Fig. 1 die Austrittsseite eines Füllrohres mit Anpressvorrichtung für das zu füllende Behältnis;

Fig. 3 eine Seitenansicht der Anpressvorrichtung für das Behältnis zusammen mit einem Abschnitt einer unter Druck gefüllten Wursthülle, in gegenüber Fig. 1 und 2 vergrössertem Massstab und teilweise im Schnitt;
The invention relates to a pressing device on the filling tube of a filling machine for casing-like containers, in particular a sausage machine, with a dimensioning ring which encompasses the filling tube on which the container is arranged.
The previously known pressing devices of the type mentioned at the outset are designed in such a way that the moving container is pressed between tools which can execute a relative movement in the axial direction with respect to the filling tube. By adjusting the pressure between these tools, the pull-off resistance acting on the container, for example a tubular casing, can be changed, whereby the size of the filled sausages can be adjusted during the production of sausages. Attempts have also been made to achieve automatic adjustment of the size of the filled sausages by regulating the pressure between the axially movable tools through the filled sausage. The related art can be seen in U.S. Patents 3,454,980 and 3,545,038.
The invention is based on the object of creating a pressing device in which the pull-off resistance exerted on the casing for a specific product can be set very precisely by hand, the structure of which is simple and which can be manufactured more cheaply than known devices of this type.
The object is achieved according to the invention in that the dimensioning ring is made of an elastomer and has a thin extension that rests against the outer wall of the container, and that an adjusting device is also provided for radial inward pressing of the thin extension against the container.
The pressing device is preferably provided with a precisely working setting device which can be actuated during the filling operation and which can be set very precisely to match the product to be filled, so that it achieves optimal uniformity of the packaged product with regard to its dimensions and its packaging quality becomes.
In the following description, in conjunction with the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail.
Show in detail:
1 shows the exit side of a filling pipe with a pressing device for the container to be filled;
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the device shown in Fig. 1:
3 shows a side view of the pressing device for the container together with a section of a sausage casing filled under pressure, on an enlarged scale compared to FIGS. 1 and 2 and partially in section;
FIG. 4 shows an even more enlarged detail from the cut part of FIG. 3.
1 and 2, a filling tube 1 of a filling device can be seen which has a stuffing tool (not shown) at one end of the filling tube, with the aid of which an emulsion to be introduced into a casing 2 is extruded through the filling tube 1. The casing 2 is stored pushed together on the filling pipe 1 and is pulled off the filling pipe I when the emulsion is squeezed out of the free end of the filling pipe 3 and filled with the emulsion under pressure.
At the outer free end of the filling pipe 1, the pressing device is arranged, which has a gate housing 5 which has an essentially rectangular shape and is provided in the region of its one end with an opening in which a stop ring 6 is arranged. The stop ring 6 has a stepped outer wall, on the step of which an annular shoulder 7 of the gate housing 5 rests (FIG. 3).
On the side remote from the stop ring 6, the gate housing 5 is provided with a bushing 10 with an external thread, which can be grasped by hand at a knurled end area and screwed into a threaded part of the opening of the gate housing 5. The inner wall of the bushing 10 is shaped complementary to the outer wall of a dimensioning ring 12, so that when the bushing is rotated, the dimensioning ring 12 is moved axially in the direction of the stop ring 6 or away from it.
The dimensioning ring 12 consists of a main ring body 15 and an adjoining frustoconical extension 16 which tapers outward to an annular edge which is provided to rest against the outer edge of the envelope 2. As can best be seen from FIG. 3, the frustoconical extension 16 is also designed conically on its inside, so that it only comes into contact with the casing 2 in the region of its free end.
The stop ring 6 is provided with a rounding 17 in the area in which the outer edge of the attachment 16 protrudes, so that the outer wall of the attachment 16 can slide smoothly onto the stop ring 6. Fig. 3 shows that when the socket 10 is screwed into the gate housing 5 by turning the socket clockwise, the dimensioning ring 12 is moved axially in the direction of the rounding 17 of the stop ring 6, so that the outer edge of the projection 16 is Rounding 17 is pressed radially inward against the outer wall of the shell 2. The dimensioning ring 12 and the stop ring 6 are made of an elastomer that is more easily deformable than a metal. so that a radially inwardly directed deformation of the extension 16 is achieved in a measurable size.
