Many hangars are equipped with very large doors allowing the entry and exit of large objects such as airplanes, road vehicles, railways, construction parts.
The large dimensions of these doors mean that their production becomes very expensive, and this all the more so if one also wishes to ensure sufficient sealing, since they must remain relatively easy to handle.
The present invention relates to a sliding door comprising at least one panel carried by at least two rollers each rotating about an axis of rotation connected to the panel.
This door is characterized in that it comprises a mechanism for moving the axis of rotation of each of said rollers relative to the panel.
Preferably, this mechanism comprises a lever oscillating about an axis integral with the panel, the assembly being arranged such that after a lateral movement to put the panel in the closed position in front of its frame by rolling the supporting rollers, a last closing operation is carried out by relative displacement of the axis of each carrier roller relative to the panel, causing a lowering movement of the latter, accompanied by a horizontal displacement tending to apply it against its jamb.
The accompanying drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. I is an elevation view of the slightly open door.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the door, in line with one of its carrying rollers, the door being in the rolling position on this roller.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the door, to the right of one of its carrying rollers, the door being lowered on its threshold and pressed against its frame.
Fig. 4 is a partial view of the door in section, on a larger scale, showing a carrier roller.
The door according to the invention comprises the following main parts: a sliding panel 1, the height of which corresponds to the opening of the hangar. In fig. 1, 2, 3, for drawing purposes. the dimensions of the sliding panel 1 have been intentionally reduced by removing a portion of the design. Fig. 1 more particularly, has only one end of the door. while Figs. 2 and 3 represent a shortened door.
The panel I comprises a lower box 2 which can extend over its entire length or be limited to the areas comprising the carrier rollers 4. The upper part 3 of the panel I comprises the longitudinal guide elements not shown in the drawing, which can be produced by rollers attached to the door frame and guiding the panel 1, or vice versa by rollers secured to the panel 1. It is also possible to use slides.
The carrier rollers 4 rotate about a horizontal axis of rotation 5 and perpendicular to the faces of the panel 1, and roll on a carrier rail 10, the profile of which is adapted to the shape of the groove 9 formed in the roller. During the opening and closing maneuvers of the door, the panel I therefore rolls on its rollers, it is moved in front of its doorframe, sufficient clearance existing between them. avoiding any unnecessary friction and facilitating the lateral displacement of the panel I ensuring the opening and closing of the door.
The installation can comprise a mechanical device, for example by chain, ensuring the translations. It is obvious that it is also possible to equip the roller with an electric motor to cause the movements of the panel 1. During these movements, the panel I rolls on the carrier rollers 4 and is guided at its upper part.
The installation comprises a lever 6 oscillating about a horizontal axis 7 and parallel to the faces of the panel I to which it is fixed, at a point located at its base, by means of fasteners 8. The lever 6, which carries the axis 5 of rotation of the carrier roller extends upwards and carries, by means of a lever ball joint 12, an end nut 11 through which a threaded rod 15 passes. The left end of the rod 15 passes through a ball 14 mounted in the wall of the lower box 2 via a part 13. The ball is equipped with a bearing and a stop allowing the threaded rod 15 to rotate about its axis. Finally, the threaded rod 15 extends outward and carries a handwheel 16 for manual control.
After the door closing maneuver, the panel 1 being brought in front of the door frame, it is lowered by the oscillation of the carrier roller 14, as shown in FIG. 3 and in phantom in fig. 4. This effect, it suffices to maneuver the control wheel 16 to rotate its threaded rod and, consequently, cause the displacement of the nut 1 1 and bring it near the end of the rod, in a position shown in phantom in the drawing. This movement has the effect of causing the inclination of the carrier roller 4 by the oscillation of the lever 6 around the axis 7.
As a result, there is a double movement of the door, consisting of a horizontal translation tending to move the panel I from left to right, according to fig. 4, and a vertical translation tending to descend the panel 1 to place its lower profile 17 constituted for example by a round iron or a welded tube, at the lower edge of the panel 1, on the door sill 18, constituted for example by a hardened rubber band, lodged in a groove in the floor.
Thus, this double movement has the effect, on the one hand, of placing the panel on the threshold of the door and, on the other hand, of resting it against its frame. The installation further comprises a doorframe consisting of two vertical uprights and a horizontal beam, these three elements being located in the same plane. This frame can be equipped with a seal, for example made of deformable rubber, and comprising two vertical parts 19, as well as a horizontal part 20.
The upper part of the door comprises, located in the area where the upper guide takes place, a set of fixed upper support blocks 22, mounted in an upper guide slide 21, and a few upper support rollers 23 mounted on panel 1.
All of the upper rollers 23 and the support blocks 22 are arranged such that when the panel 1 is lifted, it can slide freely, during its lateral movements, without the rollers 23 touching the blocks 22. However, when the panel 1 is in the closed position of the door, these rollers are arranged in line with the wedges and, during the lowering movement of the panel 1, come into contact with them. The shape of the wedges, taking into account the position of the rollers, is such that they cause a horizontal displacement of the upper part 3 of the panel 1, tending to apply it against the jamb.
In other words, the operation of the carrier rollers has the effect, on the one hand, of placing the panel 1 on its threshold and of applying its upper and lower parts against the doorframe, thus achieving good sealing of the door. The opening maneuver remains easy, because it is done in two stages. In a first operation, by the operation of the steering wheel 16, the panel I is lifted from its threshold and away from the doorframe, it therefore passes from the state of FIG. 3 to that of FIG. 2. Then in a second operation, the door is opened by sliding the panel I and rotating the rollers 4. This maneuver is easy, since the panel I is free.
Many variant embodiments can be envisaged.
To ensure that the upper part of the panel I rests against its jamb, it is possible to use cams sliding against the wedges 22 and doing the same work as the rollers 23.
Depending on the dimensions of the panel 1, instead of carrying out the lifting movement thereof by manual action of the handwheel 16, it is possible to carry it out using a mechanical system comprising, for example, an electric motor . a hydraulic or pneumatic piston, an electromagnetic control acting through gear reducers, lever systems, etc.
Finally, depending on its dimensions, the panel 1 can include more than two support rollers. It is then necessary to control them all by similar mechanisms making it possible to tilt or straighten all the carrier rollers synchronously. Similarly, instead of rigidly connecting, by means of the fasteners 8, the axis of oscillation 7 of the lever 6 to the panel 1, this connection can be carried out by means of a deformable element, giving elasticity to the panel 1. the suspension, facilitating the distribution of loads between the carrier rollers, when there are more than two.
It is obvious that the general shape of the panel 1 can be other than planar, for example cylindrical. The carrier rollers then roll on rails 10 in an arc of a circle.
In the description it was assumed that the door was vertical, but it goes without saying that the construction can be used for inclined doors. The materials used can be any.
For large-sized doors, steel and / or aluminum panels are preferably used, whether or not combined with materials with good thermal or sound insulation characteristics. The panels 1 can include glazed parts.
