Spritzgussvorrichtung

Injection molding device
This invention relates to injection molding apparatus.
This injection molding device is particularly intended to use injection molding to cast a sole onto a shoe upper leather, which is arranged on a last, and to ensure that the injected molding material is cooled on the last before the shoe upper leather is removed from the last. While the device primarily relates to the injection of molding material onto a shoe upper leather which is arranged on a last, it can also be used successfully in the production of pressed sole heels by injection molding.
Injection molding machines are known in which the molding material is injected in order to form a sole on an upper leather which is arranged on a last. This production is slow, as it is necessary to wait for the injected molding material to cool and harden before the upper leather can be removed from the last and a new upper leather can be placed on the last. This delay due to cooling and hardening is avoided in the present device by providing a plurality of molding units which are arranged on a rotatable table top, the operator working on some molding units while the injection is carried out on other units and the cooling is carried out during the promotion between the stations is achieved.
The inventive device aims to increase production with a minimum of time expenditure by the operating personnel and allows a maximum cooling time of the shoe upper leather on the last, which reduces defects and rejects in the cast articles that occur when the cast articles are removed from the last too early before the cast shoe sole has completely hardened.
The device according to the invention is characterized by a plurality of mold units, which have a sole mold movable from a first position, which defines a first casting cavity, to a second position, which defines a second casting cavity, by means for moving the sole mold through a first injection unit, a second injection unit and means to bring continuous molding units in connection with the first injection unit and then these molding units in connection with the second injection unit, wherein the first injection unit a first molding material in the first cavity of each molding unit and the second injection unit a second molding material injects into the second cavity of each mold unit,
wherein the sole mold is brought from its first position to its second position during the working movement of the molding units from the first injection unit to the second injection unit.

The construction of the device will now be described with reference to the drawings, where like reference numerals denote like parts.
According to FIG. 1, the device has a stationary frame piece 2 on which a rotatable table with a table top part 4 and a support shaft 6 are arranged. The shaft 6 is supported on layers 8 which are carried by the frame piece 2 in order to enable the table top 4 to rotate. The lower end 10 of the shaft 6 carries a gear 12 which meshes with a gear 14 which is driven by means of a reduction gear unit and an air motor 16 which is arranged on the frame 1. Actuation of the motor gear unit 16 rotates the gear 14 to rotate the gear 12 and to cause the shaft 6 and table top 4 to rotate.
The table top 4 carries 4 identical but mutually independent mold units which, according to FIG. 2, are arranged on a circle of 3600 at an angle of 90 "each. In both FIGS. 1 and 2, for the sake of clarity, only one mold unit is shown Bears transfer mark 20, shown in detail, since the form units are identical.
In the following, a single form unit, generally bearing the remittance mark 20 in FIG. 1, is described in detail. Each unit has upwardly projecting support members 22 which are carried by the table top 4 and support a stationary plate 24.
The outwardly facing side of the plate 24 is provided with a locking plate 26 which in turn has slots to permit vertical reciprocating movement imparted to the last slide support member 28. This arrangement can be seen more clearly from FIG. 3, which is a section along the line 3-3 in FIG.
Referring to Fig. 3, the latching plate 26 is formed with slots 30 to latch with outwardly directed flanges 32 disposed on the rail slide support member 28 to enable the rail slide support member to move vertically with respect to the support 24 without lateral deviation.
A last slide 34 is rotatably supported by the last slide carrier element 28 by means of a pivot pin 36 (compare the dashed line in FIG. 3) and the manual rotation of the last carrier 34 is facilitated by the arrangement of handles 38. A friction lock (not shown) or other devices can be provided between the last slide carrier member 28 and the last slide 38 in order to hold the last slide 34 flush in an exact position above the table.
The last slide 34 carries two mutually opposite strips 40 which can be made of metal, wood or plastic. The strips may be attached to the last slide 34 at 42 by means of a slot flange arrangement similar to the arrangement of the locking plate 26 and the last slide support member 28, but whatever fastener is used, the strips should be interchangeably attached to the last support 34 to to enable strips of different sizes and / or compositions to be used.
A hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder 48 is firmly attached to the work table 4 by means of a flange 44 and a split pin 46. The cylinder 48 carries a piston rod 50, the upper end of which is fastened to one end of an angle lever 52 by means of a split pin 54. The angle lever 52 is fastened to the support 22 by means of a bracket 56, and the other end of the angle lever 52 is attached to the upper end of the last carrier slide member by means of a split pin 58. The actuation of the piston rod 50 out of the cylinder 48 causes the bracket 56 to pivot in order to lower the last slide carrier element 28 against the work table 4. The opposite movement of the piston rod 50 into the cylinder 48 causes the last slide support member to move upward away from the work table.
A split mold, which consists of side molds 60, is arranged below and slightly to the side of the lowermost rail 40 on the work table 4. This emerges from FIG. 2. Each side mold 60 is arranged on side mold slides 60, which in turn are arranged for horizontal back and forth movement in the directions of arrow 62 according to FIG. The side molds 60 are removably arranged on the side mold carriages 64, so that molds of variable sizes can be used, depending on the size of the last 40.
The horizontal reciprocation of the side mold slides 63 is controlled by hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders 66, piston rods 68, and links 70 and 72. The links 70 are pivotally mounted on the work table by means of split pins 74, and the links 72 are rotatably attached to the side mold carriage 64 by means of split pins 76. The links 70 and 72 are also pivotably attached to the cylinder 66 by means of split pins 78 and to the piston rod 80 by means of split pins 80. What is achieved thereby is that the movement of the piston rod 68 in and out of the cylinder 66 causes the side mold slides 64 to move back and forth, whereby the side molds 60 open and close accordingly.
According to FIG. 1, a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder is arranged under the work table 4 and directly under the rail 40. The cylinder 82 is carried by the work table 4 and rotates therewith. An upwardly directed piston rod 84 is carried by the cylinder 82 and is axially attached to a shaft 86 which carries a lifting plate 88 on which a sole and heel mold 90 (hereinafter called the sole mold) is disposed. The movement of the piston rod 84 in the axial direction in the cylinder causes a vertical back and forth movement of the sole shape 90 according to arrow 92, the purpose in question being described below.
According to FIG. 1, a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder 94 is arranged in a stationary manner on the inside of the carrier 24. A downwardly directed piston rod 96 carries a toe cap mold 98. Downward movement of the piston rod 96 out of the cylinder 96 causes the toe cap mold 98 to be lowered to contact the toe portion 100 of the last 40 when the last 40 is lowered, to come into contact with the sole shape 90, as will be fully explained below:
The rotation of the work table 40, which carries the 4 mold units 20, due to the gears 12 and 14 and the motor transmission 16 has been described above.
The motor 16 can be electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated, and the cylinders 48, 66, 82 and 94 can be pneumatically or hydraulically operated.
Since the work table rotates in a single direction of rotation during the casting process, namely in the counterclockwise direction according to FIG. 2, the cylinders are supplied with pneumatic or hydraulic pressure via a pressure line 102 and pressure-carrying closures 104, through which the pressure propagates and upwards via an axial bore 106 (compare dashed line in Fig. 1), which is provided within the shafts 6 and 10 and leads to the cylinders, supplied. The source of the pneumatic or hydraulic pressure is not shown, and also for the sake of clarity the pressure lines connected to the cylinders are not shown in the drawings.
The pneumatic or hydraulic pressure which is fed through the bore 106 to the cylinders 48, 66, 82 and 94 is controlled by means of control valves 108. There are 4 independent cylinders, each connected to a mold unit, and each unit is provided with 4 identical control valves 108, each for one cylinder. One of these control valves 108 is shown in FIG. 1.
Each of the four control valves 108 can be manually operated by means of the levers 110, 112, 114, 116. These four levers are shown in FIG.
The lever 110 operates the valve 108 which controls the flow of pressure to the cylinder 82 to regulate the positioning of the sole mold 90.
The lever 112 actuates its corresponding valve 108 which controls the flow of pressure to the cylinder 94 to regulate the positioning of the toe cap mold 98.
