The present invention relates to a fishing rod for mouli
net driven by a motor.
It has already been proposed to add a reel fishing rod
a small motor driven by a battery and capable of turning the
reel when it is necessary to quickly wind up a
large length of wire. We know that it is advantageous to
be able to use such a long line on a reel fishing rod
as possible, but that the wire winding operations
then take longer or are more difficult.
The object of the present invention is to provide a cane
fishing of the kind mentioned at the beginning in the handle of which
are incorporated, not only all the elements necessary to
the reel drive and the reel itself, but equal
In some embodiments, a signal transmitter uses
reading part of the power available in the neck source
rant of the engine.
For this purpose, the fishing rod according to the invention is characterized
by the fact that the reel and the motor are housed in the handle
coaxially with the latter.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a shape
execution of the fishing rod according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial sectional view of one end of the handle of the cane, and
fig. 2 a plan view of this same part of the rod.
The handle of the cane described here consists of a series of elements which fit together telescopically with the exception of the last one and which are made for example of fiberglass or a similar material. As for the last element, part of which is shown in the drawing, it comprises a metal frame consisting of two tubular parts 1 and 2 which are for example made of aluminum and which are joined by a cylindrical casing 3, for example made of sheet metal. Between one end of the casing 3 and the aluminum part 1 there is also a metal sleeve 4 which supports an auxiliary signaling device as will be seen below. The parts 1, 2, 3, 4 are connected to each other by screwing or gluing or by any other means.
It will be noted that the aluminum elements 1 and 2 have sufficient dimensions to be able to constitute a mass in a direct current electrical circuit supplied by a current source, constituted here by a certain number of cells 5 housed precisely inside the tubular sleeve 1. One of the end cells of the series is in contact by means of a spring 6 fixed to a screw 7 with the cover 8 which closes the part 1 and which is screwed inside this part. It will be noted that the tube 1 is shaped so as to constitute a rear handle of the fishing rod and that, for this, it is coated with a layer of cork for example. The gasket 9 which covers the part 8 is also made of an insulating material.
Part 2, also made of aluminum, is shaped in the same way as part 1. It is also coated with a thin layer of cork so as to constitute the second handle of the fishing rod. It is between these two handles, that is to say inside parts 3 and 4 and on these parts that are housed and mounted all the elements which allow the use of the fishing rod.
Thus, the actual reel 10 is constituted by a reel whose two flanges have almost the same diameter as the casing 3. This reel is integral with the inner raceways of two ball bearings 11, the outer races of which are fixed in rings 12 which are joined together and which can slide axially inside the casing 3. The movable slide 13 equipped with the operating button 14 and mounted on the casing 3 is used to control the support of the casing. reel 10. It thus makes it possible to move it over a distance which is given by the length of the slots 15 one traversed by a retaining screw and
The other by a pin engaged in the peripheral groove of one
rings 12.
On the side opposite to the slide 13, the casing 3 carries a fixed roller 16 which serves to guide the wire 17 and which extends
above an eyelet 18 through which the wire can penetrate inside the casing 3 and reach the barrel of the spool 10. At the right end of the spool 10, a square opening is provided. in the coil itself and the dimensions of which are adjusted to those of the end 19 of the shaft of the motor 20. The latter is a reduction motor of a conventional type, which can be obtained commercially. It is held inside the casing 3 in a fixed position, its shaft 19 being coaxial with said casing. The motor is supplied from the batteries 5 by various connections which are not shown in the drawing but whose functions will be explained.
However, before being able to talk about these various functions, it is necessary to further describe the outer sleeve 21 which is fixed around the casing 3 at the level of the left end of the engine 20 as seen in FIG. 2. This sleeve is not shown in FIG. 1 so that the three studs 22, 23 and 24 are visible which can each slide in a corresponding slot in the axial direction, so as to occupy either one or the other of the ends of this slot. To each of the pads 22, 23, 24 corresponds one of the three buttons 25 held in place around the casing 3 by the sleeve 21. Each of these buttons can be moved in the circumferential direction through a given angle and then actuates a transmission ( not shown) which moves one of the pads 22, 23 or 24.
It is understood that the pads 22, 23 and 24 each control one of the stages of the speed reducer incorporated in the motor 20 and engage the motor when it reaches the end of the engagement stroke. In front of the right end of the engine is mounted a switch 26 which is controlled by an operating lever 27 fixed on the casing 3. Indicator lights 28 and 29, each located in front of one of the two arrows 30 and 31, are engaged when the lever 27 is tilted to their side. The connections then being such that the direction of rotation of the motor corresponds to the direction of movement of the wire indicated by the arrow.
The switch 26 therefore regulates the direction of rotation of the motor 20 while the engagement or the release of the motor are controlled by that of the pads 22, 23 or 24 which is brought into the engagement position.
Thus, the elements described up to now make it possible to operate the following functions:
First, with the reel in the disengaged position, the line can be launched in the usual way. Then, the reel will be coupled to the motor by operating the button 14. From this moment, the button 27 being placed either on the winding position or on the unwinding position, it will suffice to operate one or the other of the buttons 25 to start the engine at one or the other of three different speeds, which gives a total of six different possibilities.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, there is also provided, as already indicated, an intermediate sleeve 4 which carries a lamp 32 as well as a vibrator 33 and two levers 34 and 35 biased by calibrated springs of so as to tilt in the direction of the axis of the rod under the action of a determined force with good precision. Each of these levers is also integral with a contact connected in series, either with the lamp 32 or with the vibrator 33, these various elements being naturally connected in the battery circuit 5 so as to be supplied with current when the contacts are closed. Thus, after having launched the line, the wire 17 can be pulled back slightly so as to form a loop which will be hooked to one of the levers 34 or 35. These levers will therefore function as detectors.
Indeed, as soon as the wire is subjected to a traction exceeding the force for which the spring has been calibrated, the lever rocks and closes the contact, which lights the lamp 32 or makes the vibrator 33 vibrate. choice of one or the other of the detection systems provided, that is to say either the visual system or the hearing system.
