Abstract
An output capacitor delivers a charge to a transistor in series with the ignition device so that the latter is actuated when the control signal reaches a given level. An oscillator charges this capacitor by means of a clock signal under the control of a timing device. The charging circuit has a time constant giving a given delay until the capacitor charge reaches the required level. A frequency divider fed by the clock signal gives an ignition pulse after a delay proportional to the frequency of the clock signal divided by the number of steps of the frequency divider. The circuit includes a Zener diode to calibrate the output pulses of the frequency divider.
Description

The main patent relates to an electronic ignition device for a pyrotechnic charge, comprising a firing capacitor, the charge of which is applied to an electric primer via a semiconductor element with controlled conductivity. characterized in that it comprises an oscillator, the output signal of which constitutes at the same time the supply of a charging circuit of the capacitor, and a clock signal available to ensure a delay of the firing of the primer .
The present invention relates to an interesting modification of the device according to the main patent.
According to this modification, the oscillator providing the charge of the capacitor is an oscillator providing a sawtooth voltage.
The single figure of the appended drawing represents, by way of example, the diagram of an embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention.
In this device, the adjustable frequency generator I supplies a sawtooth voltage on line 2. The latter is connected, on the one hand, to a charger 3 for a capacitor Ci0 and, on the other hand, to a trigger 4 for shaping the received signal. At the output 5 of this trigger, a signal of rectangular shape and of frequency corresponding to that of generator 1 is obtained. This rectangular signal is applied by an impact contactor 6 to the input of a counter 7 and to a terminal To of a switch T. This counter consists of a divider having several outputs corresponding to several dividing factors and connected to the pads T1, T2 and T3 of the switch T.
This switch makes it possible to connect the desired pad to the control electrode of a unijunction transistor V1 which is programmable using a resistor R and a capacitor C11. By varying the value of these last two elements, it is possible to determine the voltage for which the transistor becomes conductive in the absence of a signal on its control electrode.
Thus, knowing the voltage rise curve of the Clo capacitor, it is possible to adjust the duration from which the transistor will automatically become conductive and discharge the Clo capacitor in an electric fuse 8.
Finally, a Zener diode 9 is provided between the switch T and the control electrode of the transistor V1 to prevent inadvertent ignition of the latter by induced voltages. For this purpose, the Zener diode 9 has a critical voltage a little lower than the output voltage of trigger 5 and of counter 7.
The impact contactor 6 can be constituted by a simple switch, one of the movable contacts of which is brought into the closed position upon impact. However, it is clear that other means could also be used to control the ignition of the pyrotechnic charge and that this impact switch 6 could very well be replaced by a magnetic transducer of the type described in the patent. main.
