Core drilling device The main patent claims a core drilling device with at least one insert with a wedge-shaped support in the drill head.
The present invention represents a further development of this core drilling device. Its purpose is to prevent damage to the drill head in the event of insert breakage, and is characterized in that braking means are arranged on the drill head.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention will then be explained with reference to the drawing. 1 shows a view of a core drill with broken parts, FIG. 2 shows a section along line II-II of FIG.
The reference numbers used in the figures of the main patent have been adopted for the present embodiment, provided that the parts are the same.
In Fig. 1, the core drill 1 is shown with the drill shank 3. In the core drill 1, a core 11 is shown for the purpose of better understanding, which protrudes from the part of the core drill 1 shown on both sides. In the four recesses 15, 16, 17 and 18, the four indexable inserts 35, 36, 37 and 38, preferably made of hard metal, are installed. The Festhal th is done by means of an Allen screw 25, which is introduced through a tangentially arranged in the drill head 4 Publ opening 23 and can be screwed to the clamp holder 20.
The four chip discharge channels, of which the discharge channel 30 is designated, are distributed symmetrically over the circumference of the drill head 4. As the name suggests, they serve to carry away the chips.
If a cutting edge fracture occurs in one of the indexable inserts 35 to 38, either the bore becomes narrower or the core 11 becomes larger, with the result that the drill head, if no protection is provided, is damaged when turning further. In order to avert such damage, braking means are provided in the form of overrun cams 91, 92, 93 and 94, which are fastened to the end face of the drill head 4 with the aid of screws 96. On the outside of the drill head 4, run-up strips 98, 99, 100 and 101 are also distributed evenly over the circumference and let into grooves created for this purpose, preferably shrink-fitted.
Furthermore, the drilling shaft 3 is equipped with guide pins 104, 105 106 and 107, which are screwed into the drill shaft 3, for example in the form of grub screws, and according to the core diameter and the desired play between the core and the bolt are adjustable in length.
If the cutting edge breaks, it is no longer possible for the drill head 4 to come into direct contact with the workpiece due to the run-on cams 91 to 94 and the run-up strips 98 to 101, which represent braking elements. Because these braking means come to rest on the workpiece and, since they are made of hard metal or high-speed steel, increase the torsional resistance for the drive. So you rub on the larger core diameter or on the narrower bore. As a result of the increase in friction compared to normal machining, the power consumed by the drive motor increases considerably.
By installing a thermal release, the machine tool is automatically switched off if the cutting edge breaks, as the power consumption of the drive motor rises above the normal overload value and the heat package switches off the power switch. This measure takes place so quickly that the core drilling device comes to a standstill and extends before the braking means are rubbed through and the drill head would run up.
The approach cams 91 to 94 also have the additional task of guiding the core 11 together with the hard metal or high-speed steel bolts 104 to 107 so that at the end of the drilling operation this core 11 slides out of the core drill without the cutting edges of the insert 35 to 38 to damage.
By attaching the run-up strips 98 to 101, oil pressure pockets 82 are created which, fed by oil grooves 83 and distribution channels 84, ensure a pressure oil storage of the core drill head in the workpiece.