The lever 114 actuates its corresponding valve 108 which controls the flow of pressure to the cylinder 66 to regulate the positioning of the side molds 60.
The lever 116 actuates its corresponding valve 108 which controls the flow of pressure to the cylinder 48 to regulate the positioning of the rail 40.
While the levers 110-116 provide means to manually control the pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders used in the device, the actuation of the four valves 108 used in each unit can be performed automatically and in chronological order as indicated by the rotation of the work table that supports the four mold units, can be controlled. This can be done in the manner shown in FIG. 1, in that each of the levers 110 to 116 is provided with members 118 which connect the levers to slide shafts 120. These sliding shafts 120 are carried by the carrier 122 and are arranged in this so that they can be reciprocated vertically. The lower end of each shaft 120 is provided with a wheel 124.
As the work table 4 and the depending switches and shafts 120 and wheels 124 rotate, the wheels are contacted by cam tracks 126 or contact pieces 128 attached to the frame 2. The action of a cam track 126, which is in contact with a wheel 124, is based on the fact that the wheel 124 is pushed downwards, whereby the lever 110 is lowered. When a wheel 124 comes into contact with a contact piece 128, this causes an opposite movement and the lever 110 is lifted into the position indicated in FIG. 1 with dashed lines.
This ensures that the function of the cam tracks 126 and the contact pieces 128 on the wheels 124 causes the valves 108 to open and close, which results in the pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders 48, 66, 82 and 94 having an automatic and temporal sequence is achieved while the work table rotates and changes the relative position of the mold units.
The rotating table top 4 carries 4 identical but mutually independent molding units 20. For the sake of clarity, the position of the four units is denoted by operator 1, injection 1, operator 2 and injection 2 in the plan view according to FIG.
The operating personnel of the device are located at the operator 1 and operator 2 stations, and the molding material is ejected onto an upper leather of a shoe or boot, which is arranged on the last, at the injection 1 and 2 injection stations. The molding material preferably consists of Plastisol compounds, made from polyvinyl chloride mixtures, from thermoplastic rubber or from dry-mixed materials such as polyvinyl chloride resin powder.
Each injection device is shown in Figures 1 and 2 and bears the reference number 111. Each injection device includes an extruder barrel 113 provided with heating elements 117 and an injection nozzle 119, a container or reservoir 121, a motor 123 and drive chains or belts 125 to rotate an extruder feed screw (not shown). This screw is arranged longitudinally inside the sleeve 113 for conveying molding material through the sleeve into the nozzles 119 and into the mold cavity provided within the molding units 20, which will be explained in more detail below.
Two injectors 111 are used to enable molding material of the same or different color or of the same or physical or chemical property to be used. Nevertheless, the use of a single injection device can be used to cast a single molding compound without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
The injection units are those shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 with the reference number 111. Each unit is arranged on a table 127 which, in turn, is supported by support members 129 which can be connected to the frame 2. The table 127 is designed in such a way that it can be moved horizontally back and forth towards the table top part 4 and away from it in the direction of the arrow 30, the table top part 4 carrying the mold units. This to-and-fro movement is controlled by means of a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder 132 which is attached to a support 129 in a shear-proof manner. A downwardly protruding web 134 protrudes from the table 127.
It is connected to the piston rod 136 of the cylinder 132, the movement of the piston rod 136 with respect to the cylinder 132 causing a corresponding movement of the injection sleeves 113 and the nozzles 119.
Taking into account the composition of the last (metal, wood or plastic), the nature and the composition of the material from which the shoe upper leather and the molding material are made, it may possibly appear desirable, one or all of the last 40, the side molds 60, the sole shape 90 and toe cap mold 98 to heat. This can be achieved most quickly by using electrical heating coils or elements (not shown). The electricity for these heating elements is supplied to the rotating mold units using slip rings 138 arranged on a cord 140. These slip rings 138 are in contact with contact rings 142 which are provided on carrier blocks 144.
The current that is conducted to the slip rings 138 flows into the slip contacts 142, which are arranged on a carrier 144, and from there to the electrical heating elements.
