Kunststoffgeschirre etwas höhere Mengen an Klarspülmittel.
The main patent 506 615 relates to a low-foam rinse aid for the machine washing of dishes, the
A) an adduct of not more than 5 moles of ethylene oxide with unsaturated aliphatic alcohols having 8-20 carbon atoms, and
B) an anionic wetting agent containing unbranched alkyl radicals with 8-20 carbon atoms from the group of alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates, alkyl sulfonates and sulfosuccinic acid esters, the proportion of component B in the mixture being 0.1-12 percent by weight.
The agents have excellent wetting properties on hard surfaces and are suitable as low-foam rinsing agents, especially for glass and porcelain dishes, cutlery and the like. They have the further advantage that they are sufficiently biodegradable so that water pollution is avoided and the requirement for harmlessness to fish and other aquatic organisms is met.
The further processing of the subject of the main patent has now shown that one arrives at very similarly effective low-foam and biodegradable rinse aids if the anion-active wetting agents of group B of the main patent are mixed with certain biodegradable non-ionic wetting agents from the group of ethylene oxide adducts on unbranched alkyl radicals with 8 Aliphatic alcohols containing -20 C atoms and / or carboxylic acid alkanolamides replaced.
The invention thus provides a rinse aid which, as component A), is an adduct of not more than 5 moles of ethylene oxide and unsaturated aliphatic alcohols having 8-20 carbon atoms, and as component B) is an adduct of 7-15 moles of ethylene oxide and unbranched alkyl radicals with 8-20 carbon atoms containing aliphatic alcohols, for example carboxylic acid alkanolamides.
As in the case of the main patent, the agent according to the invention also has the advantage that it has excellent wetting properties on hard surfaces, such as e.g. B. glasses, porcelain surfaces, cutlery and the like. Even with concentrations of less than 100 mg / l, the rinse aid solution runs off the dishes properly. In particular, precious metals and dark-colored porcelain surfaces are characterized by a spotless shine after rinsing. A disruptive foam formation does not occur at the concentrations mentioned.
The described nonionic wetting agents of component B are also relatively readily biodegradable. The combination described does not lead to a pollution of the water and is harmless to fish and other aquatic organisms.
In the agent according to the invention, the ethylene oxide adducts of component A correspond to the main patent.
The nonionic wetting agents specified as a substitute for component B of the main patent can also be obtained in a known manner by adding 7-15 mol of ethylene oxide to aliphatic alcohols or carboxylic acid alkanolamides which contain unbranched alkyl radicals having 8-20 carbon atoms. The reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of alkaline catalysts and with the use of pressure and elevated temperature. Fatty alcohols and fatty acid alkanolamides and mixtures thereof, which are derived from naturally occurring animal and vegetable fats and oils, can be used as starting compounds.
Examples of suitable adducts of the type mentioned are: the addition product of 8 moles of ethylene oxide with dodecyl alcohol, the addition product of 10-12 moles of Äffiy lenoxid with a coconut fatty alcohol mixture of chain lengths C12-C18, the addition product of 12-14 mol of ethylene oxide with a tallow alcohol mixture Chain lengths C16 to Crs, the adduct of 10 mol of ethylene oxide with oleyl alcohol, the adduct of 8 mol of ethylene oxide with a coconut fatty acid monoethanolamide of chain lengths C12-C14, the adduct of 10-12 mol of ethylene oxide with a coconut fatty acid diethanolamide mixture of chain lengths Ci-Ci88.
The adducts of no more than 12 moles of ethylene oxide with the fatty alcohols or fatty acid alkanolamides mentioned are particularly suitable, since the longer the ethylene oxide chain increases the biodegradability.
The use concentrations of the agent according to the invention in the rinsing bath are, for example, 10-500 mg / l, preferably 20-100 mg / l, the amount of the nonionic wetting agent of component B 0.1-12, preferably 4-8 percent by weight, based on the total amount of Surfactants. The amount used in the rinse aid depends to a certain extent on the type and purity of the water used and on the type of dishes to be washed. In particular, salty water or
Plastic dishes have slightly higher amounts of rinse aid.
