The object of the present invention is a machine tool intended to machine a surface of revolution concentric with a reference axis on a reworked part.
A certain number of machines are known which have been specially designed to allow the recovery of a part with a view to carrying out additional machining thereon, for example milling, turning or grinding using a grinding wheel. In known machines, intended for mass production, the principle of the transfer machine is generally used, making it possible to circulate, opposite different work tools, feed device, milling device, measuring device, device. of unloading, the part taken back.
Generally, the transfer device is constituted either by a turntable, so that the grippers supporting the part move at a determined angle in order to come opposite the various workstations, or by a transfer chain generally animated by a translational movement and also passing opposite the various machining stations.
All these types of known machines are generally designed in order to offer a certain flexibility as to the use, particularly as regards the workstations (their definitions, milling, turning, etc., and their arrangements) in order to be able to combine these, in relation to the types of parts, as well as to the different operations to be carried out, which are not necessarily always the same.
This type of machine does not make it possible to optimize the manufacture in very large series of parts requiring practically a always similar operation, and this, particularly because of the size of these known machines, the relatively high mass of certain moving elements, and above all due to the fact that it is not possible to reduce as much as possible certain operations independent of the machining time proper.
In order to obviate these drawbacks and to allow the recovery of a part intended to be machined, at a very high rate, the period of which is very close to the actual machining time, the machine, according to the invention , is characterized by the fact that it comprises a feed device, two twin gripper headstocks, a machining device, capable of moving transversely with respect to the reference axis in order to alternately allow unloading and rune loading of the gripper dolls while the machining device is working opposite the other gripper doll.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of a machine tool according to the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are respectively, in profile and in plan, general schematic views.
Figs. 3 and 4 represent, respectively, the loading function and the unloading function, when the machining device is working opposite the clamp A.
In fig. 5, we also note the power supply functions at the particular instant during which the machining device is working opposite the clamp B.
In fig. 1, note the frame I supporting the store 2 consisting of a vibrator in which the parts are arranged in bulk and brought opposite a distributor which periodically allows the transfer to the loader 2.2 integral with a feed slide 2.1 mounted on the transverse slide 3 carrying the two collet holder heads 3.A and 3.B. A loading arm 2.3 periodically takes a part and accommodates it in one or the other of the grippers of one or the other of the gripper-carrying dolls.
A longitudinal slide 1.1 carries the machining device 4 by means of a transverse slide 4.2 allowing adjustment of the shaft of the machining device comprising, in the example described, a grinding wheel, in order to properly center that here as a function of the axis XX ′ determining the desired rectification with respect to the part carried by one of the clamp holder dolls.
In fig. 2, we find the frame 1 with the slide 1.1 supporting on the one hand the machining device 4 and on the other hand, the transverse slide carrying the collet holder heads 3.A and 3.B with, above, the feed slide 2.1, loader 2.2, loading clamp 2.3 and unloading clamp 2.4.
The machine is designed so that, in the position described in fig. 1 and 2, the machining device works opposite the axis X.X 'of a hollow in the part carried by the collet headstock 3.A.
While the machining is carried out, the unloading clamp 2.4 moves opposite the axis of the collet holder headstock 3.B in order to unload the part which can be either ejected and deflected according to a slide leading to a recovery tank, or taken in an unloading clamp and manipulated in order to be placed in a complementary loader. When this operation is completed, the loading gripper 2.3 takes a part from the loader and disposes it opposite the gripper 3.B which encloses the latter. The loading arm can then take up a neutral position, the collet headstock 3.B then being loaded and ready to be moved opposite the machining device. All these operations are carried out in the time required for the machining function which is carried out in parallel on the part carried by the collet headstock 3.A.
When machining is finished, the machining device releases the tool and immediately the transverse slide moves, the loading slide itself also moving relative to the transverse slide, so that the axis of the collet holder spindle 3.B comes opposite the machining device and the loading device moves so that the unloading and loading clamps can work opposite the collet holder headstock 3 .A.
In fig. 3, we notice facing the workpiece, the frame 1, the longitudinal slide 1.1, the collet holder headstock 3.A, carried by the transverse slide 3, above which is the feed slide 2.1 with the loader 2.2 in which there are at least two spare parts, so as to be able to serve the loading arm 2.3 which can be seen precisely while it is loading the gripper 3.B, the unloading arm 2.4 then being cleared.
In fig. 4, we still find the collet holder headstock 3.A opposite the machining device, but the loading arm 2.3 is placed opposite the loader 2.2 in order to take a part, while the unloading arm 2.4 is located at look at the collet holder headstock 3.B so that the ejected part is deflected opposite the slide 6 and slides into the drip tray 7.
In fig. 5, we again notice the main frame 1 carrying the machining device 4 which is then centered relative to the axis of the collet headstock 3.B in order to perform the machining of the part carried by that -this. In this position, the transverse slide 3 is moved to the left so that the feed slide 2.1 has the feed charger 2.2 facing the outlet of the magazine 2, so that the feed loader is loaded. completed. During the same period of time, the feed arm 2.3 feeds the headstock 3.A, while the unloading arm 2.4 is in the rest position.
This embodiment is described by way of example. It goes without saying that it is possible to modify the design of the machine in order to obtain identical relative movements, particularly as regards the relative movement of the two gripper headstocks with respect to the machining device, as well as to the device. feed, also relative to the machining device. It is possible to design, according to the same principles, a machine in which the two gripper headstocks are rigidly mounted on the frame, while the machining device is carried by a transverse slide, while the feed device, at least in its intermediate part concerning the intermediate loader and the loading and unloading arms, may also be integral with a feed slide moving transversely with respect to the frame.
These embodiments are especially interesting by the fact that they require a relatively small footprint for the device ensuring the pairing of the two gripper headstocks and, therefore, also a relatively small displacement of the translation necessary in order to bring the one or the other of the clamp holder dolls facing the machining devices. Finally, the feed device is also simplified by the fact that it comprises a single feed magazine and a single loading device.
It emerges from all these peculiarities that one obtains not only a machine tool capable of working very quickly, but that the downtime independent of the machining time is reduced to a minimum. In practice, it is possible, by equipping the machine with a view to rectifications, to obtain a machining time of more than 90% of the time of the period for one cycle.
Finally, both in terms of production and that of maintenance or adjustment, the fact of using simple, easily achievable and adjustable elements ensures very high reliability for this type of machine.
