Printing plate clamping device for rotary printing machines The invention relates to a printing plate clamping device for rotary printing machines.
To clamp flexible printing plates on the forme cylinder of a printing machine, clamping flaps are usually used in an axially parallel pit of the cylinder, which are arranged pivotably on a spindle lying parallel to the cylinder axis and on which the printing plate ends are screwed, clamped or hung on pins. The tensioning takes place either directly via screw drives, eccentric etc. or by means of springs.
Among the directly acting clamping devices, designs are known in which the pivotable clamping flaps have an angular cross-section or are attached to angle levers. One lever arm of the latter carries means for holding the plate end, while an adjusting screw acts on the other lever arm, with the help of which the clamping flap is pivoted in one direction or the other and thus the plate is stretched or loosened on the cylinder jacket.
In another known device, the printing plate ends are reinforced by bars, one of which rests against a fixed contact surface on the cylinder, while the other is gripped behind by a clamping jaw. The latter is attached to the free end of pivotally mounted levers. A spring rod, which is enclosed by a double spring, is hinged to this in the vicinity of the clamping jaw.
The double spring in turn is supported on the one hand on a spring plate adjustably fastened to the spring rod and on the other hand on a stationary contact surface that encompasses the spring rod, so that the lever carrying the clamping jaw is pulled in the clamping direction, i.e. the clamping jaw is pressed against the associated strip at the end of the plate and the plate is thus tensioned.
To loosen the plate tension, an eccentric disk assigned to each of the tensioning levers is used, which presses against the tensioning lever when rotated accordingly, swivels it against the action of the double springs and thus brings the clamping jaw out of contact with the stiffening strip attached to the plate end.
The known clamping devices with direct tension via screw drives or the like. Have the disadvantage that the clamping forces exerted on the plate ends cannot be kept the same size at all clamping points and the clamping force can become too great, especially when the plate ends are suspended on pins of the clamping flaps. so that panels tear perforations.
The previously known, with spring tension work the devices have the defect that the spring presses together in the relaxed position of the clamping flap and thus the spring force is greatest, while the spring in the clamping position of the clamping flap is partially relieved and the spring force with increasing displacement of the Clamping flap decreases, the clamping force acting on the plate thus being reduced.
The purpose of the invention is to eliminate in particular the special defects that adhere to the devices acting under spring force.
The object of the invention is to create a spring-force-operated, structurally simple clamping device for flexible pressure plates, in which the maximum of the spring force acts in the clamping position of the clamping flaps.
The clamping device for flexible printing plates used to solve this problem has two swiveling clamping flaps arranged in mirror image of one another in a pit of the printing plate receiving the printing plates and having an angular cross section over their entire length, one leg of which is the holding means for the plates ends wearing, while attacking the means used to tension the plate on its other leg.
According to the invention, the pivotable clamping flaps are each mounted on an eccentric spindle, while spring means, the pretension of which is adjustable, act on their clamping legs in the direction of rotation of the clamping process.
The invention is explained using a game Ausführungsbei shown in simplified form in the drawing.
The forme cylinder 1 shown in cross section is provided with a pit 2 extending over its entire length, which serves to accommodate clamping flaps 3, 4 that are a mirror image of the vertical pit center plane. The latter can, depending on the bed of the forme cylinder, be arranged several times one behind the other in its longitudinal direction.
The clamping flaps have an angular cross-section partially or over their entire length and are pivotably mounted on the eccentric part of an eccentric spindle 5, 6, which in turn are rotatable by means of a worm drive or the like, not shown, and at least one at their ends Bearing block 7 are carried. The leg of the clamping flaps 3, 4 directed towards the outer surface of the forme cylinder 1 carries hook pins 8 for hooking the perforated ends of the printing plate 9 to be clamped onto the forme cylinder.
Instead of the hook pins 8, the clamping flaps can of course also carry other known clamping or holding means for the pressure plate ends.
In the direction of rotation of the clamping movement, several spring bolts 14, 15, which are under the action of springs 12, 13, press on the clamping arms 10, 11 of the clamping flaps 3, 4, coaxially opposing them, in small brackets 16, 17 each with a stop screw 18 attached to the bearing blocks 7 , 19 attached, which is adjustable in the axial direction of the associated spring bolt 14, 15 bar and optionally fixable by means of a lock nut, not shown, and is used to set the tension of the spring 12, 13 before.
Here too, instead of the springs 12, 13 shown, other known spring elements and means for adjusting the preload can be used.
The pit 2 is finally covered to the outside in a known manner by means of bridging rails 20, 21 supported and fastened on the bearing blocks 7, the outer surfaces of which are adapted to the outer surface of the forme cylinder and are dimensioned so that at the junction of the two bridging rails only a narrow channel for hanging the plate ends in the sunk under the surface of the form cylinder hook pins 8 remains.
To clamp a printing plate on the forme cylinder 1, both clamping flaps 3, 4 are initially in the position shown for the clamping flap 4 in the drawing.
The eccentric spindle 6 has been rotated clockwise around its bearing axis 22 in the drawing so that the leg of the clamping flap 4 carrying the hook pins 8 rests on the bridging rail 21. The corresponding printing plate end is hooked into the hook pins of the clamping flap 4, the plate is placed around the forme cylinder and its other end is hooked into the hook pins of the clamping flap 3, which, as mentioned, is
while after a counterclockwise direction on the drawing rotation of the eccentric spindle 5 is about its bearing axis 23 in the corresponding position shown for the clamping flap 4.
After the BEE made in this way the end of the plate on the clamping flaps 3, 4, the eccentric spindle 5 is rotated clockwise about its bearing axis 23. The clamping flap 3 is here moved by the eccentric spindle 5 to the interior of the Formzylin Feather 1 and at the same time held under the We effect of the spring bolt 14 with its lever arm 10 on the stop 18 in contact. In this clamping position, the clamping flap 3 is shown on the drawing.
The clamping process on the clamping flap 4 takes place in the same way, but with the opposite direction of rotation of the eccentric spindle 6.
As can be seen, in the device described Vorrich the clamping pressure only by a spring force he aims, which grows with increasing clamping distance.