They are preferably used in the form of aqueous or aqueous alcoholic concentrates with an active ingredient content of 5-75 percent by weight. If the agent according to the invention is itself liquid or paste-like, it can also be used in solvent-free form. The concentrates are added to the rinse aid with the aid of automatic dosing devices, as are customary for such purposes.
If the dishes are washed with hard water, lower organic carboxylic acids with 2-6 carbon atoms can still be added to the concentrates or the rinse aid to avoid lime incrustations and limescale deposits on the washed dishes. Acids which are physiologically harmless and which have complex-forming properties with respect to the hardness components of water, such as, for example, tartaric acid, lactic acid or glycolic acid, are preferred. Citric acid is preferably used.
Depending on the hardness of the water, about 10 to 750 mg / l acid can also be used in the rinse aid.
example 1
Normally soiled dishes were washed in a household dishwasher with an alkaline detergent solution at 600 C and then freed from the adhering alkaline liquor in 1 to 2 intermediate washes with pure water. The cleaning solution contained 2 μl of an alkaline cleaning agent mixture consisting of 80% by weight of sodium tripolyphosphate, 10% by weight of sodium silicate, 9% by weight of soda and 1% by weight of potassium dichloroisocyanurate.
In the subsequent rinse cycle, a rinse aid with a temperature of 60-700 C was used, which contained 92 mg / l of an adduct of 45 mol of ethylene oxide with a technical unsaturated fatty alcohol mixture obtained from animal fats with 16-18 carbon atoms and a content of about 50- 55 percent by weight of unsaturated alcohols, 8 mg / l of an adduct of 10 mol of ethylene oxide with a technical unsaturated coconut fatty alcohol mixture with 12 to 18 carbon atoms and 140 mg / l of citric acid. The water used had a hardness of 160 dH.
The rinse aid was added to the rinse aid using an automatic metering device in the form of an aqueous alcoholic solution with a content of 20 percent by weight of nonionic surfactants and 28 percent by weight of citric acid.
After completing the cleaning and rinsing cycles, a perfect clear-dry effect was achieved.
Example 2
A rinsing program was carried out as in Example 1, but using softened water. The rinse aid contained 92 mg / l of an adduct of 5 moles of ethylene oxide with a technical unsaturated fatty alcohol mixture obtained from cottonseed oil with 12-18 carbon atoms, which had a proportion of about 55 o / o of unsaturated fatty alcohols, and 8 mg / l of des Adduct of 12 mol of ethylene oxide to a technical unsaturated coconut fatty alcohol mixture with 12-18 carbon atoms.
The clear dry effect, especially on stainless steel cutlery and dark-colored porcelain glazes, was perfect.
Example 3
A rinsing program was carried out as in Example 1, once using softened water and once using water of 160 dH. The rinse aid contained 46 mg / l of an adduct of 3.5 moles of ethylene oxide with a technical unsaturated fatty alcohol mixture with 12-18 carbon atoms and an iodine number of 50-55.4 mg / l of an adduct of 8.5 moles of ethylene oxide with a saturated one Fatty alcohol mixture with 12-18 carbon atoms and 70 mg / l citric acid.
The clear dry effect was perfect in both cases.
Example 4
A rinsing program was carried out as in Example 1 using 160 dH water. The clear rinsing bottle contained 92 mg / l of an adduct of 4.5 moles of ethylene oxide with a sperm oil alcohol mixture of chain lengths C16 to C18, 8 mg / l of an adduct of 8 moles of ethylene oxide with a coconut fatty acid monoethanolamide mixture of chain lengths Cu-C14 and 140 mg / l citric acid .
After the rinsing program was finished, a perfect clear drying effect was found. A disturbing foam formation did not occur.
