Tradable agent which, together with acidic or acid-forming catalysts in hydrocarbons or chlorinated hydrocarbons that are volatile at below 150 C, is suitable for making textiles crease-resistant,
which at least partially contains natural cellulose and / or regenerator cellulose fibers. Textiles made from cellulose or regenerator cellulose fibers have long been treated with aqueous solutions of aminoplast precondensates of the most varied types or compounds formed by other synthetic resins with acidic or acid-forming hardeners and subsequent drying any subsequent heating made crease-, shrink- and swell-proof.
It is also known to carry out such equipment with liquors which contain water and a water-miscible organic solvent.
For example, textiles according to US Pat. No. 3,043,719 are treated with liquors which, in addition to a precondensate reacting with the fiber and a catalyst, contain a small amount of water and a large amount of solvent from the group of acetone or methyl ethyl ketone. This process has the disadvantage of the volatility and flammability of such solvents.
If the liquor contains large amounts of water, e.g. According to British patent specification No. 971 047, there is considerable fiber swelling and the other phenomena also correspond to working in an aqueous medium.
The French patent specification no. 1 174859 , which corresponds to the German Auslegeschrift no. 1 086205 , describes the crease-proofing of textiles by treatment with aqueous solutions of aminoplast-forming compounds and Hardeners to which 6-1770 an organic solvent that is insoluble or sparingly soluble in water has been added.
There is a two-phase mixture and the solvent should facilitate the penetration of solid tissues with the aqueous liquor. Basically the same is already described in Example 13 of British Patent No. 537,971.
In principle, this process also applies to treatments with aqueous liquors, i.e. to a procedure in the one ;. Reduction of the swelling value, which causes a reduced moisture absorption of the tissue, and at the same time an increased shrinkage occurs and, in addition, sensitive tissue cannot be finished, whereby the fibers pass into a swollen state, and the organic liquid used as a separate phase can lead to irregularities in the Equipment University, lead.
According to Austrian patent specification No. 242 096, textiles are finally made crease-resistant by using crosslinking synthetic resin precondensates with the amount of water required to achieve a water content of 3-107o of the weight of the goods and, at the same time, an acidic or alkaline crosslinking catalyst in a non-aqueous solution or in emulsion in one applies indifferent organic solvent to the goods. In this process, the goods are not soaked in the usual way with a liquor. but only treated with a limited, precisely dosed amount of liquor, which requires special devices.
According to British Patent No. 5-14,157, it is also known to use paste-like emulsions for textile treatment which, in the aqueous phase, contain formaldehyde, alkali metal caseinate and a substance which forms condensation products with formaldehyde, e.g. Urea, guanidine and melamine, and in the oily phase an organic, water-immiscible solvent with a boiling point between approx. 100 and 250 ° C.
These pasty emulsions are used as a finishing agent or as a basis for printing inks, with particular mechanical devices being necessary for the application. Practically no crease resistance is imparted to the treated fabric.
The agent according to the invention is characterized in that it is a stable mixture of 25-60% by weight of a water-soluble methylol derivative of urea or cyclic alkylene urea, the methylol groups of which are optionally etherified by monohydric saturated alcohols with 1-5 carbon atoms, 25-65 wt. 7o water and 10-35 wt. 7, emulsifier,
which is miscible with the methylol derivative and has an HLB number of 3-13.
The agent can contain up to 35% by weight of a liquid hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon that is volatile at temperatures below 150 ° C.
Highly methylolated 1-ureas are suitable as precondensates, those with about 1.5 methylol groups are less useful. Ivlethylol derivatives of cyclic alkyleneureas with 5- to 6-membered rings are particularly suitable. The etherification products of all these methylolureas with lower, monohydric alcohols can also be used.
In addition, an average of about 10-20% by weight, optionally etherified methylotmelarrins, may also be present; at a higher content, as with methylolmelamines themselves, usable emulsions can no longer be produced.
The emuleators must be miscible with the resin and at the same time have an HLB number of 3 to 13, in particular 3 to 8.5. This HLB number according to Griffin (J.
Soc. Cosm. Chem. 1949, 311) provides information about the hydrophilic - lipophilic equilibrium of an emulsifier. With an HLB value below #_, the lipophilic property predominates, with one above 11 more the hydrophilic property.
In the context of the present invention, of the emulators with an HLB number of 11 to 13, some ionic emulators, which are detergent substances, are particularly useful. Under mischbar is to be understood as a behavior in which mixtures are formed in which no phase separation occurs.
The chemical constitution of the emulator, namely whether it is nonionic, anionic or cationic, plays a subordinate role in the present invention.
The following may be mentioned as suitable emulsifiers, stating the HLB number: oleic acid monoethanolamide with 7 ethoxy groups (9, 4), stearic acid monoethylamide with 7 ethoxy groups (9.5), coconut fatty acid propanolamide with 4 ethoxy groups (7, 8), glycerol monocaprinate (3 .
