The known piston internal combustion engines with a
Cylinder heads require an inlet and outlet valve for the gas exchange and also optimally designed gas exchange channels.
In addition, the valve weight must be kept as light as possible in order to reduce the oscillating masses and to keep the acceleration forces small.
Even the seemingly simple slide controls could not gain acceptance, as the difficulty lies in reliably sealing, lubricating and cooling the rotating surfaces that are exposed to fuel gases.
The object of this invention is to provide a cylinder head with a combined intake and
To create an outlet device in which the gas exchange can take place via the same valve without the flow of the gases flowing in and out being hindered and also that
Valve is open in its largest open position at the start of the intake stroke, a minimum of installation space and the most reliable
Control of the thermal expansion is guaranteed and, in addition, good conditions for easy installation and removal of the complete valve are given.
According to the invention, this is described in the introduction
Piston internal combustion engine achieved in that the hollow
Closing part in its first section with the mouths of the
Channels aligned first openings and in its second
Section in its closed position of the bore wall covered, second openings, whereby a connection can be established between the cylinder and either the inlet duct or the outlet duct by opening the closing part and rotating the slide according to the cycle taking place in the cylinder.

Embodiment of the invention described in more detail.
It shows a section through the central longitudinal plane of a
Gas exchange duct with the combined inlet and outlet device, A in the closed position, B in the open position.
The combined inlet and outlet shown in the drawing
The outlet device has a closing part 1 and a slide 2. The closing part 1 is a cylindrical body, on the circumference of which more than two openings 4, 5 are attached and in the central bore, the slide 2 coaxially with a slight
Game is guided and in extension into the mouth of a gas exchange duct 6, 7 mounted in the cylinder head 10, the flat bottom 3 of which is provided for the cylinder head 10, a valve seat facing the cylinder 8 for the closing part 1, the upper end of the closing part 1 for egg NEN spring plate with several helical springs is carried out in the usual way.
The slide 2 is a cylindrical body which is in the telbohrung with the closing part 1 with little play aufgenom men and is stored coaxially. Graduated in the upper part to accommodate a bracket and its for the gear to be driven in the circumferential direction, which is connected to the body by a wedge and a thread that can accommodate a nut. The slide bottom 9 allows the attachment of guide surfaces 11, which can be used as designed on a water pump impeller to convey the cooling air.
By choosing to let the gas exchange channel open into the first openings of the closing part and, in its second section, in its closed position, the second openings covered by the bore wall when the closing part is pressed down and the slide is rotated between the cylinder according to the cycle in the cylinder and either the inlet channel or the outlet channel a connection is established, which is emphasized by the fact that only the closing part requires an introduced force for opening, the slide, which is rotatably arranged coaxially in the closing part, the openings of the mouth in the gas exchange channel after the Cylinders are closed alternately according to cycle. The valve opening cross-section can be designed to be almost identical to the bore of the cylinder in order to obtain maximum air throughput.
In addition, the guide surfaces attached to the underside of the slide are assigned as air chargers.
