16c her auszuschrauben.
Power-operated clamping device for machine tools The invention relates to a power-operated clamping device for machine tools for the optional actuation of jaw chucks or collets with interchangeable clamping cartridges.
Such clamping devices for machine tools are known. The clamping member of the jaw chuck or the collet is actuated in these devices via a pull rod guided through a hollow spindle by a clamping cylinder which is attached to the other end of the spindle and to whose piston rod the pull rod can be screwed.
The known power-operated clamping devices have the disadvantage that they cannot be used for the operation of collets that have replaceable clamping cartridges for the various clamping areas. The clamping cartridges of these collets must be secured in the spindle against rotation, for which purpose a wedge engaging in a longitudinal groove of the clamping cartridge is used. This wedge makes it impossible to screw the respective clamping cartridge into the front end of the tie rod. On the other hand, since no lag screws can be used to fasten the clamping cartridges to the drawbar, these collets with exchangeable clamping cartridges could only be clamped using a manual clamping device.
The use of a clamping cylinder was not worthwhile, since the clamping cylinder would have to be removed from the spindle each time a clamping cartridge was replaced.
The invention was based on the object of avoiding the disadvantages of the known prior art and creating a power-operated clamping device for machine tools for the optional use of jaw chucks or collets with interchangeable clamping cartridges, which allows a quick and easy replacement of the various clamping cartridges of different collets and which is also suitable for the operation of jaw chucks.
For this purpose, the invention suggests, on the cylinder bottom of the clamping cylinder to store a sleeve rotatable but axially immovable, which is constantly via stops or a toothing, d. H. in all positions of the piston of the clamping cylinder, with the pull rod is positively connected in the direction of rotation.
In an advantageous embodiment, the bush is mounted on an intermediate flange which is screwed to the cylinder base of the clamping cylinder. The bushing can be guided on the piston rod of the clamping cylinder.
In order to permanently connect the bushing with the respective pull rod in a form-fitting manner in the direction of rotation, the bushing as well as the pull rod attached to the piston rod can be provided with face teeth at their abutting end, the tooth depth of the parallel-flanked teeth being greater than the stroke of the clamping piston .
So that the bush can easily be rotated from the outside, a bevel gear plate can be attached to the bush with advantage, in which a pinion geared to the spindle and rotatable from the outside engages; the pinion can be mounted in a support flange which is screwed on the one hand to the spindle and on the other hand to the clamping cylinder.
With a clamping device designed in this way, the clamping cartridges of the collets used can be exchanged in a simple manner by using a key to turn the pinion and thus the bushing rotatably mounted on the cylinder base of the clamping cylinder. During this rotation, which is transmitted via the stops or the toothing to the respective pull rod, the clamping cartridge secured against rotation in the spindle unscrews from the pull rod so that it can be easily replaced. A new clamping cartridge is tightened in the same way. On the other hand, the clamping device according to the invention can also continue to be used for the normal pull rods of jaw chucks.
These tie rods are screwed into the socket held by the pinion by means of a threaded pin and connected to the clamping member of the jaw chuck on the other side by means of a tension screw.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the clamping device according to the invention, namely: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the clamping device for operating a collet, FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the front end of the spindle with another collet, FIG. 3 shows one of the FIGS 1 corresponding longitudinal section with the jaw chuck attached to the spindle flange and FIG. 4 a cross section through the toothing between the tie rod and the bushing according to the section line IV-IV in FIG.
The clamping device has in a known manner a clamping cylinder 1 which is attached to the spindle 3 of the machine tool. In the illustrated Ausfüh approximately example, a support flange 4 is screwed onto the rear end of the spindle 3, which in turn is attached to an intermediate flange 5 via screws 11. This intermediate flange 5 is in turn connected via screws 12 to the cylinder base 1b of the clamping cylinder 1, the cylinder jacket 1a of which serves to receive the clamping piston 1c.
The adjustment of the clamping piston 1c takes place by means of compressed air, which is supplied via air lines 2a to a fixed air supply 2, which supplies the compressed air to the clamping cylinder 1 rotating with the spindle 3. The spindle 3 is provided with a spindle flange 3a to which the collet or the jaw chuck can be attached. In the illustration in Fig. 1, the collet body 16a of a collet is attached to the spindle flange 3a by means of camlock bolts 25, which has a stepped clamping cartridge 17a with a relatively large clamping diameter. This clamping cartridge 17a is guided in a collet sleeve 16b which is fastened in the conical bore of the spindle 3. This sleeve 16b can be pulled out by means of a ring nut 18 for replacement.
In the illustration in Fig. 2, another collet is shown, the collet 17b of which we have a much smaller clamping diameter. This clamping cartridge 17b is only guided in a collet sleeve 16c, which in turn is fastened in the conical bore of the spindle 3. In both collets, the collet 17a or 17b is secured against rotation re relative to the spindle 3 by a wedge 15 which is arranged between the respective collet sleeve 16b or 16c and the collet 17a or 17b.
In order to achieve the axial movement of the clamping cartridge 17a or 17b required for clamping, it is connected to the clamping piston 1c of the clamping cylinder 1 via a pull rod 9a. The front end of the pull rod 9a is provided with a screw insert 14 which can be screwed onto the thread of the clamping cartridge 17a or 17b. At the rear end, the pull rod 9a is connected to the piston rod 1d of the tensioning piston 1c via a tension screw 10.
In order to enable quick and easy replacement of the clamping cartridges 17a and 17b, which are secured against rotation by the respective wedge 15 in the spindle 3, a sleeve 6 is guided on the piston rod 1d of the clamping cylinder 1, which is rotatable but axially immovable on the cylinder base 1b of the clamping cylinder 1 is mounted. In the illustrated embodiment, the sleeve 6 is provided with an annular flange 6a, which rests against the end face of the intermediate flange 5, and is secured against axial displacement by a locking ring 6b. On the ring flange 6a of the sleeve 6, a bevel gear 7 is attached, in which a pinion 8 engages.
This pinion 8 is mounted in a bearing sleeve 13 which is fastened in the support flange 4.
By turning the pinion 8, the bevel gear 7 and with it the bush 6 is set in rotation. The sleeve 6 is continuously connected to the pull rod 9a in the direction of rotation in a form-fitting manner via stops or a toothing, so that the rotational movement is also transmitted to the pull rod 9a. This makes it possible to unscrew the clamping cartridges 17a or 17b in a simple manner by turning the pinion 8 from the respective pliers body 16b or 16c. In the illustrated embodiment, the bush 6 is connected to the tie rod 9a via a face toothing whose parallel-flanked teeth have such a tooth depth that they are still in engagement with each other even when the tensioning piston 1c is retracted.
In Fig. 3 it is shown that instead of a collet, a jaw chuck can be operated with the clamping device. In this case, after removing the collet, the tubular tie rod 9a is removed together with the tension screw 10 and in its place a tie rod 9b with its threaded pin 9c is screwed into the piston rod 1d of the clamping cylinder 1. The chuck body 20 of the jaw chuck is fastened to the spindle flange 3a by camlock bolts 25 via an intermediate ring 23 to which it is screwed by means of screws 24.
The adjustment movement of the clamping jaws 22 takes place by means of a feed piston 21 which is fastened to the tie rod 9b in a known manner by a tension screw 19.
The clamping device according to the invention is therefore not only suitable for the actuation of collets, allowing quick and easy replacement of the respective clamping cartridge, but is also suitable in a known manner for clamping and releasing jaw chucks.
