Abstract
The charge is discharged so that the granules are formed by the centrifugal force exerted on it. Alternatively to an inert atmos. or gas, the atmos. may be the original air inside the vessel, with the oxygen content reduced by the heating action. The prod. is suitable for filters, shot blasting or peering, grinding, or mfr. of special components based on powder or granules. The system is cheaper than other processes using a rotary vessel and gives a good method of controlling the particle size by controlling the speed of rotation of the vessel. The system gives a more regular particle size than systems using a water jet, and there is less chemical reaction on the molten metal and reduced oxidation.
