3, n) dans 1 < i fenêtre correspondante.
Tennis Score Indicator Panel The present invention relates to a tennis score indicator panel for attachment to an umpire chair.
We know of two other means of this kind. The first is made up of two separate devices, either tin for each player or for each team, the second is based on a rather complicated ruler system. One therefore takes up a fair amount of space and the other is relatively difficult to handle.
The object of the present invention is, on the one hand, to display the state of the score and the names of the players on a single panel and, on the other hand, to facilitate the work of the referee, he uses it.
The object of the invention consists in a rigid plate pierced with four windows in the form of a truncated circular sector, that is to say two upper and two lower, in which appear the figures inscribed on four:
movable elements each held by a screw and a wing bolt on the back of the plate, the four elements being constituted by two toothed wheels corresponding to the upper windows indicating the clearances and) by two half-wheels corresponding to the windows the lower sides indicating the sets, a transverse glass stripe being additionally affixed to the front of the plate to re-inscribe the names of the players.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention. FIG. 1 is a quick view of the front of the panel, that is to say the side that the public sees.
Fig. 2 is a view of the back of the panel, that is to say read from the side handled by the referee.
The fi-, 3 is a view of the first face of one of the toothed holes.
Fig. -1 is a view of the second face of one of the toothed faces.
Fig. 5 is a view of the front of one of the half-wheels. Fig. 6 is a view of the back of one of the half-wheels. The panel shown consists of a plate pierced with two upper windows (fig. I, a and b) and two lower windows (fig. 1, c and d).
A median transverse glass strip is attached to the front of 1 <i plate (fig. 1, e).
On the back of the plate are fixed the following four elements, each by a screw and a wing bolt - in the upper part, two toothed wheels (fig. 2, f and g) on which are inscribed the large numbers 0 to 9 on one side (fig. 3, n) and 10 to 19 on the other side (fig. -1, o); each of these large numbers is surmounted by a smaller number (fig. 3, p and fig. -1, p) placed at the top of each tooth of the wheel:
this small number indicates which is the large number which is on the same portion of the wheel, but on the other side; - on the lower part, half-wheel skies, on the front of which are inscribed the large numbers 1, 0, 2 (fig. 5) and on the back of which are inscribed the small numbers I, 0, 2 (fig. 6) .
The four lines (j, k. 1, ni) indicated on the back of the third plate above the toothed wheels and half-wheels are reference points to which the teeth of the toothed wheels and the small numbers of the half-wheels correspond respectively. wheels.
Here is now how to use the object of the invention. At the start of a game of tennis, the panel is fixed on an umpire's chair and its four windows show the large number 0 (fig. 3, n); so that this is the case, the toothed wheels, on the one hand, are arranged in such a way that that of their teeth at the top of which is inscribed the small number 0 (fig. -l, p) is exactly in the 'axis of the jet marks k, and the half-wheels, on the other hand, are arranged so that the small number 0 (Fig. 6) is exactly in the axis of the marks 1 and ni.
In addition, the names of each player are written with a felt-tip pen on the glass strip, so that the public immediately sees that the numbers appearing in the windows on the left, respectively on the right, indicate the results. obtained by the player inscribed on the left, respectively right part of the glass strip (fig. 1, e).
As soon as a player wins the first game of the game, the referee places in the axis of the mark j or k the tooth containing the small number 1 (fig. 4, p) of the toothed wheel corresponding to the player who just won this game, which makes the big number 1 (fig. 3, n) appear in 1 <i corresponding window. If that same player wins the second game, then the referee moves the same toothed wheel until the small number 2 is in line with the mark, and so on.
The principle is the same as regards the indication of the games won by the other player, as well as for the indication of the sets won by each player. In the latter case, however, it is not a tooth, but directly a small number (fig. 6) which corresponds with the mark. Moreover, as soon as one of the players obtains a tenth game, the referee changes the face of the toothed wheel, in order to display in the corresponding window the numbers 10 and following (fig. 4, o).
The referee easily makes this change by () both the wing bolt, which he will replace after changing the face of the toothed wheel.
At the end of the game, player names can easily be deleted and replaced with new names for a game that is contested immediately after the previous one on the same court.