5), the polyglycol ethers of dodecylamine with 3 ethoxy groups (7, 8), stearic acid tri äthanolaminester with 2 ethoxy groups (3.5), furthermore the sodium salt of the dodecylsulfuric acid ester (7, 5), the alkali salt of the dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (11) or the a mineral oil sulfonate (7). Mixtures of emulsifiers can also be used.
Such mixtures consist, for example, of the same files of the polyglycol ethers of cetyl and stearyl alcohol with 5 ethoxy groups each (7, 2) or of the ethoxylated oleic acid tnonoethanol amide with ethoxylated bodecylamine (8, 8), the sodium acid salt of dodecylbenzylbenzyl with nonylphenol polyglycol ether (11-13),
of Lorol polyglycol ether with 2 ethoxy groups and the sodium salt of the sulfuric acid ester of this polyglycol ether (11-13) or the acetate of distearyl diethylenetriamide and the formate of coconut fatty acid atenide (7).
The curing catalysts which can be used for the use of the claimed agent are known and can be used in amounts of 6-25% by weight, based on the methylol compounds. 20-60% aqueous solutions of zinc chloride or zinc nitrate and the hydrochloride of 2-amino-2-methylpropanol have proven particularly useful, but magnesium chloride or ammonium salts are also suitable.
The agents according to the invention can be prepared in any order. In general, the methylol compounds and the emulsifier are mixed uniformly. If necessary, some solvent can be added with thorough stirring to form a stable mass. This measure is preferably used when the methylol compounds are viscous or pasty and only slowly dissolve in the solvent.
After the addition of a catalyst, the compositions according to the invention can be converted into almost clear to opalescent or finely dispersed stable water using the water-insoluble solvents mentioned; Oil emulsions are diluted, which are then suitable as treatment liquors. These liquors generally contain at least 50%. mainly 75-90ö, of the solvent mentioned, depending on the intended use.
Textiles which have been impregnated with such liquors, freed from the excess liquor and dried, and which are expediently reheated to temperatures of 110-170 ° C., have excellent crease resistance effects, which are in some cases higher than those synthetic resin and synthetic resins used with aqueous liquors Catalyst concentration - but of course without emulsifier - and are obtainable under the same finishing conditions.
This process also offers the advantage of saving energy during drying and the possibility of even very sensitive fabrics. which would lose shine or shape when impregnated with aqueous liquors.
In addition to the agents according to the invention and the catalysts, suitable plasticizers, fillers or agents for water- or oil-repellent impregnation can also be used. The liquors produced in this way are used to treat textile materials of all kinds made of natural cellulose and / or re2enerated cellulose fibers as well as their mixtures with wool.
Silk, Acetatreyon and all fully synthetic fibers aeei unit. The mechanical devices which can be used for the treatment of textiles with non-aqueous liquors, which are provided with recovery systems for the organic solvents or can be combined with such, can be used. The machines used in so-called chemical cleaning can also be used.
The textiles can, however, also be sprayed with only slightly diluted agents according to the invention, whereby even larger amounts of solvent need not be removed. Example I 1000 g of a clear, aqueous 50% solution of dimethylolpropyleneurea are uniformly mixed with 350 g of an approx. 100% emulsifier based on oleic acid monoethanolamide,
which is ethoxylated with 7 glycol ether residues (HLB number 9.4), mixed.
Before preparing the equipment liquor, 140 ccm of a 50% aqueous solution; of zinc chloride, which has been adjusted to pH 1.5 with hydrochloric acid, is stirred in and made up to 10 liters of liquor by adding about 8.5 liters of perchlorethylene. This represents a very fine, stable emulsion.
A white, mercerized cotton poplin with a square meter weight of 128 can be treated with this liquor on a suitable machine by soaking, squeezing off the excess liquor, drying in the wide state and condensing at a temperature of 150 C for 4 minutes and shows a very good quality Crease removal in dry condition and good in wet condition with relatively good retention of tear resistance.
The table below shows that when the equipment is finished in a conventional manner in an aqueous medium using the same crosslinking agent in the bleach concentration and the same catalyst, significantly less good results are obtained.

If fine-thread cotton sateen is padded with this liquor, dried and condensed at 145 C for 5 minutes, it has very good dry crease resistance with a soft handle and its gloss is not impaired in contrast to a corresponding finish with an aqueous liquor. Example .i 1000 c 75c-oil dimethylolglyoxalmonourein are ethoxylated with 300B octadecylamine,
which contains 7 glycol residues and has an HLB number of 10.8 , stirred to a homogeneous mixture. This contains 587 of the precondensate, 23 7, emulsifier and 197, water.
