Auxiliary device for flexion and extension of the spine
The invention relates to an auxiliary device for flexing and stretching the spine of patients with intervertebral disc damage.
It is known that with the help of a device that consists of three U-shaped brackets, two of which are telescopically nested and serve to push back the thighs of the patient lying on the back, the third as a support and to lift the knees and for Achieving a sufficient stability of the arrangement is determined, the spine can be stretched.
The subject of the invention is now a simplified auxiliary device for flexion and extension of the spine, which is characterized by two brackets each formed from a U-shaped tube piece, each bracket carrying a straight tube at each of its two ends and the straight tubes at one bracket are inserted into the straight tubes on the other bracket, and a support plate for the lower legs, which is pivotably arranged on the web of the last-mentioned bracket, further characterized by a lifting device attached to each end of the last-mentioned bracket, by actuating the two U-shaped brackets are moved apart can.
Two exemplary embodiments of the auxiliary device according to the invention are illustrated in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the device as it is placed under the hollow of the knee by the patient, lifting with the help of a pulley.
Fig. 2 shows the device in the position of use, but in a second embodiment in which the lifting takes place with the aid of a lever.
FIG. 3 shows the same embodiment as FIG. 1, but from the perspective of the patient before use.
FIG. 4 shows the same embodiment as FIG. 2 from the perspective of the patient during use.
FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal section through a lateral support with a pulley system according to FIG. 1, on a larger scale.
FIG. 6 shows a longitudinal section through a lateral support with a lever according to FIG. 2, on a larger scale.
FIG. 7 shows a horizontal section through the lifting device according to FIG. 6 on an even larger scale.
FIG. 8 shows the clamping device according to FIG. 5 in section, also on an even larger scale.
The device consists mainly of two brackets A and B, which are each formed by a U-shaped bent piece of pipe. Each bracket carries a straight tube at each of its two ends, the straight tubes 1 and 26 of the bracket A being pushed telescopically into the straight tubes 11 and 30 of the bracket B, respectively.
In the embodiment with a pulley block according to FIGS. 1 and 5, the fixed bottle 2 is located in the upper end of each inner tube 1, in the lower part of which the end 3 of the pulling belt 4 is attached. This leads from here through the cavity 5 of the inner tube 1 to the roller 6 of the loose bottle 7, then to the roller 8 of the solid bottle 2, on to the roller 9 of the loose bottle 7 and finally through a nose-shaped widening 10 of the corresponding outer tube 11 in which the clamping device 12 is also located. A bracket 13 attached to the loose bottle 7, which extends out through a longitudinal groove 14 of the inner tube, carries the outer tube 11 and thus lifts it up when the loose bottle 7 is moved against the fixed bottle 2.
If the belt 4, where it emerges from the clamping device 12, is folded against the clamping piece 15 after a pull, the edges 16 of the latter (FIG. 8) hang on the belt and, when released, clamp it on the inner wall of the clamping device 12 firmly.
In the embodiment with a lever according to FIGS. 2 and 6, in which each inner tube 26 has a toothing 17, the axis 18 of a lever 19 lies in a tooth gap of the toothing 17. If the free lever end 20 is pushed down, the short ones in the Drawing shown as eccentrically arranged disks lever arms 21 with the pins 22 and the rollers 23 in the grooves 24 the outer tube 25, 30 upwards until the tab 27 of the outer tube resilient against the inner tube 26 snaps into the next higher tooth gap and the outer tube slides back prevented.
With an upward movement of the lever end 20, the pin 22 at the end of the short lever arm 21 forms the axis of rotation, and the axis 18 slides over a tooth 28 up into the next higher tooth gap, with the axis 22 and the tension spring 29 being pulled against the toothed side and in the The moment when the axis 18 has reached the next higher tooth gap, snap back. In this embodiment, the outer tube consists of a fixed upper part 30 and a lower part 25 which can be rotated about the longitudinal axis, with a locking screw
31, which can be moved in the circumferential direction in a groove 32 of the pipe part 30, which holds the two parts together.
If the lever 19 is pivoted sideways, the resilient tab 27 is rotated out of the relevant tooth gap of the toothing 17 onto the smooth pipe wall, so that it slides downwards and with it the upper part of the device. A check valve 33 at the upper end of the inner tube prevents the air from escaping from the
Spaces 34 through the bore 35 of the inner tube 26, so that it can only escape through the gap between the inner and outer tube and consequently the
Upper part of the device sinks slowly.
A protective capsule 36 is attached to protect the lifting mechanism. A support plate 37, which is supported by an arcuate tube 38 which can be pivoted about the pin 39, serves to support the lower legs. A support device 40 for the buttocks in the form of a swing seat is with
With the help of two straps 41 on the web 42 of the upper bracket B suspended so that this suspension is shortened or extended similar to a pulley system who can. A clamping device on either side of the support plate, similar to that shown in FIG. 8, allows the seat to be held at the appropriate height.
The device is now used in such a way that the patient first lies down on the bed. As shown in Fig. 1, he first pulls his knees in and pushes the device from the side under the hollows of his knees. Then he pivots the tube 38 forward (FIG. 2) and thus lifts the support plate 37 so that the calves come to rest on it. So that the seat 40 does not interfere with the operation of the lifting device, it is initially supplied behind the device (see FIGS. 1 and 3). By actuating the lifting device according to FIG. 5 or 6, the upper part of the device is pushed upwards, but also the knees and buttocks. The patient now grips the carrying device 40 with both hands and pushes it under the buttocks.
He then actuates the pulling devices on both sides of the seat by pulling the belt ends 44 downwards and then placing them against the clamping piece 15 (FIG. 8). The buttocks are pulled up again and the hollows of the knees are lifted off the upper crossbar 42, which is essential for comfortable positioning.
With this new, very simple device, all that is needed to bring the body into the correct position is an extendable frame consisting of two U-shaped brackets, which is placed between the base, for example the bed, and the hollow of the knees, which is raised by pulling the lower legs. a carrier seat is suspended from the web of the upper bracket, with which, once the upper part of the device is sufficiently lifted, the buttocks can be lifted up. Contrary to previous assumptions, this lifting process only appears to result in an unstable equilibrium.
Since the device is slightly inclined towards the patient, he brings himself into a stable position of equilibrium by tilting forwards due to the body weight hanging on the frame and tilting backwards due to the low, but existing stiffness of the
Body prevents. becomes.
