Device for aligning cylindrical bodies
When machining cylindrical workpieces in a machine, e.g. B. a machine for surface grinding of the end faces of the rollers of roller bearings, the task is set to feed the rollers continuously one after the other at a relatively high transport speed and in a predetermined axial position of the work station of the machine. Inserting the rolls in the correct position by hand is not only cumbersome, but cannot be carried out at the required speed at the current working speeds of the processing machines. The alignment devices known so far are mostly complicated and prone to failure or they work at too low speeds.
In contrast, the present invention aims to create a device for aligning cylindrical bodies with flat end faces perpendicular to their axis, which does not require complicated aligning mechanics and which makes it possible to maintain a working speed that meets the requirements of today's processing machines.
For this purpose, the device according to the invention is characterized in that it has a horizontal straightening plate with a plurality of vertically axial holes, the hole diameter of which is only slightly larger than the diameter of the body to be aligned, with one or more of the plate holes under the straightening plate individually assigned positive guide surfaces are provided along which the bodies passed vertically through the holes of the straightening plate can be fed to a dispensing device.
As can easily be seen, the actual straightening work takes place through the holes in the straightening plate, which on the one hand, due to its arrangement and size, allows only vertical-axis, i.e. rectified bodies to pass through, and on the other hand, due to the plurality of holes, allows a sufficiently high working speed (directed bodies per unit of time) to be maintained .
In the accompanying drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown schematically, namely:
Fig. 1 is a diagram of a device with which cylindrical rollers can be aligned horizontally and parallel axes,
Fig. 2 in vertical cross section the straightening section of the device according to Fig. 1 and
Fig. 3 is a diagram of a device with which cylindrical rollers can be aligned coaxially.
In the example according to FIGS. 1 and 2, a filling box 1 is provided, the bottom of which is formed by a horizontal, flat straightening plate la with a plurality of holes 2 on the vertical axis. The thickness of the bottom 1 a is chosen so that a roller 3 to be straightened and passing through the holes 2 cannot tilt, while the diameter of the holes 2, which are circular in cross section, is only slightly larger than that of the rollers 3. Instead of being exactly cylindrical, the holes 2 are expediently slightly flared towards the top; however, the hole axis should be exactly vertical. Below the straightening plate la, a horizontal guide plate 4 is provided at a certain vertical distance. The light; The height between the straightening plate 1 a and the guide plate 4 is expediently only slightly more than the axial length of the rollers 3 to be aligned.
A slide 5 sliding on the plate 4 fits into the laterally delimited space between the straightening plate 1 a and the guide plate 4. This slide 5 can be inserted into the latter from the one open side of the space mentioned. At the other free end of the guide plate 4 protruding somewhat beyond the straightening plate la, a guide channel 6 that is bent downwards in a partially cylindrical manner is connected flush. The height of this channel is only slightly greater than the axial length of the rollers 3 to be aligned. The lower boundary 6a of this channel 6, which serves as a collecting surface, is slightly inclined; At the lowest point of this collecting surface 6a, the channel 6 is open at the side, with an inclined conveyor trough 7 being connected to this opening 6b, which leads to the feed device (not shown) of a roll processing machine.
The rollers 3 randomly fed to the filling box 1 are captured by the holes 2 in the straightening plate la and directed vertically and fall onto the guide plate 4 underneath. If the slide 5 is now pushed into the space between the two plates la, 4, the slide open the rollers 3 which have fallen with their one flat end face onto the plate 4 towards the channel 6; since the slide 5 has a thickness adapted to the height of the space mentioned and a vertical, flat face, and on the other hand, the space height mentioned is only slightly greater than the axial length of the rollers 3, the rollers 3 tipping over from their once assumed vertical position on the Guide surface impossible.
The rollers 3 pushed forward in this way inevitably enter the channel 6, which has a downward curvature of a quarter circle in cross section, where they slide downward under the effect of their own weight; Here, too, tilting of the rollers is impossible due to the duct height being adapted to the length of the roller. As a result, the rollers 3 are rotated on their way through the channel 6 with their axis from the original vertical position in the horizontal position, this rotation takes place in a vertical plane, so that the rollers 3 arrive on the collecting surface 6a of the channel 6 horizontally and parallel axes and from there successively pass through the channel 7 to the feed device of the machine.
In order to accelerate the threading of the rollers 3 fed to the box 1 into the holes 2 of the straightening plate, this plate or the box 1 can be subjected to a slight shaking movement.
The device shown in Fig. 3 is used to align their randomly supplied, cylindrical rollers coaxially in order to be able to deliver them to the feed device of a processing machine, not shown. The device shown has a downwardly open filler neck 10, the clear width of which is greater than the largest dimension of the rollers to be aligned, so that the latter can pass through the neck 10 unhindered. The nozzle opens at a vertical distance above an annular guide 11, the annular bottom of which is designed as a horizontal, flat straightening plate 11 a and for this purpose has a plurality of vertically-axial holes 12 with circular cross-section arranged at a small distance along a circle.
The holes 12 expediently slightly conically widened towards the top have a lower, smallest diameter which is only slightly larger than the diameter of the rollers (not shown) to be straightened. With the annular straightening plate 11a vertically downwardly projecting guide tubes 14 are connected; the inner wall of each tube 14 is in alignment with the wall of one of the holes 12; the tubes 14 thus form axial ver lengthening of the holes 12. The parts 11, 11a, 14 forming a whole are rotatably mounted about their vertical axis in a manner not shown. The lower, open ends of the tubes 14 lie directly below a stationary, flat collecting plate 16. This collecting plate 16 has a passage opening 16a which opens down into a conveying trough 17.
The opening 16a is located with respect to the axis of the rotatable unit 11, 11a, 14 at the same radial distance as the tubes 14, so that when the unit rotates, the tubes 14 successively come into alignment with the opening 16a. The rollers reaching the straightening plate 11a through the connecting piece 10 in a manner not shown in greater detail are captured by the holes 12 and slide downwards along the vertical axis through the respective guide tube to the collecting plate 16.
In order to prevent that when the pipes 14 are filled with aligned rollers, those rollers which fall into the pipe 14 which is in alignment with the opening 16, in an undesirable manner, immediately go down into the channel 17 or when entering the opening 16a rotating unit 11, 11a, 14 can jam, means 18 are provided which allow a temporary blocking of the tube 14 in question. It can be a mechanical or magnetic locking device.
The devices described are simple in construction, have only a few moving parts and allow a relatively high alignment speed to be maintained.
