Boîte formée de deux portions articulées Dans les boîtes formées de deux portions articulées, par exemple d'un corps et d'un couvercle, les deux por tions sont généralement reliées l'une à l'autre par deux éléments de charnière qui sont fixés chacun à l'une des portions de la boîte et qui sont assujettis l'un à l'autre par une tige formant pivot.
Dans les boîtes de ce genre jusqu'à présent réalisées, chacun des éléments de charnière est fixé à la portion correspondante sensiblement dans le plan de jonction des deux portions. Il en résulte que l'axe de la charnière est visible aussi bien extérieurement qu'intérieurement lors qu'on ouvre la boîte. Cette charnière est inesthétique, ce qui est un inconvénient, en particulier lorsque la boîte constitue un objet de luxe, par exemple un poudrier.
La présente invention a pour but de rendre l'axe de la charnière pratiquement invisible, aussi bien extérieure ment qu'intérieurement, la boîte étant ouverte ou fermée, et a pour objet une boîte formée de deux portions arti culées qui est caractérisée en ce que l'axe de ces char nières se trouve à l'intérieur de la boîte et en ce qu'une partie de l'élément de charnière située entre l'une des portions de la boîte et l'axe de la charnière est pliée en forme de gouttière de façon à passer au-dessus du bord de jonction de l'autre portion, en position ouverte de la boîte.
Dans une telle boîte, la charnière est invisible exté rieurement car elle est cachée par les bords de jonction des deux portions de la boîte. Elle peut être également invisible intérieurement si la partie en creux de l'élément de charnière s'étend suffisamment bas à l'intérieur de la première portion de la boîte, lorsque celle-ci est fer mée, pour cacher l'axe de la charnière lorsque la boîte est ouverte.
La partie en creux de l'élément de charnière est, de préférence, constituée au moins en partie par une portion de cylindre coaxiale à l'axe de la charnière. Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, un mode de réalisation de la boîte, objet de la présente invention.
La fig. 1 est une vue en coupe d'une portion de cette forme de réalisation, la boîte étant un poudrier.
La fig. 2 est une vue en perspective des éléments de la charnière.
La fig. 3 est une vue semblable à la fig. 1, le poudrier étant ouvert.
A la fig. 1, on voit en 1 le boîtier ou corps d'un pou drier qui peut être fermé par un couvercle 2 ; celui-ci est réuni au boîtier par une charnière dont l'axe 3 se trouve à l'intérieur du boîtier 1. La charnière est formée d'un élément inférieur et d'un élément supérieur qui sont dési gnés au dessin d'une façon générale par les références 4 et 5. Le corps 1 contient un bac à poudre 6 qui peut être fermé par un couvercle 7. Par ailleurs, le couvercle 2 est recouvert par un miroir 8 qui est maintenu en place par un cadre embouti 9.
Comme on le voit plus particulièrement à la fig. 2, l'élément de charnière inférieur 4 comporte un cadre 10 qui est fixé dans le boîtier 1 et est prolongé par une paroi plane 11 à angle droit par rapport au cadre 10. Des paliers 12 pour l'axe 3 sont formés de manière connue à l'extrémité de cette paroi.
De son côté, l'élément de charnière supérieur 5 com porte un cadre 13 qui est fixé dans le couvercle 2 et est solidaire de paliers 14 disposés en quinconce par rapport aux paliers 12. Mais ces paliers 14, au lieu d'être formés à l'extrémité d'une paroi plane analogue à la paroi 11, sont ménagés à l'extrémité d'une paroi qui se raccorde au cadre 13 suivant une ligne 15 en retrait par rapport à l'axe 3 et présente successivement, à partir de cette ligne 15, une portion descendante 16 sensiblement plane, une portion cylindrique 17 centrée sur l'axe 3, et une portion remontante 18 à l'extrémité de laquelle se trouvent les paliers 14.
La paroi arrière la du boîtier 1, qui est adjacente à la charnière, remonte plus haut que le plan de jonction du boïtier et du couvercle, et le bord supérieur de cette paroi est arrondi, comme indiqué en lb, coaxialement à l'axe 3. Les parois latérales 1c du boîtier présentent éga lement, à leur extrémité adjacente à la paroi arrière, un bord supérieur arrondi 1d qui prolonge le bord lb.
Le couvercle 2 est conformé comme le boîtier, c'est- à-dire que le bord inférieur de sa paroi arrière 2a est arrondi, comme indiqué en 2b, et que le bord inférieur de ses parois latérales 2c présente un arrondi 2d qui prolonge l'arrondi 2b.
Lorsqu'on ouvre le couvercle 2, les paliers 12 et 14 de l'axe 3 ne sont pas visibles intérieurement, car ils sont cachés par la paroi courbe 17, ainsi qu'on le voit à la fig. 3. Ils ne sont pas non plus visibles extérieure ment car ils sont cachés par le bord arrière la du boî tier 1; le retrait de la portion 16 de l'élément de char nière supérieur 5 permet à cet élément de passer par dessus le bord la.

In such a box, the hinge is invisible on the outside because it is hidden by the junction edges of the two portions of the box. It can also be invisible internally if the recessed part of the hinge element extends sufficiently low inside the first portion of the box, when the latter is closed, to hide the axis of the hinge. when the box is opened.
The hollow portion of the hinge element is preferably formed at least in part by a portion of a cylinder coaxial with the axis of the hinge. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the box, object of the present invention.

In fig. 1, we see at 1 the housing or body of a pou drier which can be closed by a cover 2; this is joined to the housing by a hinge, the axis of which is located inside the housing 1. The hinge is formed of a lower element and an upper element which are designated in the drawing in a manner generally by the references 4 and 5. The body 1 contains a powder container 6 which can be closed by a cover 7. Furthermore, the cover 2 is covered by a mirror 8 which is held in place by a stamped frame 9.
As can be seen more particularly in FIG. 2, the lower hinge element 4 comprises a frame 10 which is fixed in the housing 1 and is extended by a flat wall 11 at right angles to the frame 10. Bearings 12 for the axis 3 are formed in known manner. at the end of this wall.
For its part, the upper hinge element 5 com carries a frame 13 which is fixed in the cover 2 and is integral with bearings 14 arranged staggered with respect to the bearings 12. But these bearings 14, instead of being formed at the end of a flat wall similar to the wall 11, are formed at the end of a wall which connects to the frame 13 along a line 15 set back from the axis 3 and presents successively, starting from this line 15, a descending portion 16 substantially flat, a cylindrical portion 17 centered on the axis 3, and a rising portion 18 at the end of which the bearings 14 are located.
The rear wall 1a of the housing 1, which is adjacent to the hinge, rises higher than the junction plane of the housing and the cover, and the upper edge of this wall is rounded, as indicated in lb, coaxially with the axis 3 The side walls 1c of the housing also have, at their end adjacent to the rear wall, a rounded upper edge 1d which extends the edge 1b.
The cover 2 is shaped like the housing, that is to say that the lower edge of its rear wall 2a is rounded, as indicated at 2b, and that the lower edge of its side walls 2c has a rounded 2d which extends l 'rounding 2b.
When the cover 2 is opened, the bearings 12 and 14 of the axis 3 are not visible from the inside, because they are hidden by the curved wall 17, as can be seen in FIG. 3.
