Filling and dosing device for poorly flowing, bridging bulk materials
The invention relates to a filling and metering device for poorly flowing bulk goods, for example dyes, with a movable body provided with flow openings and arranged in the lower outflow opening of a container. The flow openings are appropriately shaped and dimensioned in such a way that when the body is stationary, they normally clog due to the formation of bridges in the bulk material and are opened when the body moves and release the flow.
In a device of this type that has become known, the body regulating the flow is formed by a sieve that can be vibrated. In this way, however, it is not possible to achieve a sufficiently precise dosage with sufficient possibilities for variation.
Furthermore, devices have become known in which the body regulating the flow is formed by a cellular wheel whose axis of rotation is transverse to the direction of flow. Here, too, the range of possible variations in the dosage is too small. In addition, cellular wheels are poorly suited for bridging material, as this tends to form a bridge over the flow cross-section above the effective zone of the cellular wheel and / or to get stuck in the cells, whereby the flow is completely blocked.
The known metering screws have disadvantages similar to those of the cellular wheels and, in addition, tend to become blocked due to their relatively long helical flow path.
The invention avoids the stated disadvantages in that the body regulating the flow is formed by a rotor with an axis of rotation in the direction of flow, the top of the rotor having, with respect to the direction of rotation, oblique, front-to-back sloping shovel-like zones and the lower cross section of each passage opening from an overlying one Part of the rotor is at least partially covered.
According to two preferred embodiments of the invention, the rotor can be formed by a propeller with overlapping blades or by a piece of a multi-flight screw which is shorter than its pitch.
According to a further variant of the invention, the item resting on the rotor is prevented from rotating at the same time in that the inflow channel is divided by radial partition walls directly above the rotor.
In the following the invention is explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing; show it:
1 shows a container equipped with the device according to the invention in a side view, partly in an axial section,
2 shows a rotor designed as a propeller in a diagrammatic representation,
3 shows an axial section through the container just above the rotor in a diagrammatic representation,
4 shows a variant of the rotor drive in a schematic representation.
According to FIG. 1, the container, designated as a whole by 1, merges at its lower end in a funnel shape into the outflow opening equipped with the filling and metering device. According to the illustration, the rotor of this filling and metering device consists of a propeller 3, the wings of which overlap one another.
Directly above the propeller, a guide device with radially extending walls 4 is arranged, which prevents the material resting on the propeller 3 from rotating. The outlet 5, which is flanged below the propeller, can be provided with a locking flap (not shown) which, in its closed position, may hold back material trickling down. The propeller sits at the lower end of a drive shaft 6, which is guided centrally from above through the container and the guide device and is coupled to a motor 7.
In the detailed illustration of FIG. 2, the overlapping blades of the rotor 3 are denoted by 3a, 3b, .... The blades sit on the inside on a hub 8 fixed on the drive shaft 6 and are connected to one another on the outside by means of a ring 9.
In the detailed illustration of FIG. 3, the walls of the guide device, again denoted by 4 and arranged in a star shape, can be clearly seen. These walls are all fixed to a central tube 10 through which the drive shaft 6 of the propeller 3 is guided in the embodiment of FIG.
The propeller 3 can also be driven from below or, as shown in FIG. 4, from the side via an angle drive 11.
In practice, with flow cross-sections of around 300 to 600 mm, the propeller blades are provided with an overlap of around 20 to 50 mm and a mutual spacing of around 10 to 30 mm.
The inclination of the blades to the horizontal is between 0 and 150, with the larger values valid for narrow flow cross-sections and / or overlaps.
Of course, the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiment shown. Thus, instead of the propeller or short multi-thread screw piece, a perforated plate or plate provided with radially extending slots can be used, these holes or slots being covered with shovel-like, in particular dome-like metal sheets which, when the plate rotates, the material resting on it through its openings to press.
The filling and metering device according to the invention can be made very precisely adjustable in a wide range (10 to 100 rpm) by regulating the speed of the rotor. For this purpose, either the drive motor 7 itself can be speed-controllable or a gear with a preferably continuously adjustable translation can be interposed between the motor and the rotor.
