Electroacoustic transducer The invention relates to an electroacoustic transducer with a housing and with at least one opening to compensate for the pressure in the space adjoining the rear of the membrane and the pressure outside the transducer housing on which the sound is superimposed .
In converters of this type, the opening is used for the so-called barometric pressure compensation, it prevents mechanical bias or deflection of the membrane, which would arise in an airtight space behind the membrane when the air pressure outside the converter, z. B. with changing barometer sand, differs from the air pressure in the sem room.
This opening was usually at a location of the housing selected for structural reasons only, usually on the rear, and provided with porous material in such a way that the time constant from the flow resistance of the opening and the volume of the space at the rear of the The membrane is large compared to the period of the lowest frequency to be processed by the converter, so that the pressure equalization does not reduce the sensitivity of the converter.
As long as the converter is operated under atmospheric pressure, pressure equalization is not a problem. However, it has been shown that the usual pressure equalization leads to distortions, in particular non-linear distortions of the transducer, if the larger pressure changes occur faster than the weather-related changes in the barometer reading. For example, studies on which the invention is based have shown that a microphone which is exposed to changes in air pressure in the bellows of an accordion leads to distortions, the cause of which is related to the pressure equalization.
The invention is based on the object of avoiding these distortions, i. H. To create a transducer with pressure equalization that converts the sound superimposed on the pressure into electrical currents or voltages without distortion even with faster and / or greater than atmospheric pressure fluctuations or, conversely, converts electrical currents or voltages into sound without distortion.
The invention is based on the knowledge that, for. B. in a dynamic transducer the voice coil protrudes into the stray field of the annular gap of the magnet system if there is insufficient pressure compensation, and that with rapid and / or strong pressure fluctuations the membrane wobbles or tilts because the pressure equalization processes on the back of the membrane are not symmetrical to its center run away.
According to the invention, the pressure compensation opening or several pressure compensation openings are arranged and dimensioned so that the pressures to be compensated exert practically no tilting or tumbling movements of the membrane on the membrane during the compensation process.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. 1 shows an axial section through an electro-acoustic transducer, FIG. 2 shows an end view of a variant of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows an axial section of a further variant of FIG. 3, FIG. 4 shows an end view of another variant Fig. 1.
The housing 1 and the membrane 2 of the electroacoustic transducer according to FIG. 1 are rotationally symmetrical with respect to an axis of symmetry 3. The electromechanical converter of this electroacoustic transducer is at least approximately rotationally symmetrical with respect to this axis 3. The membrane 2 also eats in elastic terms rotationally symmetrical with respect to axis 3, d. H. it is such that a pressure evenly distributed over its surface does not cause a tilting movement.
The housing 1 has an opening 4 to compensate between tween the pressure that prevails inside the housing 1, so also on the back of the membrane 2, and the pressure outside the housing 1, on which the sound is superimposed. This opening 4 is arranged coaxially to the axis 3.
In a converter otherwise corresponding to FIG. 1, instead of the opening 4, several openings 5 of the same size arranged symmetrically to the axis of symmetry 3 according to FIG. 2 in the base 11 of the converter or openings 6 of the same size symmetrical to the axis 3 can also be used be arranged according to Fig. 3 in the jacket 12 of the Ge housing of the converter.
In the other embodiment according to FIG. 4, several openings 7 of the same size are arranged in the diaphragm 2 'of the transducer in a rotationally symmetrical manner with respect to the axis 3.
These openings 4, 5, 6 and 7 can be provided with porous material.
The openings arranged as described ensure that the forces acting on the diaphragm during pressure equalization as a result of the instantaneous pressure difference exert practically no forces on the diaphragm which cause tumbling or tilting movements.
Pressure equalization openings in the membrane or its immediate vicinity cause the pressure on the back of the membrane to adapt to the pressure on the front of the membrane. This is important if the change in pressure is related to the fact that a wind front runs through the room in which the converter is located. A pressure gradient occurs along the transducer when it is in the area of the wind front. A quick equalization of the pressures in front of and behind the membrane is only possible if the equalization openings are in the membrane or its immediate surroundings.
The arrangement of pressure compensation openings in the membrane or its immediate vicinity is of particular importance when the membrane is at the end of a funnel, a pipe or an acoustic filter.
The pressure conditions on the membrane, which can be attributed to the wind or a wind front, are completely different from those on the converter housing. These pressure conditions can even be opposite. In this case, the necessary pressure equalization is only possible through openings provided in the membrane or in its immediate vicinity, which lead into the funnel, the pipe or acoustic filter.
If the membrane is not zen trically symmetrical in elastic terms, so that a pressure evenly distributed over its surface causes a tilting movement of the mem brane, z. B. because the membrane at one edge point is less flexible than at the opposite, the arrangement and the dimensioning of the pressure equalization openings and the through this to ver different surface parts of the membrane back füh-generating airways to choose so that during the pressure equalization process Tilting movement is counteracted. For example, a more flexible edge point is assigned a larger pressure compensation opening than a less flexible edge point.
This ensures that the pressure difference at the more flexible point of the membrane, at which it would in itself cause a greater membrane movement, is equalized more quickly than at the less flexible point, where it itself causes a smaller membrane movement. The faster compensation reduces the greater movement of the more flexible membrane point, so that this approximates the movement of the less flexible one. If both movements are the same, a tilting movement is completely suppressed.
The movements of such a membrane, which is unsymmetrical in terms of elasticity, naturally have a tilting component when recording or reproducing sound, regardless of the pressures to be compensated. However, this is much smaller than those that are related to pressures, the compensation of which the invention is concerned. The elastic imbalance can be caused by e.g. B. a locally different elasticity of the Meinbranmaterials, for example when imprinting the membrane thickness differences or the voice coil connections.
Such an asymmetry can also be caused by an asymmetrical air cushion behind the membrane.
