Description
The invention relates to an electrotherapeutic device for external use and is characterized by means for generating DC voltage pulses whose amplitude is less than 120 volts and whose duration is less than 0.20 seconds.
An advantageous embodiment of a device according to the invention has an electrode in the form of a large number of tips, which are attached to a roller and are fed with the DC voltage pulses, so that safe contact with all reflex zones is ensured by rolling movement.
Targeted electrotherapy can also be achieved with a few points of contact, preferably with one point of contact. The DC voltage, which preferably pulsates uniformly at less than 20 Hertz, can vary to any desired extent within the specified limits both with regard to the voltage amplitudes and the pulse duration.
So far known types of external therapy for physical training are mainly massages, vibrators and the reflex zone treatment according to Fitzgerald / Ingham USA.
The device according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments.
A possible voltage profile of the pulsating direct voltage of the device according to the invention is shown in FIG. 1 means the pulse duration of less than 0.20 seconds, 2 the pulse period duration and 3 the voltage amplitude, which is below 120 volts.
Another possible voltage curve is shown in Fig. 2, the pulse duration 1, the pulse period duration 2, the voltage amplitudes 3, the time period 4 between voltage rise and drop and the course of the voltage rise 6 and the voltage drop 5 vary, the pulse duration and the voltage amplitudes within the specified limits.
In Fig. 3 an electrode of a device according to the invention is shown. Here, 9 denotes a roller provided with metal tips 11, the surface 10 of which has an insulating effect, the metal tips 11 being fed with pulsating DC voltage via the axis 7 through the supply cable 8, and where 13 represents the associated handle and 12 the connecting tube.
Fig. 4 shows a device according to the invention, 17 being a roller, the surface 18 of which, shown enlarged in Fig. 5, is composed of pylamids and via the axis 14 and the power supply 15 from the pulse voltage source 16, which is accommodated in the handle 19, is supplied with voltage.
Fig. 6 shows an electrode for punctiform treatment, with 20 representing the power supply cable, 22 representing the metal pressure pin and 21 representing the insulating handle.
