Hydrostastische Wellendichtung
Hydrostastic shaft seal
The present invention relates to a hydrostatic shaft seal acted upon by the working pressure, with a sealing ring and working throttle gaps.
The well-known hydrostatic shaft seals all work on the principle of hydrostatic bypass control. In this case, part of the working throttle gap is bridged by the parallel connection of a throttled secondary or control flow, thus enabling the sealing ring that forms the working throttle gap and rotating with the shaft to have a stable axial rest position. The secondary flow can be guided through a throttle line from the working pressure area into pockets in the working throttle gap or simulated by modulating the working gap thickness, e.g. B. same by conical or stepped design.
However, if one side of the pocket or a stepped design is worn away or only slightly damaged by erosion, the rotating sealing ring is brought into a new axial rest position in which it can come into contact with the stationary parts of the seal and is thus destroyed.
The invention is based on the object of reducing the sensitivity of a hydrostatic seal to erosive erosion of the seal geometry.
To solve this problem, the invention provides that a working throttle gap is provided on both flat sides of the sealing ring to determine the axial position of the sealing ring, the two working throttle gaps being connected in series so that they open and close in opposite directions.
This measure can ensure that removal of the gap surfaces results in a greater amount of leeway for the sealing ring, but contact between the sealing ring and stationary parts is avoided.
An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing.
A shaft 1 penetrates a housing 2 in a bore 3, with a pressure gradient between a space 5, the leakage flow of which has to be reduced to a minimum by the seal pushed into the bore 3 and held in place by a circlip 6.
The actual seal consists of fixed capsule parts, namely seat plates 7, 8, a spacer sleeve 9 and a spacer plate 10, which parts are all held together by screws 11 or equivalent means. In the encapsulated cavity there is a sealing ring 12, which is connected to the shaft 1 in a torque-transmitting and sealing manner via an elastic seal 13, the elastic seal 13 allowing easy axial displacement and wobbling of the sealing ring 12. Between the sealing ring 12 and the seat plates 7, 8, two working throttle gaps, namely the pressure-side gap 14 and the leak-side gap 15, which form the inlet or outlet of an intermediate pressure space 16, are hereby created.
The mode of operation of the arrangement can be described as follows: the working throttle gaps 14 and 15 form a pressure divider, the intermediate pressure of which, as a result of a wave taper 17, acts on a larger area than the working pressure that is opposite to it according to the arrangement, thus creating a balance of forces between the working pressure force and the intermediate pressure force at a certain axial Position of the sealing ring 12 is possible.
If the sealing ring 12 is pushed against the seat plate 7 from this equilibrium position, the closing of the leakage-side working throttle gap 15 and the opening of the pressure-side working throttle gap 14 result in a pressure increase in the intermediate pressure chamber 16 such that a force counteracting the disturbance arises and the sealing ring 12 moves into the equilibrium position is pushed back. In the event of a deflection in the other direction, the same mechanism also brings the sealing ring back into the same position; the equilibrium position is therefore a stable rest point of the system.
The required axial play of the sealing ring 12 in the capsule is a few hundredths of a millimeter. It can consequently be difficult to maintain this play only by means of dimensional tolerances on the spacer sleeve 9 and the sealing ring 12. This difficulty can be avoided by joint plane-parallel lapping or grinding of the sealing ring 12 and the spacer sleeve 9, the clearance being determined by the spacer plate 10.