For this injection molding process, it is considered advantageous to cool the sole mold 90. This can be done by providing a cooling plate 115 which has openings or perforations 115 'through which a coolant flows below the sole shape 90.
The operation of this device is described below.
An operator of this device takes his place at the operator 1 station. He brings a shoe upper leather, to which a sole of molding material is to be applied, to the uppermost last 40.
Then he rotates the last slide 34 by means of the lever 38 by 1800, so that the last 40 on which the upper leather is attached now assumes its lowest position above the shape of the sole. When the device is completely set to manual operation, the operator operates the following levers in sequence:
1. Lever 116 to actuate the cylinder 48 in order to lower the rail slide support member 28 and the hanging rail 40 into a predetermined position between the side molds 60.
2. Lever 114 to actuate the cylinder 66 in order to close the side molds 60 firmly against the shoe upper leather which is placed on the last 40.
3. Lever 112 to actuate cylinder 94 to lower toe cap mold 98 onto toes 100 of last 40. This step is only necessary if a toe cap is used.
4. Lever 110 to operate the cylinder 82 to raise the sole mold 90 a certain distance from the underside of the last 40, leaving a gap in which the molding material at the injection station 1 between the last, the sole mold and the side molds is injected.
5. The operator now operates a further switch, which can be operated with his foot if necessary, in order to switch on the motor 16. This causes the upper table part 4 to rotate counterclockwise by 90 "until the molding unit on which the operator was working takes the position at the injection 1 station.
The sequence of steps set out above is used when the upper leather which is arranged on the last 40 consists of textile material. But if the upper leather is made of leather, the following steps are carried out: 1. The operator operates the! Lever 114 to actuate cylinders 66 to close side molds 60.
2. The lever 116 is then actuated in order to lower the strip 40 so that it comes into contact with the closed side molds 60.
3. The lever 110 is actuated in order to raise the sole mold 90 to a certain distance from the last 40 in order to cut out a gap between the sole mold 90, the last 40 and the side molds 60.
4. The operator actuates another switch, which can optionally be actuated with the foot, in order to put the motor 16 into operation. This causes the table top 4 to rotate counterclockwise by 90 "until the molding unit on which the operator was working takes the position at the injection 1 station.
If a leather upper leather is used, the sequence of the closing movement of the last and the shapes are somewhat different, and with a leather upper leather the toe cap shape is not necessary and therefore need not be used.
When the molding unit carrying an upper leather placed on the last is in position at the injection 1 station, the operator can operate a switch to operate the cylinder 130 to feed the injection unit 111, or a cylinder can be automatic operated in the above-mentioned manner by means of valves 108 when the mold unit is in its position at the injection 1 station.
While the injection unit 111 is advancing at the injection 1 station, guides 150 (see FIG. 1) engage in guide slots 152 in order to direct the injection nozzles 119 into openings 154 which are provided in the side mold slide 64 and in the side molds 60 around the nozzle 119 with the cavity formed between the last 40, the sole mold 90 and the side molds 60 to connect. The motor 123 that drives the feed screw (not shown) in the sleeve 113 is put into operation.
As a result, the molding material, which is in a molten or liquid phase, is conveyed through the sleeve 113, through the nozzle, through the opening 154 and into the casting cavity. This injection is either for a certain time or until a pressure of the molding material has built up in the cavity that is sufficiently great to lower the sole mold 90 just a little but enough to operate a limit switch to turn off the motor 123 and thereby the Interrupt injection of the molding material, executed.
4 shows an enlarged side view of the last 40, the side molds and the sole form in their corresponding first position in front of the injection 1 station. This drawing shows that the sole form 90 is provided with an injection channel 160 and with connected openings 162. These open into the cavity 164 which is formed between the last 40, the side molds 60 and the sole mold 90. Upon actuation of the injection device 111 at the injection 1 station, the molding material is pressed through the opening 154, through the channel 160 and through the openings 162 and into the cavity 164.
