Device for forming the longitudinal seam of a plastic band deformed into a tube
The present invention relates to a device for forming the longitudinal seam of a plastic strip which is deformed to form a tube and which is continuously guided past the welding point by welding together overlapping sections.
In particular, it should be a matter of laminated plastic strips, the adjacent longitudinal edges of which are welded to one another on top of one another. The plastic strips can be covered with a metal foil, e.g. B. aluminum foil, and / or paper be coated.
In all previously known devices, complicated guide elements are necessary in order to hold the longitudinal edges together properly and to guide them past the welding tools consisting of electrodes or a heated press roller interacting with a stationary base without damage.
According to the invention, the aforementioned disadvantage is avoided in a device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the welding device has a stationary anvil that can be enclosed by the plastic hose and a hammer that interacts with the anvil and is excited by ultrasound, at least in the area of the anvil acted upon by the hammer in the feed direction of the plastic tube extending grooves are attached.
The device can be used particularly advantageously in a system for the continuous production of a hose from a plastic band, with tools that deform the band into a hose and a feed device that continuously moves the material to be processed forward, in which the feed device, viewed in the production process of the system, is behind the Welding device is arranged and has two feed rollers in order to grasp the hose provided with the longitudinal weld seam and to pull it forward continuously.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, for example. It shows:
1 shows the rear part of a system in longitudinal section for the continuous production of a hose from a plastic strip,
2 shows the front part of the system adjoining the rear part according to FIG. 1 in a longitudinal section,
3 shows the rear part of the system according to FIG. 1 in plan view,
4 shows the front part of the system according to FIG. 2 in plan view,
5 shows a detail of a cross section along the line V-V in FIGS. 2 and
6a-f show the respective cross-section of the band to be deformed into a tube at points A-F in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The system shown in FIGS. 1-4 for the continuous production of a hose from a plastic band has a circular cylindrical core tube 1 around which the plastic band is deformed to form a hose. The core tube 1 extends through the entire system and is clamped at its rear end in a bearing block 2 supported on the machine frame.
Various stations are attached along the core tube 1 at which the plastic strip is subjected to corresponding treatment steps. In the following, the various stations will be described in greater detail one after the other according to the production process.
A funnel-shaped guide trough 3 is arranged at the rear end of the system and is used to introduce the plastic strip 4 to be processed into the system. The guide trough 3 is attached to the bearing block 2 below the core tube 1 and extends to the rear in a self-supporting manner.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the guide trough 3 narrows towards the bearing block 2, and as can be seen from FIG. 1, it leads to a sickle-shaped passage for the plastic strip 4, which is located below the core tube 1 and extends through the bearing block 2.
In front of the bearing block 2 there are two spaced shaped bushings 6, 7 which surround the core tube 1 with a constant distance over the circumference (FIG. 1). In the case of the rear bush 6, the distance is greater than in the case of the front bush 7.
Both sleeves 6 and 7 are supported on a carrier 8 extending in the longitudinal direction of the system.
The shaped sleeves 6 and 7 are followed by a folding guide 9 for the overlapping longitudinal edges of the plastic strip 4, which is deformed into a tube. The folding guide 9 is also supported on the carrier 8.
In front of the folding guide 9 there is another shaped sleeve 10 which encloses the core tube 1 with a small amount of play (FIG. 2). The molded sleeve 10 is also supported on the carrier 8.
The next station is an ultrasonic welding device 11 that serves to form the longitudinal weld seam of the hose. The welding device 11 is only partially shown. It has a hammer 12 which is excited to vibrate in the vertical direction by ultrasound and thereby interacts with a stationary anvil 13. A heavily thickened section of the core tube 1 serves as the anvil 13. As can be seen from FIG. 5, which shows a cross section through the core tube in the area of the welding device, the hammer 12 has an essentially flat working surface which extends in the direction of the core tube 1 extending grooves 14 is provided. The anvil 13 is somewhat flattened in its area interacting with the hammer 12 and is provided with grooves 15 extending in the longitudinal direction of the core tube.
The pitch and the depth of the grooves 14 of the hammer 12 can be the same as or different from those of the grooves 15 of the anvil 13.