180 ml of a 40% aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate can then be stirred in and diluted to 10 liters with trichlorethylene.
It is also possible to dilute with perchlorethylene or gasoline, but in the latter case the emulsion formation is less easy. At first 1500 ml of gasoline are added using a high-speed stirrer and the emulsion thus formed can then easily be diluted to 10 l to the treatment liquor with gasoline. If a fine-thread cotton sateen is padded with this liquor, dried and condensed at 145 C for 5 minutes, it receives very good dry crease resistance with a soft handle and its gloss is not impaired in contrast to a corresponding finish with an aqueous liquor.
For use, 25 parts by weight of a 35% strength aqueous solution of crystallized magnesium nitrate can also be stirred in and then diluted with trichlorethylene to form a water-in-oil emulsion. This is u. a. for finishing a batiste made of 50C /, viscose cellulose and 507, polyester fibers with very good results.
Example 4 1000 g of a 30 J, aqueous solution of an equal mixture of mono- and dimethylolethylene urea are mixed with 400 g of ethoxylated coconut fatty acid propanolamide, which contains 4 ethoxy groups (HLB number 7, 8) .
This solution can be added to 150 g of a 40% aqueous magnesium nitrate solution and the whole thing thinned to 10 liters by stirring in perchlorethylene, so that a colloidal solution is formed that is suitable for crease-free equipment. Example 5 A similarly usable agent is obtained by mixing 1000g of a 70c /, i-en aqueous solution of dimethyloldihydroxyethylene urea with 300 g of ethoxylated stearic acid monoethylamide, which contains about 7 ethoxy groups (HLB number 9.5) .
It can be used together with 200 g of a 30 J aqueous solution of monoethanolamine hydrochloride as a hardening agent and 8.5 liters of chlorinated hydrocarbon solvent.
Example 6 An equally useful mixture is obtained from 1 k g dimethylolpropyleneurea (707cie) and 0.27 kg of a mixture of polyglycol ethers of cetyl and des Stearyl alcohol with 5 glycol ether groups each, which has an HLB number of 7.2.
From this homogeneous mixture, which contains 557, precondensate, 2117, emulsifier and 247c water, an emulsion is obtained after stirring in 0.16 kg of a 50 own aqueous zinc chloride solution, which is diluted with 8.6 liters of gasoline to form a usable treatment liquor can be.
Example 7 From 1000 g of dimethylolglyoxalmonourein (757, tg), 300 g of a 507 strength aqueous solution which contains the form of coconut fatty acid amide and the acetate of stearic acid amide of diethylenetriamine, and 300 g Trichlorethylene is also a usable product by mixing with a high-speed stirrer.
The emulsifier used has an HLB number of 7. 100 ml of a concentrated aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate are stirred into this emulsion and it can then be used for textile treatment after dilution with 8.4 liters of trichlorethylene.
Example 8 1000e of a 507 i-en aqueous solution of a dimethylolurea etherified about halfway by methanol, 300 g of an 80% sodium salt of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (HLB number 12) results in a mixture of 38% methylol compound, 197o emulsifier and 42% water.
It can be used with 200 g of a 37% 2-amino-2-methylpropanol hydrochloride solution as a hardening agent in an emulsion made with 8.5 liters of perchlorethylene.
Example 9 1000 g of a pasty product which contains 45c /, dimethylolurea and 57 of a pentamethylolmelamine largely etherified by methanol, is mixed with 200 g of an emulsifier which is derived from the mixture consists of equal amounts of the sodium salt of Lorol's sulfuric acid ester and a Lorol polyglycol ether with about 7 ethoxy groups and has an HLB number of 12,
and mixed with 200 g of toluene using a high speed stirrer. The resulting emulsion contains 36% methylol compound, 147 ° emulsifier, 36% water and 14% solvent, is mixed with 200 g of a 307% aqueous solution of monoethanolamine hydrochloride as hardening agent and can be mixed with 8.4 liters of toluene Application can be diluted.
Example I D 1000 g of a 56 paste aqueous solution of dimethyloldihydroxyethylene urea are evenly mixed with 350 g of a stearic acid triethanolamine ester which contains 2 glycol ether groups and has an HLB number of 3.5.
In this homogeneous mixture, which contains 41.57o precondensate, 267, emulsifier and 32.57o water, 140 ml of a 507o aqueous solution of zinc chloride can be stirred and then by adding about 8, Add 5 liters of perchlorethylene or petrol to 10 liters, creating a very fine, stable emulsion. The one made with perchlorethylene is particularly resistant.
A white, mercerized cotton poplin with a square meter weight of 128 can be treated with this liquor on a suitable machine by soaking, squeezing off the excess liquor, drying in the open state and condensing at a temperature of 150 C for 4 minutes and shows a Very good wrinkle removal when dry and good when wet with good retention of tear resistance.
