Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>
    Verfahren zum Auswechseln von Anlageteilen in Heiz- oder Kühlanlagen Es kommt öfters vor, dass bei fertig erstellten Heiz- oder Kühlanlagen gewisse Teile, beispielsweise Radiatoren ausgewechselt werden müssen. Befindet sich aber der auszuwechselnde Radiator unten in einem grösseren Büro- oder Geschäftshaus, so muss zuerst die Anlage fast ganz entleert werden, bevor mit dem eigentlichen Auswechseln begonnen werden kann.

    Method for replacing system parts in heating or cooling systems It often happens that certain parts, for example radiators, have to be replaced in completely built heating or cooling systems. However, if the radiator to be replaced is downstairs in a larger office or commercial building, the system must first be almost completely emptied before the actual replacement can begin.

   This costs a lot of time because the fitter who is to replace the part in question has to be there all the time, during the emptying and then during the filling and venting. The invention creates a new and time-saving method for replacing system parts in heating or cooling systems that work with water as the heat-transferring medium.

  The new process is characterized by the fact that the water in the supply and return lines is first freezed by removing heat at the points near the parts to be replaced, so that an ice plug forms there, which closes the lines at these points, the heat removal maintains during the replacement of the system part and only allows the ice plugs to thaw again after replacement.

  In the method according to the invention, the entire system can remain filled with water and only a small amount flows out of the system part to be replaced itself. The method is practicable because it has been shown that such an ice plug can close the pipe, but not burst it. Of course, the new method is not only suitable for changing a radiator, but also for changing, replacing or adding to other system parts such as pipes, taps, expansion vessels or larger complex parts.

   Depending on whether the replacement work can be done quickly or take longer, the removal of heat from the areas where ice plugs are to be formed can be carried out in different ways. You can work with a chemically acting cold mixture or use a small and portable cooling system.