As can also be seen from FIG. 5, the anvil 13, with the exception of its upper part which interacts with the hammer 12, is surrounded by a shaped piece 16 with play that remains constant over the entire circumference. The annular surface formed between the anvil and the fitting corresponds approximately to the cross section of the hose to be formed. The shaped piece 16 is supported on a part of the machine frame via a column 17.
As FIG. 2 shows, a longitudinal member 18 is attached to the molded piece, which helps to carry the molded sleeve 10. A cooling device 19 for cooling the hose formed is also supported on the longitudinal member 18. The cooling device 19 has a water-cooled jacket which is in contact with the hose.
The next station is a device 20 for sheathing the now longitudinally welded hose with plastic in order to obtain a uniform, circular-cylindrical surface. The device 20 has a nozzle 21 enclosing the core tube with play.
Immediately in front of the nozzle 21 is a pressure roller 22 resting on the upper part of the core tube and at a distance therefrom is a support roller 23 resting against the lower part of the core tube. The core tube 1 ends shortly after the support roller. At a distance from the end of the core tube 1, a feed device for the tube 24 formed from the plastic strip 4 is attached. The feed device, not shown in detail, has two rollers 25, 26 which compress the hose and continuously pull it off the core tube.
In the area of the sheathing device 20, the core tube 1 is cooled by water. For this purpose, the interior of the core tube corresponding to this area is sealed watertight by inserts 27, 28. Pipes 29, 30 extending from the rear end of the core tube 1 open into the relevant interior space. The lower pipe 29 extends close to the front insert 27 and serves to supply the cooling water. The upper pipe ends shortly after the rear insert 28 and serves to discharge the cooling water.
A third pipeline 31 leading forward through the interior of the core tube 1 protrudes from the front end of the core tube and carries a widening outlet connection 32 at its front end.
Air is fed through the pipe 31 to the section of the hose 24 lying between the core tube 1 and take-off rollers 25, 26, so that there is overpressure in this section compared to atmospheric pressure and the hose pulled from the core tube does not collapse and can be pulled off better.
The production process is then described in more detail with the aid of FIG. 6, which shows the progressive deformation of the plastic strip in the system described. At the points A-F indicated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the plastic strip 4 assumes the cross-sectional shapes denoted by the corresponding small letters in FIG.
A flat plastic band (Fig. 6a) is introduced into the system at A (see Fig. 1) with its narrow side. It is preferably a relatively thin plastic tape with embedded I foils made of metal and / or non-metal. In the funnel-shaped guide trough 3, the plastic strip is preformed in the shape of a sickle and assumes the cross-sectional shape shown in FIG. 6b at point B in FIG. 1.
The plastic strip then migrates through the passage 5 and assumes the cross-sectional shape shown in FIG. 6c at point C in FIG. 1. The plastic band 4 (FIG. 1) is then drawn through the shaped sleeves 6 and 7 and bent around the core tube, the longitudinal edges r of the band overlapping at point D, as can be seen from FIG. 6d. In the folding guide 9, the two end faces of the longitudinal edges are guided displaceably in the direction of the core tube axis at the point of overlap by guide elements in a manner not shown in detail. The plastic tape, which has now been formed into a tube, is pulled through the sleeve 10 and past the welding device 11 (FIG. 2).
The hammer 12 swinging against the anvil 13 brings about an intimate connection or welding of the continuously drawn longitudinal edges in between (see FIG. 6e). As a result of the grooves made in the anvil and hammer, proper guidance of the longitudinal edges at the welding point is guaranteed. The plastic tube is then drawn past the cooling device 19 and through the nozzle 21 of the sheathing device 20, in which it is sheathed with plastic in order to obtain a uniform, circular-cylindrical outer surface (see FIG. 6f). The hose emerging from the nozzle 21 is compressed in the area of its longitudinal weld seam by a pressure roller 22, which is adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the core tube or hose, in order to obtain better material distribution in that area.
The hose 24 is then pulled off the core tube and inflated with air and then gripped by the two pull-off rollers 25, 26, which are responsible for the continuous advance of the material to be processed. The feed rate can easily be varied.
The finished plastic tube is then z. B. divided into sections in a manner not shown for the production of tubes.