The injection lasts either for a certain time or until the pressure in the cavity 164 has increased to a certain amount, or until the flow of the molding material through the opening 166 actuates a switch 168 to turn off the motor 123 and interrupt the injection.
The cooling plate 115, which has cooling openings 115 'to effect cooling of the sole form 90, is clearly shown.
After injection is completed at the Injection 1 station, the cylinder 132 is again actuated to move the table 127 to withdraw the injector 119 from the mold unit.
After the injection nozzle 119 has been withdrawn, the rotatable table top 4 rotates counterclockwise by 900, the rotation being carried out automatically by manual operation. The freshly cast shoe or boot now assumes the operator 2 position according to FIG.
During the working movement between the Injection 1 and Injection 2 stations, the cooling effect of the plate 115 with respect to the sole mold 90 causes the thermoplastic molding material that is in the recess 154, in the channel 160 and in the openings 162 to harden or solidify and become a Turnip forms. One of the duties of the operator at the Operator 2 station is to remove the beet from the injection passage (openings 162, channel 160 and recess 154) and, when that is done, the table top is switched to turn 90 "rotates in order to bring the molding unit into position in front of the Injection 2 station. Further tasks of the operator at the Operator 2 station will be described in full in the following.
After the operator at the Operator 2 station has removed the beet that was left over from the molding material that was injected at the Injection 1 station, and during the work movement from the Operator 2 station to the Injection 2 station, the cylinder 82, which controls the vertical movement of the sole form 90, operated, either automatically or manually, in order to lower the sole form 90 from its first position according to FIG. 4 into its second position according to FIG.
The molding material that was injected at the injection 1 station has hardened during this time and forms a sole 170. Accordingly, the lowering of the sole mold 90 causes a cavity 172 to be cut out in order to receive the second molding material from the injection device 111.
Upon arrival at the Injection 2 station, injector 111 advances to inject molding material into cavity 172 through opening 154, channel 160, and openings 162. Injection is completed by one of the means crossed out above with reference to the Injection 1 station.
After the injection is complete, the injection nozzle 119 is withdrawn and the table top is switched so that the molding unit returns to the operator 1 station.
The operator at the Operator 1 station then removes the beet that was formed in the injection opening (openings 162, channel 160 and recess 154). He lifts the toe cap mold 98, which is only used when the shoe upper leather is made of a textile material, and the side molds 60 are opened and the last 40 is lifted. The operator at station Operator 1 then turns the last slide 34 by means of the handles 38 in order to turn the last 40, which carries the shoe that has just been put on, from the lowest position to the uppermost position. The shoe freshly placed on the last then remains on the upper last until the unit turns to the Operator 2 station, where the finished product is removed.
The sequence of operations carried out by the two operators and by the manual or automatic control of the device will now be described:
Sation operator 1
1. The operator completes the insertion of a shoe upper leather onto which a sole is to be cast in the injection molding process on the uppermost last 40. The upper leather of the shoe was inserted there beforehand by the operator at station 2.
2. The operator then removes the beet from the injection port (recess 154, channel 160 and ports 162). This exposes the passage for the subsequent injection process at the Injection 1 station.
3. The side molds are then opened and the rail slide is lifted and rotated. The machine is advanced through an angle of 900 to the injection 1 station, be it to delimit a cavity 172 (see FIG. 5), in order to receive molding material from the injection 2 station.
Injection station 2
1. As soon as the turntable rotates through 90 in order to be set at the injection 2 station, the injection of molding material into the cavity 172 begins.
When the injection has taken place, the rotation moves; table up to position Operator 1. During this time, the beet hardens due to the cooling effect of the cooling plate 115 in the injection channel.
When the forming unit returns to the Operator 1 station, the cycle is completed and the work steps are repeated in the sequence.
As explained above, actuation of switches 108 by their respective levers 110, 112, 114 and 116 to actuate cylinders 82, 94, 66 and 48 may be manually operated or automatically operated such as by cam tracks 126, respectively and cam stops 128 occur. Switching on the engine. 16, which causes the rotation of the table top 14, can be done manually by means of a push-button switch (not shown) or by automatic timing means, as is the case for the cylinders 130, which advance and retract the injection units 111 and for the motors 123, which perform the injection of the molding material.
