Fig. 1 im Schnitt einen Behälter und
Fig. 2 einen Schnitt entlang der Linie II-II in Fig. 1.

The present invention relates to a container for storing and mixing at least two chemically reacting material components, which has a chamber for each material component, the chambers being separated from one another by a destructible partition.
A container of this type is known from Swiss patent specification no. 464 787, for example. This container has a membrane that has to be pierced from the outside by means of an instrument to bring the material components together. Such a container cannot, however, be used for material components which react very quickly with one another, since the through-holes in the membrane do not allow the components to flow together rapidly as required. As a result, only some of the existing quantities of components can react with one another, which has a negative effect on the end product.
The present invention now aims to obviate this disadvantage.
The object is therefore to create a container of the type mentioned, in which the material components can be brought together suddenly and with the entire amount at the desired time.
This object is achieved according to the invention with the container mentioned at the beginning by a tear-open device for tearing away at least a part of the partition.
In the following, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
It shows:
Fig. 1 in section a container and
FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1.
The container shown in the figures consists of a can 1 made of sheet metal or plastic, which has a pouring opening 2. A closure cap 4 is screwed onto the neck 3 which defines this pouring opening.
In the can wall there is a bead 5 extending along the circumference of the can, on the inside of which a partition 6 is attached. This partition 6 divides the interior of the can into a lower and an upper chamber 7 or 8. A material component is accommodated in each chamber.
This partition wall 6 is designed so that it can be torn open from the outside. In the present exemplary embodiment, the partition consists of a tear-open fastener, as it is known, for example, under the name Easy to open or Roll-top.
The partition 6, which consists of a metal membrane, is provided in a known manner with lines of weakness 9 along which the membrane can be torn. A pull ring 10 is attached to the metal membrane 6.
A pull cord 11 is connected to the pull ring 10 and has a tab 11a at its upper end which is arranged in the neck 3. The rip cord 11 is preferably made of a flexurally elastic material, e.g. B. metal, where it is under a certain bending stress when the cap 4 is screwed on. This has the advantage that the tab 11a jumps out of the pouring opening 2 when the cap 4 is opened and can be easily grasped.
It is also conceivable to fasten the tab 11a on the inside of the closure cap 4 so that it is pulled out of the can when the cap 4 is lifted off.
By pulling on the rip cord 11, at least part of the partition 6 is torn away, so that a large connecting opening is immediately formed between the chambers 7 and 8 so that the two material components can come together immediately and completely. The material components are intensively mixed by the subsequent shaking. The torn away part of the partition 6 remaining in the interior of the can acts as a stirrer, whereby the mixing effect can be considerably improved.
When the partition 6 is torn away, an edge section 12 (FIG. 1) remains in the area of the bead 5, which causes a turbulence of the material component flowing past this edge, which also has an advantageous effect on the mixing effect.
The container described is suitable, among other things, for hand-foaming polyurethane. The lower chamber 7 is filled with isocyanate and polyol and the propellant are introduced into the upper chamber 8. Since the isocyanate is sensitive to air, the separating membrane 6 can be arranged in such a way that the lower chamber 7 is completely filled with isocyanate without forming an air space. The necessary shaking space is then provided in the upper chamber 8.
Since, as mentioned, the propellant is in the upper chamber 8, any overpressure that may be present can be safely reduced when the cover 4 is opened.
It is also quite conceivable to design the container described for more than two material components.
The various partition walls between the individual chambers are to be mechanically coupled to one another in such a way that all partition walls are torn at the same time.
Wei already mentioned, the box can be made of metal or plastic. The partition can be made of the same material as the can. However, it is also conceivable to make the box from metal and the partition made from plastic, or vice versa.
The container described allows the precisely pre-dosed material components to be brought together instantly and with the entire amount, so that the required mixing ratio can be precisely maintained.
