Abstract
X-ray marking pencil for doctors or dentists etc. contains an x-ray contrast agent so that any marks or indications made by the pensil are reproduced on the photographic plate recording the x-ray. The pencil can mark a pack of unexposed film and remain legible before and after exposure, at the same time providing a legible and ineradicable mark or indication on the film. This should prevent loss, error or distortion of the film record in terms of patient, date, location etc. The pensil can also be used to mark the skin membrane in order to pinpoint particular areas which will subsequently show up on the exposed film.
Description
Für die Beschriftung der Röntgen aufnahmen seiner Patienten verwendet der Zahnarzt üblicherweise folgende Mittel: Er heftet in Bleiblech gestanzte Buchstaben oder Nummern auf die Filme, so dass diese auf dem entwickelten Film sichtbar werden. Diese Buchstaben sind schwerfällig in der Handhabung, da z. B. schon 2 Intitialen viel Platz auf dem Bild einnehmen und damit vielleicht wichtige Teile der Aufnahme abdecken. Das Anklemmen, Entfernen und Sterilisieren der Buchstaben ist zeitraubend. Auch könnten Buchstaben geschluckt oder aspiriert werden.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass diese Nachteile vermieden werden können, wenn man zum Beschriften der Röntgenbilder den erfindungsgemässen Schreibstift verwendet. Dieser Schreibstift ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass er mindestens ein Röntgenkontrastmittel enthält, so dass eine Aufzeichnung mit diesem Stift bei Röntgenbestrahlung eine genaue Reproduktion auf einer fotographischen Platte erzeugt.
Durch Verwendung dieses Stiftes wird es möglich, einerseits auf der Verpackung eines unbeleuchteten Films eine lesbare Beschriftung anzubringen, die auch vor und während der Entwicklung noch lesbar bleibt, und anderseits automatisch auf der bestrahlten und entwickelten Aufnahme dieselbe Beschriftung in unauswischbare Form zu erhalten.
Fehlerquellen vor, während und nach der Entwicklung, mit Einschluss der Ablage und Aufbewahrung, sind derart mit Sicherheit und ohne besonderen Arbeitsaufwand ausgeschaltet.
Eine zweite mögliche Verwendung dieses erfindungsgemässen Schreibstiftes besteht darin, dass z. B. Ärzte und Zahnärzte die genauen Beziehungen zwischen Haut und Knochen oder eingeschlossenen Fremdkörpern im Röntgenbild festhalten möchten.
Zu diesem Zweck kann mit dem ungiftigen Stift eine Zeichnung auf der Haut oder Schleimhaut angebracht werden, die dann wieder auf das Röntgenbild projiziert wird.
Ein erfindungsgemässer Schreibstift kann hergestellt werden, indem man in der Rezeptur eines üblichen Schreibstiftes, insbesondere eines Fettstiftes, die weissen oder farbigen Pigmente ganz oder teilweise durch Röntgenkontrastmittel üblicher Art ersetzt. Falls das Kontrastmittel nicht selbst Farbpigmenteigenschaften aufweist, belässt man zweckmässigerweise einen Teil des üblichen Farbpigmentes, damit die Beschriftung sofort lesbar ist.
Beispielweise kann zur Herstellung eines röntgenopaken, weissen Farbstiftes das übliche Zink- oder Titanweiss durch Bariumsulfat in geeigneter Menge ersetzt werden. Einen absolut ungiftigen und weichen Fettstift könnte man z. B. herstellen aus Kakaobutter mit Goldstaub vermengt.
Selbstverständlich kann der erfindungsgemässe Schreibstift in allen bisher gebräuchlichen Formen von Schreibmitteln, und insbesondere als sog. Farbstift, Fettstift, Lippenstift und dergleichen hergestellt werden. Wichtig ist nur, dass der Stift eine ausreichende Menge eines üblichen Röntgenkontrastmittels enthält und eine genügend dicke Schicht auf dem zu beschriftenden Objekt hinterlässt, so dass eine damit vorgenommene Beschriftung der Verpackung des unbeleuchteten Films (in Form eines Namens, eines Datums, einer Nummer oder ähnlicher Angaben) bei der Bestrahlung, d. h. der Röntgenaufnahme, genügend opak ist und dass deren Bild bei der Entwicklung im Film selbst als sog. Verschattung festgehalten wird.

It has now been found that these disadvantages can be avoided if the pen according to the invention is used to write on the X-ray images. This pen is characterized in that it contains at least one X-ray contrast medium, so that a recording with this pen when exposed to X-rays produces an accurate reproduction on a photographic plate.
By using this pen, it is possible, on the one hand, to apply legible lettering to the packaging of an unlit film, which remains legible before and during development, and, on the other hand, to automatically receive the same lettering in an indelible form on the irradiated and developed image.
Sources of error before, during and after development, including filing and storage, are eliminated with certainty and without any special effort.
A second possible use of this inventive pen is that, for. B. Doctors and dentists want to record the exact relationships between skin and bones or trapped foreign bodies in the X-ray image.
For this purpose, a drawing can be made on the skin or mucous membrane with the non-toxic pen, which is then projected back onto the X-ray image.
A pen according to the invention can be produced by completely or partially replacing the white or colored pigments in the formulation of a conventional pen, in particular a grease pen, with X-ray contrast media of the conventional type. If the contrast agent does not itself have color pigment properties, it is expedient to leave part of the usual color pigment in place so that the lettering can be read immediately.
For example, to produce a radio-opaque, white colored pencil, the usual zinc or titanium white can be replaced by barium sulfate in a suitable amount. An absolutely non-toxic and soft grease stick could e.g. B. Manufacture from cocoa butter mixed with gold dust.
It goes without saying that the writing pen according to the invention can be produced in all forms of writing material that have been used up to now, and in particular as a so-called colored pencil, grease pencil, lipstick and the like. It is only important that the pen contains a sufficient amount of a common X-ray contrast medium and leaves a sufficiently thick layer on the object to be written on so that it can be used to write on the packaging of the unlit film (in the form of a name, a date, a number or something similar Information) during irradiation, d. H. the X-ray image is sufficiently opaque and that its image is recorded in the film itself as a so-called shadow during development.
