Continuous tape cassette for a tape recorder The invention relates to an endless tape cassette for a tape recorder. This cassette is particularly, but not exclusively, intended for use in tape recorders for two-reel cassettes, that is to say in tape recorders that have been used up to now for non-endless tapes.
Tape recorders for two-reel cassettes are known and have become popular in small versions. Not only are they small, but they are also easy to use.
However, endless tape and cassettes basically have many advantages for sound recording and playback and would be relatively trouble-free. However, previously known endless tape cassettes have not been satisfactory because endless tapes have not been able to be driven at high speed until now.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of previous continuous tape cassettes. The endless tape cassette according to the invention is characterized by a rotatably mounted tape reel with an endless tape wound on it, a high-speed drive pulley for the latter and through at least one opening adjacent to a free tape path to pass around a recording / playback drive shaft and take it with it onto the tape let it act.
In a special embodiment, the cassette can be used in known tape recorders, so also in sol chen in two-reel cassettes for non-endless audio tapes, where high speeds Ge can be achieved. The cassette according to the invention also makes it possible to avoid practically significant speed fluctuations and vibrations.
The drawing shows in addition to a known two reel tape cassette and a known sound tape device some example embodiments of the endless tape cassette according to the invention.
1 is a plan view of the known two-reel audio tape cassette after the cover has been removed. FIG. 2 is a section along the line II-II of FIG.
FIG. 3 is a front view of the cassette according to FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a schematic plan view of part of a tape recorder on which the cassette is used.
FIGS. 5 to 7 are, with the cover lifted off, outlines of three exemplary embodiments of the subject of the invention, and FIG. 8 shows a section from FIG. 7 on a larger scale.
The illustrated in Figs. 1 to 3, known two reel tape cassette 10 is flat in shape and has an upper and a lower housing part 11 and 12 (Figure 3). Two openings passing through the parts 11 and 12 are arranged so that they are aligned with the shaft 17 of the delivery reel or the shaft 18 of the take-up reel when the cassette is inserted into the tape recorder 19 according to FIG. To control the various operations of the tape recorder 19 (Figure 4) buttons 20a to 20e are provided on this. In the cassette 10, a pair of reels 21 and 22 are rotatably mounted.
As FIG. 2 shows, projections or collars 23 and 24 are provided on the inside of the upper and lower housing parts 11 and 12, respectively, which are inserted into round recesses 26 on both sides of the coils 21 and 22 einrei fen to store the latter rotatably in the cassette. Each reel 21 and 22 has a central opening 27 and 28 and teeth 29 and 31 projecting into these openings. These teeth come into engagement with one or more pins 32 and 33 of the output shaft 17 and the take-up shaft 18 of the cassette tape recorder 19 for the purpose of driving the reels by the shafts 17 and 18 when the cassette 10 is placed on the tape recorder 19.
The cassette 10 has on one of its side surfaces 39 windows 36, 37 and 38 (FIG. 3) through which a pressure roller 41, an erase head 42 and a recording and playback head 43 of the tape recorder 19 are brought into contact with the tape 44 will.
When rewinding the tape 44 on the reel 21, the shaft 17 is driven by a drive mechanism, not shown, at high speed in the upwind direction, during which rotary movement the pressure roller 41, the erase head 42 and the recording and playback head 43 are lifted from the tape 44 are. When the tape 44 moves forward rapidly, the take-up shaft 18 is driven in the forward direction by a drive mechanism, also not shown. In this case too, pressure roller 41, erase head 42 and recording and playback head 43 are kept out of contact with tape 44. Belt pulleys 46 and 47 are mounted in the cassette 10 near corners of the same ben.
The cassette 10 also has an opening 48 into which a recording / playback drive shaft 49 of the tape recorder 19 protrudes.
For use, the two-reel cassette 10 is inserted into the recess 51 of the tape recorder 19, the shafts 17 and 18 entering the spool openings 27 and 28 and the teeth 29 and 31 of the Spu len with the pins 32 and 33 of the shafts 17 and 18 of the tape recorder 19 come into engagement.
The erase head 42 and the recording and playback head 43 are brought through the window 36 and 37 of the cassette with the tape 44 in contact and the pressure roller 41 is moved through the window 38 against the tape 44 to this against the recording - Playback drive shaft 49 to press. In this operating state, the tape 44 is ben driven in a known manner for sound recording or playback.
The illustrated embodiments of the endless tape cassette according to the invention can be used in the usual, known cassette tape recorder 19. An endless tape reel with a central opening is rotatably coupled to one of the two Wel len 17 and 18, while a disc or roller is placed on the other shaft, which disc is assigned a mechanism for overdrive rotation.
Those parts which in the cassette 51 according to FIG. 5 are the same or similar to the known parts according to FIGS. 1 to 3 are provided with the same reference numerals. The endless tape reel 52, which can be coupled to the output shaft 17 of the tape recorder 19, has a flange 54 on one end face and has a central opening 53 for receiving the shaft 17.
However, the spool 52 has no teeth in the opening 53 and the latter is of such a size that the shaft 17 with its pins 32 (FIG. 4) loosely engages in the opening 53, so the spool 52 is rotatable relative to the shaft 17. The rotation of the shaft 17 is therefore not transmitted to the endless belt reel 52. A roller or disk 56 that can be placed on the take-up shaft 18 of the tape recorder 19 has a central opening 57. The disk 56 has teeth 55 which are intended to engage with the pins 33 of the shaft 18 of the tape recorder 19. The disk 56 is axially secured in a manner not shown by the bottom wall and the lid wall of the cassette 51.
