Toto stencil The invention relates to a tote stencil for the systematic filling out of three-column tip totes.
The three-column tip division on the tote sheet was introduced in order to assign each of the 3 tip characters 1, X and 2 its own field, and thus to enable machine evaluation through optical recognition.
This results in a particular difficulty for the tipster, since the originally single tip field expands into 3 parts, whereby only 1 single field per tip column may be filled out.
The object of the invention is to make it easy to fill in the coupons and to exclude errors, but at the same time to enable line-by-line entry in systematic alternation according to personal prognosis.
With the Toto template, this is achieved by providing 14 lines of round and oval holes, with the round holes being intended to reveal individual and the oval holes being intended to reveal two adjacent tip fields, for the purpose of filling out dead notes line by line, error-free of the exposed fields.
In the following an embodiment of the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing voltage. The figures show: FIG. 1 the front side of the template, FIG. 2 the three column tip division of the tote sheet and FIG. 3 the rear side of the template.
The template shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 comprises a total of 14 perforated lines, distributed in three horizontal zones which are separated by two dividing lines.
The 1st zone contains 8 system lines, marked on the left with the letters A to H and the punched tip combination (1, X and 2). Lines A, B, C and D are combinations with all 3 tip characters (in technical language = three-way), lines E, F, G and H are combinations with 2 of 3 tip characters (technical language = two-way). This distinction is also made on the right edge with the imprint three-way and two-way, each subdivided with a short line.
The 2nd zone comprises two one-way lines (technical language = banks), i.e. a single tip symbol per line. The lines are also marked with the associated tip symbol - without letters - and marked with banks on the right edge. The 3rd zone comprises a further 4 lines with the designations E to H. The lines correspond in the sequence of alternation to lines E to H in zone 1, but contain a different combination of tip characters (1 and 2). Accordingly, this zone is marked on the right-hand side with the designation exchange two-way.
Each line has holes for 12 tip fields, which correspond to the division of the three-column tip coupon and the correct number of tip characters. The round holes reveal a single tip field. The oval holes meet the combination of tip 2 of one column and tip 1 of the next column, which in this case encompass two adjacent tip fields.
The template holes are punched in a systematic alternation in the following sequence, expressed in letters:

Two more combinations are created from the same A to H: Lines A to F: Result at least 1 column with 4 points (from 6 games), if the missing combination c does not occur in lines E and F.
Row A and rows E to H: Result of at least 1 column with 4 points (from 5 games) if the missing combination c does not occur in rows E to H.
The tape of the template is 15 mm away from the front most row of holes and has the task of finding the point on the tote sheet when using it, as shown in FIG. The right edge has the same dimensions and does the same for the back.
This dimension of the template causes the meaning of the holes for the tip fields 1 and 2 to be reversed when turned to the back, whereas the middle tip fields holes X retain their meaning. This fact is used for lines E to H in the 1st zone. to convert tip variants 1 and X (front, Fig. 1) on the opposite side into variants 2 and X (back, Fig. 3). Together with the lines E to H in the 3rd zone (1 and 2), all three possibilities for each tip combination E to H (two-way) are available.
The edge markings are used to identify the lines. The tote participant writes this down on the tote sheet when making his prognosis in front of the mooring line (Fig. 2, a) and uses it as a feature to find the line height on the template: If the template combination is identical to the one Participant prognosis is at the same level and the edge of the template is at the point of application, the indicators on this line enable the relevant tip fields to be ticked.
