The invention relates to a column device with an upright cylinder and removable dividing trays arranged in it, which are connected to the cylinder jacket in a gas- and liquid-tight manner. This column device can be, for example, a distillation column, an exchange column or an amplifier column. The dividing trays (exchange trays) can be sieve trays or bubble trays. The device can contain additional separating trays which are not connected to the cylinder jacket in a gas- and liquid-tight manner, for example the bells of bell trays can be directed alternately up and down and only every second bell tray is tightly connected to the cylinder jacket.
Column equipment must be cleaned at certain time intervals or when a different substance than previously processed is to be processed. To do this, it is necessary to remove the intermediate floors. So far, this has led to complex constructions for the tight but detachable connection of the intermediate floors with the cylinder jacket and time-consuming disassembly and assembly work.
The invention is based on the object of connecting the intermediate floors tightly but detachably to the cylinder jacket by simple, constructive means such that they can be removed from the cylinder, reinserted and connected tightly to the cylinder jacket without time-consuming disassembly and assembly work.
This is achieved according to the invention in that a hose with a deformable cross-section is arranged along the circumference of each dividing tray and means are provided to generate and maintain a pressure in the hoses that is greater than the pressure in the column, such that the hose is pressed tightly to the cylinder jacket and to the edge of the intermediate floor. Preferably, all partitions are connected by supports to form a unit which can be pulled out of the cylinder jacket when the hose is relieved of pressure, whereupon it is easily accessible for cleaning at all times. After cleaning, the unit can just as easily be reinserted into the cylinder and a tight connection between the edges of the dividing trays and the cylinder jacket can be established by putting the hoses back under pressure.
In the following, an embodiment of the invention is described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing. The single figure shows an edge part and a central part of a longitudinal section through a column device in the area of a dividing tray.
In the drawing, 1 denotes the cylinder jacket and 2 denotes a separating tray, designed as a sieve tray, of the partially illustrated column device. On the edge 3 of the dividing base 2, a ring 4 concentric to the dividing base 2 with a U-profile is arranged. The open side of the profile is directed radially outwards towards the jacket 1. The lower leg 5 of the profile of the ring 4 is firmly and tightly connected to the edge 3, for example welded on. A hose 6 is mounted in the cavity of the profile of the ring 4. The cross-section of the hose 6 is larger than the cross-section of the cavity of the ring profile 4, the part of the hose cross-section located in the profile ring being larger than the part of the hose cross-section protruding from the profile and the profile ring 4, which protrudes only slightly radially over the partition plate 2, a distance from the jacket 1 has.
This ensures that the hose, when it is inflated, can only yield to its internal pressure in the area of this small distance and thereby lies firmly in the profile ring 4 and on the jacket 1, creating a reliable seal between the one tightly connected to the partition base 2 Ring 4 and the jacket 1 is achieved. The dividing tray 2 is firmly connected to the other dividing trays (not shown) of the column by supports 7. In the column axis there is arranged a tube 8 which is also tightly connected to the column trays and which is connected by a connecting line 9 to the cavity of the hose 6 (and by corresponding connecting lines, not shown, to the cavities of the sealing hoses of other partition trays). A connector 10 is used to connect to the hose 6.
One end of the connecting piece 10 passes through a hole in the part of the ring 4 connecting the legs of the U-profile and through a hole in the wall of the hose 6 and has a flange 11 within the hose 6, which is supported on the ring 4 by means of a Nut 12 is pressed tightly to the edge of the hole in the hose. The other end of the connecting piece 10 is connected to the connecting line 9 by a pipe connection with a union nut 13.
The hose consists of a rubber-elastic material, the choice of which must take into account the substances to be processed in the column.
During operation of the column, a pressure medium in the line system 8, 9 maintains an overpressure in the hoses 6 which is so much greater than the pressure within the column that the hoses 6 are tight against both the profile rings 4 and the jacket 1 be pressed.
For this purpose z. B. a gas bottle with a reducing valve connected to one end of the tube 8 and the other end of the tube closed. The pressure medium can be air. If pressure medium escaping at any leaking points has adverse effects on the substances in the
Column could have, for example nitrogen can be used as the pressure medium.
In order to generate and maintain a pressure in the hoses that is greater than the pressure in the column, in a column operating with negative pressure it can be sufficient to connect the pipe 8 to the outside air, provided that the pressure difference and the The flexibility of the hose wall is sufficient to press the hose firmly enough into the profile ring and onto the jacket.
The partitions 2 with the rings 4, hoses 6 and connecting lines 9, the pipe 8 and the supports 7 form a structural unit. This unit can simply be pulled out of the cylinder after the hoses 6 have been depressurized. Then the empty cylinder and the unit accessible from all sides are easy to clean. The unit can then be pushed back into the cylinder, whereupon the dividing trays are again tightly connected to the jacket after pressurization of the hoses. As can be seen from the exemplary embodiment described, this advantageous property is achieved by very simple constructive measures.
