelets.
For use, after the wearer has put on the ring 1 and shoe 6, the strap 9 is grasped at the tip 11 and hooked into the hook 5 with a suitable hole.
By choosing the hole 10, the pulling effect can be adjusted as desired and necessary while walking.
In the example shown, a tab 12 is also riveted to the shoe cap and is connected to a belt 14 via an elastic drawstring 13. The belt 14 also has a number of holes 15 provided with eyelets. In an analogous manner, the toe of the shoe can now be connected to the retaining ring 1 via this tension cord by inserting the belt 14 with one of the holes 15 in the hook 4 depending on the desired elastic tensile force is hung. This device can help people with walking disabilities, whose flexor muscles are weakened, to raise the tip of their feet while walking.
Depending on the requirements, the belt system 7, 8, 9 can be used on the inside or outside of the foot.
Likewise, the elastic pulling device 12, 13, 14 can be omitted. Both traction systems can be continuously adjusted as required and can be worn largely invisibly under the trouser leg.