All of these functions can be manual, or they can be automatic, or some can be manual and some can be automatic, depending on the speed and workload of the operators.
This device is primarily concerned with the injection molding of a sole on an upper leather, which consists of textile material or leather.
The sole consists of two layers colored for decorative purposes or of two layers of molded material that have different physical properties, such as elasticity and wear resistance. A similar type of this apparatus, which uses six stations, namely 3 operator stations and 3 injection stations, to produce three-layer soles, is also still within the scope of this invention.
In the production of footwear with two differently colored sole units, the material that is injected at the injection 1 station is of a different color than the material that is injected at the injection 2 station. If a layered sole with a more elastic upper layer and a more permanent and wear-resistant lower layer is desired, the elastic material is injected at the injection 1 station and the more durable material is injected at the injection 2 station.
It is also possible to produce footwear with a homogeneous sole on this device, in which case both injection devices inject the same material.
Fig. 6 is a view similar to that of Fig. 4 but showing the state immediately after the injection of the Injection 1 station before the injection nozzle is withdrawn from contact with the molding unit. In this position, the gap 164, the openings 162, the channel 160, the recess 154 and the opening in the nozzle 119 are completely filled with thermoplastic molding material. In view of the cooling of the sole mold 90 which is effected by the cooling plate 115 and immediately after the injection has been completed, the molding material in the openings 162 and in the channel 160 immediately begins to harden.
Also in view of the metallic contact between the mold 90, the side mold 60 and the head of the nozzle 119, these two latter elements also feel a cooling and the substance that is pressed into them begins to harden immediately. The molding material advancing along the extruder sleeve 113 is nevertheless very hot and while the cooling of the head of the nozzle 119 is minimal, it is still sufficient to cause a projection 176 of molding material in the head of the nozzle 119 to harden so that when nozzle 119 is withdrawn, the lug remains and protrudes out of opening 154. In this way, at operator 1 and 2 stations, the beets that are located within the injection channel can be removed by pulling sharply on attachment 176.
Figure 7 illustrates another way to form the neck 176 of the beet. In this drawing, in addition to the formation of deposits due to the conductive cooling of the head of the nozzle 119, the nozzle 119 is provided with a shut-off element 178, which closes the opening in the nozzle 119 immediately after the injection in order to brake the molding material inside the nozzle and to close it help the lug 176 to harden by separating the area of the lug from the remaining hot, liquid material in the extruder barrel. This shut-off member 178 is also useful to prevent the liquid material from dripping from the nozzle head between injection cycles.
With reference to FIG. 7, it can be seen that the sole shape 90 'used there differs somewhat from the sole shape 90 used in the preceding drawings in that the sole shape 90' directly contacts the nozzle 119 and not through the intermediate piece 154, which is in Side molds 60 is formed with which nozzle 119 communicates.
8 shows an embodiment of a mechanical means which participates in the removal of the beet which is formed in the injection channel of the sole mold 90 ′.
This means has a collar piece 180 which contains a recess 182 which has shoulders 184 through which recess the molding material flows. The collar piece 180 is carried by the shaft 186 which is pivotally connected to the table at 188 and is provided with a handle 190.
After the injection of the molding material and after the beet has hardened in the openings 162, in the channel 160 and in the recess 182 and after the hardening of the beet attachment 178 and after the injection nozzle 119 has moved backwards, the rotation of the handle 190 (and the action of the shoulders 184 on the beet) in the direction of arrow 192 removes the beet from the adhesive tension within the injection channel, which facilitates the further withdrawal of the beet.
The means which is used to remove the beet from the injection channel in the sole mold 90 'according to FIG. 8 is arranged for manual operation.
However, the means for removing the beet can also be actuated by means of pneumatic or hydraulic means (not shown). In this case, these means can be actuated automatically to adjust a molding unit at the operator 1 or operator 2 stations. Such pneumatic or hydraulic means can be actuated by means of organs which are similar to the switches 108 according to FIG.
