C-D in Fig. 1,
The invention relates to a chamber filter plate for filter presses.
Such filter plates were previously cast in one piece from metal. They are therefore heavy and also have the disadvantage that they are unsuitable for certain liquids to be filtered because of their tendency to corrode.
The invention is based on the object of improving filter plates of the type mentioned at the beginning.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the plate consists of two flat molded parts formed from fiber-reinforced plastic, which support one another and whose surfaces facing one another enclose cavities between them.
On the one hand, the new filter plate is lighter than the known metal filter plates because of the use of fiber-reinforced plastic. On the other hand, the new plate is lighter because of the enclosed cavities, so that it is more cost-effective to manufacture because of the lower material expenditure and can also be transported and handled with less expenditure of force. Because of the use of plastic, the new plate is also more corrosion-resistant, so it can be used for practically all types of liquids to be filtered.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the two molded parts are of identical design. This design makes it possible to produce the molded parts in one and the same mold, so that the investment outlay for producing the plates is relatively small.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail in the following description with reference to the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 is a view of the inside of a flat molded part, as it is used to build a chamber filter plate according to the invention,
2 and 3 each show a section through a plate composed of two molded parts according to FIG. 1, corresponding to the line A-B and C-D in FIG. 1,
Fig. 4 is a section through the plate, corresponding to the line E-F in Fig. 1,
Fig. 5 is a section through the plate, along the line G-H in Fig. 1, and
6 shows a section through the plate, corresponding to the line I-K in FIG. 1.
According to Fig. 1, which shows the lower right quarter of a molded part 1, the outer outline of the molded part 1 - apart from the hook-shaped projection 2 - is square and symmetrical with respect to the intersection lines A-B and C-D. In the center of the molded part 1 there is a round opening 3 which widens conically towards the outside of the molded part (FIG. 3). On the outside of the molded part 1, it is provided with a flat edge 4 running all the way round. In each quarter of the molded part 1, a circular elevation 5 is provided on the outside, which extends to the level of the flat edge 4 (FIG. 4). The remaining surface of the outside of the molded part is set back with respect to the edge 4 and the projection 5 and is provided with a corrugation 6 (FIGS. 2 and 3).
The described design of the outside of the molded part 1 corresponds essentially to the previously known design of the surface of filter plates made of metal.
On the inside of the molded part 1, sleeve-shaped projections 7 are provided distributed over the entire surface, which are made in one piece with the wall of the molded part. The inside of the molded part 1 is also provided with a narrow edge 8 running over the entire outline, which ends at the same height as the sleeve-shaped projections 7 (FIGS. 2 and 3). Each filter plate is composed of two molded parts 1 according to FIG. 1, which are designed the same among themselves. When two molded parts are assembled, the edges 8 and the end faces of the sleeve-shaped projections 7 come to rest on one another, so that cavities 9 are enclosed between the opposing surfaces of the two molded parts.
Each molded part 1 consists of fiber-reinforced plastic and is produced using the so-called high-pressure hot-pressing process in a correspondingly designed molding tool.
So-called thermosetting plastics are used as plastic, for example epoxy resins and unsaturated polyester resins.
Glass fibers are primarily used for fiber reinforcement. The two molded parts 1 can be permanently connected to one another, for example, by gluing the surfaces of the projections 7 and the edges 8 in contact with one another by means of an adhesive.
In order to avoid mutual displacement of the two molded parts when they are assembled to form a plate, the molded parts 1 are provided on the inside with centering edges 11, 12 (FIG. 5) which are annular and interlock concentrically. Such centering edges are provided in triplicate in each quarter and they protrude slightly from the end faces of the sleeve-shaped projections 7. In order to ensure that the molded parts are designed in the same way with regard to the centering edges and thus only one molding tool is required for the production of the molded parts, the arrangement of the centering edges is such that it is a mirror image of the cutting line C-D. This means that in the lower left quarter, not shown, of the molded part 1 according to FIG. 1, three centering edges 11 with the larger diameter are provided.
The same applies analogously to the arrangement of the centering edges in the two upper quarters of the molded part according to FIG. 1.
To use the plates, several plates are combined into a stack, the edges 4 and the elevations 5 being pressed against one another. A chamber 16 (FIGS. 3 and 6), which is delimited by the flat edges 4, is then created between two plates.
In Fig. 6 the formation of the plate in the area of the drive to or the discharge of the liquid to be filtered or the filtered liquid is shown. For example, a through hole 13 is provided in the widened edge of the plate, which is connected to a through hole 15 via a channel 14 directed approximately towards the center of the plate and which opens into the two chambers 16 delimited by the edges 4. The other three corners of the plate are designed accordingly, so that there are two holes 13 for the supply and two holes for the discharge per plate.
Instead of gluing, the two molded parts can be connected to one another by screw bolts, whereby 8 grooves can be provided in the adjacent edges into which sealing rings are inserted. Corresponding seals are then also to be provided in the area of the holes 13 and 15 and the connecting channel 14.
Another way of sealing and connecting two molded parts is to fill the cavities in the edge areas of the plate with plastic foam.
Instead of the centering edges 11, 12, it is also possible to provide the edges 8 alternately with protruding, spring-like sections which protrude into correspondingly arranged grooves in the edge of the other molded part.