The disc 56 can be the same as the hub of the spool 52 with the exception that this disc 56 has the teeth 55. Inside the cassette 51, a roller 61 is rotatably mounted on a lever 62 which can be pivoted about an axis 63 of the cassette. A spring 64 acting on the lever 64 has the tendency to press the roller 61 from outside the loop against the disk 56 in order to thereby drive the belt 44 by means of the disk 56 for its rapid transport.
The endless tape 44 wound on the reel is drawn off from the innermost tape turn at 66 and is rewound on the outermost tape turn 67.
When the cassette 52 is placed on the tape recorder 19, the endless tape 44 is pulled off the reel 52 during the sound recording or playback by the recording / playback drive shaft 49 and the pressure roller 41 of the tape device 19, between which two rollers it is gripped. The belt 44 runs over the pulleys 46 and 47 and between the disk 56 and the roller 61. The tension in the endless belt 44 rotates the spool 52 so that it winds the belt 44 again.
Since in this operating state the endless tape 44 is driven only by the take-up playback drive shaft 49 and the pressure roller 41 of the tape recorder, it moves in the smooth, smooth manner suitable for sound recording and playback.
For overdrive of the endless tape 44 one presses the overdrive button 20d (Fig. 4) of the Tonbandge advises 19. This causes the erase head 42, recording and playback head 43 and the pressure roller 41 to be lifted from the endless tape 44. At the same time, the take-up shaft 18 with the disk 56 coupled to it is driven at high speed, so that the belt 44 pressed by the roller 61 onto the disk 56 is moved by the latter at high speed until the desired point on the belt is reached.
Thus, the tape 44 is driven by the take-up playback drive shaft 49 and pressure roller 41 during normal operations, but can be rapidly advanced by the pulley 56, shaft 18 and roller 61 during an overdrive operation.
The cassette 71 according to the embodiment according to FIG. 6, similar to the example according to FIG. 5, an endless tape reel 52, a disc 56 and a roller 72, but with the difference that the tape reel 52 can be loosely rotatably placed on the take-up shaft 18 of the tape device 19 and the disc 56 can be coupled to the output shaft 17. Here, too, the roller 72 mounted on a lever 73 loaded by a spring 75 brings the band 44 to the disk 56 to rest. The lever 73 is pivotably mounted on a shaft 74 in the cassette 71.
On the front surface of the erase head 42 stiftar term projections 76 are provided at the lower edge, but the movement of the erase head 42 on the tape 44 pass. These projections 76 press during the sound recording and playback on the arm of the lever 73 turned away from the roller 72 and hold the lever 73 and the roller 72 in the position of the lever 73 and roller 72 obtained in broken lines from the disk 56.
During the sound recording and playback, the innermost turn 66 is pulled off the spool 52 by the cooperation of the recording / playback drive shaft 49 with the pressure roller 41. The tape moves between the disc 56 and the roller 72, which is at a distance from the latter, over the pulleys 46 and 47. The tension of the tape 44 rotates the spool 52 so that this the tape on the outermost Winding 67 winds up again. During this operation, the projections 76 of the erasing head 42 hold the lever 73 in the position shown in broken lines.
The tape 44 is moved forward very gently by the take-up playback drive shaft 49 and the pressure roller 41.
For high speed of the endless tape 44, the tape recorder 19 is brought into its winding operating state by pressing the button 20c. The erase head 42, the recording and playback head 43 and the pressure roller 41 are therefore lifted off the tape 44. The projections 76 of the erasing head 42 move outward and allow the spring 75 to bring the lever 73 with the roller 72 into the working position shown in solid lines. The delivery shaft 17 is moved at high speed in the winding direction and the endless tape 44 pressed against the disk 56 by the roller 72 is transported by the disk 56 at high speed.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 and 8, the identical continuous tape reel 52 is accommodated in a cassette 81. A disk 82 mounted in the cassette 81 has on its periphery a recess 83 which is essentially triangular when viewed from the front. The disk 82 has teeth 86 which can be brought into engagement with the pins 32 of the shaft 17 of the tape recorder 19. A ring 87 is loosely rotatably seated on the disc 82 and is normally in frictional contact with the endless belt 44. A ball or roller 88 of hard material, such as. B.
Steel is movably housed in the recess 83 to complete a one-way clutch. During the sound recording and reproduction, the innermost turn of the tape is unwound from the spool 52 by the cooperation of roller 49 and pressure roller 41 and pulled through a friction engagement surface 89 of ring 87 and over deflection rollers 46 and 47. The tension of the tape turns the reel 52 so that it winds the endless tape on the outer turn.
Since the shaft 17 does not rotate in this operating state, the ring 87 rotates freely under the frictional effect of the moving belt 44 because the ball 88 cannot become wedged between ring 87 and disk 82. The endless tape 44 is therefore only driven by the cooperation of the recording # playback drive shaft 49 and the pressure roller 41 in such a way that it executes a smooth movement.
For high speed of the endless tape 44, the winding switch button 20c is actuated and the tape recorder 19 is thereby switched to the winding operation. In this case, the shaft 17 rotates with the disk 82 at high speed in the winding direction because the ball 88 is wedged between disk 82 and ring 87 and the latter is carried along. The ring 87 transports the belt 44 as a result of the friction contact between it and the surface 89 of the ring 87 at high speed. Instead of the overrunning clutch (83, 88) could be another only in one direction of rotation of the disc (82) acting hitch ment, z. B. a ratchet clutch.
Although in the present examples the pressure roller 41 is not installed in the cassette, but rather in the Tonbandge device, the pressure roller can be arranged on the cassette in other embodiments.
The disk 56 with the roller 61, or 72 or the disk 82 with the ring 87 and the coupling 83, 88 forms a high speed drive mechanism housed in the cassette. The flange 54 of the spool 52 can, if desired, be omitted.
The cassette can also be used on a tape recorder which has only one shaft instead of two shafts 17 and 18.
