The invention relates to a light projector, designed as a hand-held device, with a lighting device accommodated in a housing, consisting of a light source, light collecting system and fan, as well as a coupling device for connecting a flexible light guide.
One uses the emerging from the flexible light guide beam of such light projectors z. B. to illuminate objects or work or treatment sites or body cavities, such. B. in the field of dentistry, eye, ear, nose and throat medicine, also for lighting precision mechanical devices during the assembly or repair of the same, difficult to access and therefore poorly illuminated areas when working on machines or vehicles, as well as when working by engravers , Jewelers, gemstone cutters, in the photographic industry for illuminating objects under the microscope, in semiconductor technology, in the manufacture of electrical components.
Since a requirement for such devices is the provision of sufficient light output and this must be combined with a second requirement, which requires a small size for the purpose of convenient and easy transport, devices have become known in which the complete lighting device of the type described above in one Handle is housed.
The disadvantage of such devices is that a second device must also be provided which contains the necessary switching and control fittings with the power supply part. A further disadvantage is that in these known devices an exact adjustment of the inaccessible lamp in the housing to the focal point is not possible in order to ensure the best possible utilization of the light output. To make matters worse, each new lamp has a different filament position in the lamp bulb. The replacement of the lamps is only possible if the device is completely dismantled. An additional source of error for precise adjustment is the use of lamps with a built-in concave mirror.
Other light projectors of the type mentioned at the beginning contain all devices for generating and emitting light by means of flexible light guides, the switching and control fittings and the power supply part in one housing.
However, such devices are unwieldy and heavy and because of their size would interfere in the vicinity of the place of use, which is why a longer light guide is required. This causes a greater power loss, which in turn leads to an increase in the size and cost of the device due to a correspondingly larger design of the components.
The invention is based on the object, avoiding the disadvantages mentioned, to create a light projector that combines all the elements required for light generation, the device for emitting the light to the light guide, the cooling unit and the switching and control fittings in one device and the due to the appropriate arrangement of these parts in an easily transportable hand-held device of small dimensions such as a tool can be used in a portable manner.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that a point light halogen lamp is provided as the light source and a parabolic concave mirror that can be adjusted to the filament of the lamp by means of externally accessible screws is provided as the light collection system and that in the longitudinal axis of the housing, in alignment with the lighting device, this has an electrical control device is assigned to the front mounted rotary knob.
An advantageous embodiment also consists in the fact that the lamp can be inserted and locked laterally into the housing through an opening in the outer wall. This allows the lamp to be changed quickly.
To complete the device and its usability as a normal hand tool with the possibility of connection to any standardized protective contact socket, the connection cable can be provided with a protective contact plug containing an isolating transformer. This means that the device can only be operated with one type of low voltage current.
For reasons of better starting, it is advantageous to operate the fan motor with direct current and to install a rectifier inside the rotary knob.
In order to be able to recognize the burning of the lamp from the outside, the lamp base can consist of diffuse, translucent material.
In addition, it is particularly expedient to design the connector pins for the power supply line to the lamp at the same time as fastening and locking for the lamp base.
The light projector can be designed so that it can be easily and securely attached to any workplace. For this purpose, holding members in the form of camera slide guides and / or in the form of holding magnets can be arranged on the outer wall of the housing.
In order to meet the requirements set at the beginning with regard to sufficient light output, a lamp with a bulb load of at least 3 watts per cm 2 is preferably used as the light source for the light projector.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing.
The lamp base 4 with the lamp 3 is inserted laterally into the housing 1 by means of the plug pins 2, the lamp 3 being exchangeably mounted in the socket 17 of the lamp base 4, which is preferably made of translucent plastic. The radiation of the lamp 3 occurs z. T. directly into the channel-like outlet opening 6, but is mainly collected by the concave mirror 5 and thrown into the outlet opening 6. Further optical parts can be connected in the light guide connector 7, for example a template with transparent details and an objective. Such a template, such as a template that is depicted at a large distance, is then z. B.
a light pointing arrow for demonstrating details on projected images. The motor of the fan 9 is denoted by 8 and draws in cooling air through the annular slot 10, which is located between the housing 1 and the housing cap 11, which is larger in diameter. The housing cap 11 contains the variable resistor 12 connected upstream of the lamp 3 (or variable transformer or potentiometer), which is adjusted by actuating the rotary knob 13. The power supply line, which leads to the isolating transformer 24 in the protective contact plug 25, is denoted by 14. Camera slide guides 15, which can also be equipped with holding magnets 16, are attached to the housing 1 as holding elements.
The incoming alternating current is rectified by a diode 18 which is accommodated in a recess in the rotary knob 13. An additional possibility for adjusting the focal point is to fasten the fastening ring 21 for the light guide connecting piece 7 in a longitudinally displaceable manner by means of screws 20 accessible from the outside. The concave mirror 5, which is preferably made of heat-permeable and / or heat-absorbing material, can also be adjusted from the outside by screws 22 to form the helix 19. A rubber or plastic sleeve 23 is used for low-noise storage of the fan assembly 8, 9. In order to keep the voltage losses as small as possible, the contact sockets 26 in the lamp base 4 are provided with a gold plating.
The cooling air duct is arranged so that the cooling air enters concentrically around the housing 1 through the annular slot 10 and exits in a straight line along the inner wall of the housing 1 while cooling the concave mirror 5 and the lamp 3 concentrically around the light guide connector 7 at the end.
