Description

EMI1.1
 in welcher
X   =-CH2CH2Cl,-CH2CH2Br,    -CH2-CH=CH2   oder-CH- (CH3)    2 und Y =-Cl oder -Br ist, so z. B.   N-DimethylWN-(ss-chloräthyl)-hydrazo-      niumchlorid.    Für gewisse Schnittblumen, wie z. B.

Nelken, können auch Substanzen der Formel
EMI1.2
in welcher R, Rl, R2 und R3 Alkyl-mit 1 bis 16 C Atomen, Allyl-, 2-Methylallyl-, Vinyl-, Acetonyl-, Benzyl-, Alkylbenzyl-, substituiertes Benzyl-, Phenyl äthyl-, 2,2-Diphenyläthylradikale oder Chlor, Jod, Brom bedeuten und X = Br, J, NO3, P04 oder S04 ist, wie z. B. Tributyl-2,4-dichlorbenzyl-phosphorchlorid.

Means for keeping cut above-ground parts of plants fresh, such as B. Cut flowers
The present invention relates to a freshness-keeping means of above-ground parts of plants, such as. B. Cut flowers.

If you cut off parts of plants above ground, such as flowers, and for a certain time, e.g. B. in vases in water, they become unsightly after a few days due to aging, loss of sap, leaf waste, etc. and must be thrown away.

A wide variety of substances have been proposed for keeping flowers fresh. It was found that sugar and hydrochloric acid together exert a synergistic effect in the sense of extending the freshness of above-ground parts of plants and that such a mixture is therefore particularly advantageously suitable for this purpose.

The agent for keeping cut above-ground parts of plants fresh according to the invention is characterized in that it is an aqueous mixture which contains 2 to 50 g of sugar and 0.2 to 1 cm of concentrated hydrochloric acid per liter of water as synergistic substances.

Sucrose or fructose, for example, can be used as sugars, preferably in amounts of 5 to 15 g / l water, while the concentrated hydrochloric acid is best used in an amount of 0.35 cm3 per liter of water.

Other active ingredients, such as. B. growth regulators, in amounts of 1 to 1000 ppm, preferably 10 to 400 ppm, are added.

Suitable substances are quaternary ammonium compounds, for example of the formula R-N (CH3) 3Y, in which R is an optionally halogen-substituted alkyl or alkylene radical with at most 4 carbon atoms and Y is a non-phytotoxic anion, in particular the chlorine or bromine ion.

Hydrazonium compounds of the following general formula can also be used:
EMI1.1
 in which
X = -CH2CH2Cl, -CH2CH2Br, -CH2-CH = CH2 or -CH- (CH3) 2 and Y = -Cl or -Br, e.g. B. N-dimethylWN- (ss-chloroethyl) hydrazonium chloride. For certain cut flowers, such as B.

Cloves, can also contain substances of the formula
EMI1.2
in which R, Rl, R2 and R3 are alkyl with 1 to 16 carbon atoms, allyl, 2-methylallyl, vinyl, acetonyl, benzyl, alkylbenzyl, substituted benzyl, phenyl ethyl, 2,2- Diphenylethyl radicals or chlorine, iodine, bromine and X = Br, I, NO3, P04 or S04, such as. B. tributyl-2,4-dichlorobenzyl phosphorus chloride. Another suitable growth-inhibiting substance is succinic acid-N ', N'-dimethyl-monohydrazide, optionally N6-benzyladenine.

Furthermore, fertilizers such as nitrophosphate potash, micronutrients or plant hormones and bactericides and / or fungicides can be added.

To maintain a certain pH value, it is advantageous to add a pH buffer system.

   Examples
Above-ground parts of plants with flowers are cut and immediately placed in the solutions listed in the table. The cut flowers are then left at room temperature until they wither.

If the flowers have become unsightly, the attempt is stopped. The examples listed in the table are the average of two tests. From the table it can be seen that the addition of sugar and hydrochloric acid together has an unexpected synergistic effect.
