The present invention relates to a device for regulating the pouring amount of liquid metal from a casting container with a stopper closure whose stopper rod is connected to a lever system.
Stopper closures on pouring containers are known and serve to allow liquid metal to flow out of a pouring tank without the pouring tank having to be tilted.
In this context, a stopper closure for a pouring container is known (DT-PS 2 124 747); in which a lever system carrying the stopper rod is provided with a stop part, to which a stop which determines the stopper stroke can be applied when actuated by a lifting device and which can be adjusted as a function of time by a sequence control in a position corresponding to a predetermined pouring amount desired stopper stroke requires extensive facilities which, arranged in the area of the pouring container, are subject to severe wear and are therefore very costly.
The invention is based on the object of designing a device of the type described at the beginning so that the stopper rod can be reliably adjusted using simple, robust means and an adjustment of the stopper stroke adapted to the operating requirements can be ensured and the stopper rod can automatically be brought into its closed position in the event of a power failure of the lifting drive .
This object is achieved by means of the teaching specified in the characterizing part of the patent claim
Embodiments of the invention are described in the claims under.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.
The device shown shows a pouring container 1 with a nozzle body 2 inserted in its bottom, which has a pouring nozzle 3, the nozzle body 2 forming a stopper closure 4 together with a profiled stopper nose 5 of a stopper rod 6. The upper end of the stopper rod 6 is partly connected to a carrier 9 of a lifting bracket 10 via a bracket 8 threadedly connected to the stopper rod 6, and partly guided by an adjustable bearing 11 attached to the lifting bracket 10. The lifting bracket 10 is connected in an articulated manner to levers 12 and 13 which are known per se and are arranged in the form of a parallelogram and which are held pivotably by a carrier 14. The carrier 14 is detachably connected to the casting container 1 via a spacer element 15.
At the same time, the spacer element 15 has the task of creating a possibility for setting the actuating device with respect to the position of the stopper rod 6.
While one lever 12 has one arm, the other lever 13 has two arms. The one lever arm 16 of the two-armed lever 13 is here arched on the upper longitudinal side 17. A driver element 18, which is connected to a lifting device 19 in an adjustable manner, engages on this curved longitudinal side 17. The lifting device 19 itself is pivotably mounted in a boom 20 of the carrier 14 by means of a pivot pin 25. The curvature of the longitudinal side 17 corresponds to the pivot radius 21 of the lifting device 19 pivoting about the hinge axis 25 and the driving element 18. The operating mode of the lifting device 19 is provided pneumatically, but can also be hydraulic or electric.
In order to change the distance 23 of the driver element 18 from the pivot axis 24 of the lever 13 within a predetermined adjustment path 22, an adjustment device 26 is attached to the lever 13. This adjusting device 26, which is operated hydraulically, has a connecting piece 28 which is articulated on its piston rod 32 and which is connected in an articulated manner to the entrainment member 18. The adjusting device 26 can, however, also be operated pneumatically or electrically.
One end of a spring element 29 is hinged to the lever arm 27, the other end of which is connected to an adjusting device 30, for example an adjusting screw, by means of which the tensioning force of the spring element 29 can be adjusted.
To support the adjustment device 30 is on the carrier
14 a console 31 is attached.
The effective direction of the tensioning force of the spring element 29 corresponds to the closing direction of the stopper closure, the tensioning force set being dimensioned according to the required closing force of the stopper 6. The intended direction of action simultaneously ensures that the stopper closure 4 closes reliably in the event of a power failure of the lifting drive. An electrical system (not shown) based on a control circuit with zero adjustment is provided to control the lifting drive.
Instead of the electrical system provided for control, such a system can also be formed with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical or a combination of such control elements.
By changing the distance 23, a change in the lever ratio of the lever arm 27 to the lever arm 16 and thus the points of application of the movement is achieved, resulting in the same stroke of the lifting device
19 the stopper stroke can be changed.
Using the change in the lever ratio to influence the stopper stroke, other designs are also possible, for example with a lever system formed from several one-armed levers in the shape of a parallelogram, in which at least one lever is connected to a stroke drive.
The dimensioning of the adjustment path 22 is determined by the maximum required stopper stroke by which the position of the stopper rod 6 in relation to the stopper closure and thus in relation to the outlet cross-section is influenced. The exit cross-section is the annular surface formed between the stopper nose 5 and the pouring nozzle 3. Since, on the one hand, the dimensions of the casting container are known and, on the other hand, the outflow can be determined experimentally and / or technically as a function of the level 7 and the outlet cross-section, which in turn depends on the stroke of the stopper nose 5 if the pouring nozzle 3 is known, there is no difficulty in using the adjustment device 26 with simple electrical and / or mechanical control means that meet the practical requirements in the casting operation.
For example, a constant outflow independent of the current level 7 or a larger outflow at the beginning of the pouring process with subsequent throttling or an interruption of the outflow or an outflow between two limit values can be selected.
The operation of the system described is that liquid metal is fed through a filling opening (not shown) up to level 7 to the pouring container 1 and kept under lock and key by means of the stopper 4 formed from the stopper rod 6 and the pouring nozzle 3. A pressure medium, for example compressed air or pressure oil, is fed to the lifting cylinder of the lifting device 19 and this exerts a force in the sense of a movement on the lever arm 16 of the lever 13 in connection with the lever 12 and the lifting console 10 on the stopper rod 6 via the driver element 18 off, whereby the stopper closure 4 is opened according to the distance 23 of the entrainment member 18 selected by the adjusting device 26.
For a casting process, the adjusting device 26 is inputted control pulses, whereby the stopper rod 6 is moved in accordance with the position of the driver element 18 on the lever arm 16 in the course of the lever actuation.
The advantages achieved with the invention are, in particular, that precisely metered outflow quantities of liquid metal and a precisely directed pouring stream can be achieved. It is also possible, when the level of the liquid metal drops, to take a practically constant amount of the liquid metal per unit of time from the casting container.