In addition, the material should have an extremely low coefficient of friction and sufficient sliding ability to ensure that there is no sudden stop or slowing of the withdrawal movement of the casing from the filling tube. This avoids sudden enlargements in diameter, for example in filled sausages.
The material for the stop ring 6 and in particular for the dimensioning ring 12 is also selected so that these parts are wear-resistant and have optimum elasticity properties and spring back into their original shape after their deformation.
It has been shown that a solid elastic plastic material such as polytetrafluoroethylene is suitable for this purpose, the known properties of which correspond to the requirements mentioned above. This material has a modulus of elasticity of approximately 4218 kg / cm 2 and can be deformed sufficiently under load so that the dimensioning ring 12 can be given a noticeable deformation in order to achieve the radial inward movement.
The gate housing 5 is pivotably arranged in a horizontal plane and for this purpose is supported at its end remote from the filling point on an axle bolt 20 which is passed through a block 21 which is connected to a suitable rigid part 24 by means of screws 22 (FIG. 2). On the side facing away from the part 24, a guide part 26 is attached to the block 21 by means of screws 25, in which a bolt 29 with enlarged ends shown in FIG. 1, or another locking element, is slidably mounted. When the bolt 29 is in the position shown in FIG. 1, the gate housing 5 is held in its operating position in front of the filling pipe 1.
By moving the bolt 29 to the left, the door housing 5 with the pressing device for the casing can be swiveled away from the filling pipe into the position shown in FIG. 2 with dashed lines, in order to change the casings 2, for example. The release position of the bolt 29 is indicated in Fig. 1 with dot-dash lines.
A dimensioning ring 12 made of polytetrafluoroethylene behaves under load in such a way that it allows a uniform change in the pull-off resistance for the envelope and thus a change in the dimensions of the filled envelope, as can best be seen from the enlarged sectional view in FIG Approach 16 shows. The deformation of the dimensioning ring 12 is such that the greatest force is exerted on the shell 2 through an area of the frustoconical extension 16 that lies slightly inward from the free inner edge of the extension 16, and that the outermost edge of the extension 16 is against the outside The inner wall of the stop ring 6 bulges out at the point indicated by the reference number 32.
This results in the advantage that the casing 2, if necessary, can also be pulled in the reverse direction in the direction of the stuffing tool, without the free edge of the projection 16 preventing such a backward movement.
Such an adjustment movement can be desirable when a new casing 2 is being applied.
The advantages of using plastic material with properties similar to polytetrafluoroethylene result partly from the fact that the elasticity modulus of polytetrafluoroethylene is sufficiently small to achieve a noticeable radial inward movement of the dimensioning ring 12 against the shell 2, and at the same time is sufficiently high to ensure full restoration of the original shape after the stress that caused the deformation is removed.
In addition, there are the well-known properties of polytetrafluoroethylene, such as the low coefficient of friction, its sliding properties and its chemical resistance
In most cases it is not necessary to change the setting of the socket 10 if the gate housing 5 is to be pivoted into its open position, shown in FIG. 2 with dashed lines. This is a consequence of the relative position of the axle bolt 20 to the pressure point of the dimensioning ring 12, which is close to the filling tube end 3. By rounding off the outer edge of the filling tube end 3, as indicated in FIG. 4 at point 33, the dimensioning ring 12 can be smoothly pushed over the filling tube end 3 when the door housing 5 is pivoted back into its operating position.
The conical inner wall of the dimensioning ring 12 causes both a good insertion of the filling pipe when the gate housing 5 is closed and a clear release of the gate housing 5 when it is pivoted into its open position. The application of a new casing 2 to the filling tube 1 is therefore not associated with any major interruption of the filling operation.
Preferably, both the inside and the outside of the filling pipe 1 are coated with polytetrafluoroethylene. The inner coating reduces the frictional resistance of the emulsion flowing out through the pipe. In particular, this prevents the formation of smearing>), which in the relevant field is understood to mean the particularly strong movement of the fat contained in the filling compound outwards towards the inner edge of the casing, which can impair the external appearance of the sausage product. The outer coating of the filling tube 1 promotes the uniform removal of the casing 2 over the entire circumference of the filling tube, whereby a uniform shape of the produced goods, for example sausages, is achieved.
