Beispiel 1

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of water-soluble monoazo dyes which are in the form of the free acids of the formula 1
EMI1.1
where A and A 'are residues of the benzene series and Z1 is a divalent bridge member, for example -NH CO-, -N (lower alkyl) -CO-, -CONH-, -CO-N (lower alkyl) -, -NH SO2-, - N (lower alkyl) -SO2-, -CO-, -SO2-, -NH-, -S-, -0- or lower alkyl, mean, X stands for a group of the formula - bonded to A and / or A '( Y) p-SO2CH2CH2Z (2) or - (Y) p-SO2CH = CH2 (3), Z represents an inorganic or organic radical which can be split off under alkaline conditions or a hydroxyl group, and Y represents -CH2- or -CH2-CH2-, m and p the number 0 or 1 and n the number 1 or 2 by adding a diazotized amine of the formula 4 H2NA- (Zi-A ') mHX) n (4).
in which A, A ', Zt, m, X and n have the meanings given above, couples with 2-hydroxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid and, if Z in formula (2) represents a hydroxyl group, this with sulfating or phosphorylating agents corresponding acidic sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid ester.
The radicals A and A 'can contain further substituents customary in azo dyes, such as, for example, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, acetylamino, carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid groups or halogen atoms. Examples of inorganic or organic radicals Z which can be split off under alkaline conditions are:
A halogen atom, such as the chlorine atom, an alkyl or aryl sulfonic acid ester group and the acyloxy group, such as, for example, the acetoxy group, also the thiosulfuric acid ester group and the phosphoric acid ester group and in particular the sulfuric acid ester group.
The monoazo dyes obtainable by the process according to the invention are isolated by salting out, for example with sodium or potassium chloride, or by spray drying the preparation mixture.
The new monoazo dyes of the formula 1 mentioned are very suitable for dyeing and printing various materials such as wool, silk, leather, polyamide or polyurethane fibers, but especially cellulose-containing materials such as cotton, regenerated cellulose fibers and linen. They can preferably be used by the dyeing and printing processes generally customary in industry for reactive dyes and, in the presence of alkaline agents, produce strong, clear reddish yellow to orange dyeings and prints with considerable manufacturing and usage fastnesses on cellulose materials. Particularly noteworthy are the very high resistance to the action of light, the remarkable wet fastness properties, such as washing fastness, water fastness and perspiration fastness.
The long shelf life of the alkaline printing pastes, the good state of the contours and the non-staining of the white fund are remarkable for the stuff printing company. The high solubility and good durability of the alkaline padding liquors of the dyes according to the invention are advantageous for use by the padding process.
The closest comparable monoazo dyes known from German patents 960 534, 965 902, 966 651 and 1 126 542 are significantly superior to the dyes obtainable according to the process in terms of color structure after dyeing and printing processes and in terms of sulfur fastness.
example 1
325 parts by weight of 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-methyl-benzene-4-ss-hydroxyethylsulfonic sulfuric acid ester are stirred into 1000 parts by weight of water and 1000 parts by weight of ice powder, 150 parts by weight of 37 weight percent hydrochloric acid are added and 173 parts by weight of 40 weight percent sodium nitrite solution are added to diazotise. 224 parts by weight of 2-hydroxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid are sprinkled into this diazonium salt solution. The coupling mixture is adjusted to pH 6 by adding 20 percent strength by weight sodium carbonate solution and stirred until the formation of the dye has ended. The resulting orange dye is precipitated with potassium chloride, filtered off and dried at 50 to 600 ° C. in vacuo.
A reddish yellow powder is obtained, which dissolves in water with an orange color.
In the form of the free acid, the dye has the following composition:
EMI1.2
In the presence of sodium carbonate, it gives strong, brilliant orange dyeings and prints on native and regenerated cellulose fibers, which have very good wet fastness properties and good lightfastness.
Example 2
231 parts by weight of 1-amino-2-methoxybenzene-5-ss-hydroxy ethyl sulfone are dissolved in 1000 parts by weight of water and 250 parts by weight of 370% hydrochloric acid and then 1000 parts by weight of ice powder are added. Diazotization is carried out by running in 173 parts by weight of 40 weight percent sodium nitrite solution at 05 ° C. 224 parts by weight of 2-hydroxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid are sprinkled into the diazonium salt solution. The coupling mixture is made neutral by adding sodium carbonate and stirred until the formation of the dye has ended.
The dyestuff is isolated by salting out with sodium chloride, filtered off and dried at 70-800 ° C. To convert it into the sulfuric acid monoester, the dyestuff is finely ground, added to 4000 parts by weight of concentrated sulfuric acid and stirred until completely dissolved. The reaction mixture is then poured onto 8000 parts by weight of ice powder. The dye is deposited by adding sodium chloride, filtered off and washed neutral with 25 percent strength by weight sodium chloride solution and dried at 50-600 ° C. in a vacuum drying cabinet.
An orange colored powder is obtained which dissolves in water with an orange color. The dye obtained is in the form of the free acid of the formula
