Fig. 1 zeigt eine schematische Seitenansicht, hauptsächlich im Querschnitt, des Abgabeendes einer Sammelpackmaschine mit einer erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung;
Method for filling a shipping container and device for carrying out the method
The present invention relates to a method for filling a shipping container with two or more successively arriving stacks of filling goods, which are removed from an uninterrupted, step-by-step feed advancing with the stack length as the respective feed, and wherein the shipping container is guided towards the incoming stacks.
The invention also relates to a device used to carry out this method, consisting of a stationary frame on which the stacks of filling goods are advanced step by step with the length of the stack as the respective advance to a dispensing end of the frame, and a guide piece arranged at the dispensing end for the stacks of filling goods, with a holder for the shipping container for its movement towards and in the filling direction.
In a conventional multipacking machine, the objects to be packed are fed in step-by-step in the form of a series of stacks, each stack consisting of layers of the objects placed one on top of the other. These stacks are introduced into a suitable crate, box or packaging container in that this container is slipped onto the delivery end of the stationary frame over which the stacks are pushed, usually in a horizontal direction. According to the capacity of the container it is filled after a number of successive stacks of the objects have been introduced into the container, whereupon the filled container is removed from the frame and removed, while an empty container has to be attached to the dispensing end of the frame for filling.
Since these case packing machines operate at high speeds, the time available between the insertion of the last stack, which completes the contents of a container, and the subsequent feeding of the next stack can be too short to remove the filled container and through an empty one Replace container. However, a high operating speed is usually the decisive feature of such multipack machines.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a new method for introducing two or more stacks of filling goods, which are moved stepwise in a row, into a shipping container.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device with which the method of filling can be carried out and which does not have the disadvantages mentioned above.
According to the invention, the method for filling consists in that, prior to the filling process, the stacks forming a strand advance together on a predetermined path during one or more feeds, and then with a further feed a certain number of stacks by their own feed movement and the simultaneously occurring, opposing movement Movement of the shipping container is pushed into this, wherein the shipping container is moved by a distance that is equal to the total length of the goods introduced during a filling process, reduced by one stack.
According to the invention, the device for carrying out the method consists in that the guide piece is arranged such that it can be moved back and forth telescopically with respect to the delivery end of the stationary frame, so that it either forms an extension of the frame or is in a retracted position relative to the frame end, wherein the retraction movement of the guide piece takes place in a timed manner with the step-by-step advancement of the stack of contents so that it takes place simultaneously with or immediately after certain, regularly recurring feed steps that are separated from one another by at least one feed step in between, and devices are provided as holding devices that the Hold the shipping container so that it goes back and forth with the guide piece,
in order to accommodate at least two stacks of filling material with each return movement of the guide piece. For example, the guide piece can be designed as a sleeve-like part with a slightly larger cross section than that of the stacks of filling goods.
The amplitude of the back and forth movement of the guide piece and expediently also the timing of the retraction movements therefore depend on the number of stacks that are to be introduced into the shipping container with each retraction of the guide piece. If z. B. the guide piece is withdrawn over a distance corresponding to the length of a stack during every second advance of the row, then two stacks of filling material can enter the container with each retraction of the guide piece. If, however, the guide piece is withdrawn over a distance corresponding to two stack lengths during every third advance of the row, then three stacks of contents can enter the container with each retraction of the guide piece.
Correspondingly, four stacks can be introduced by retracting the guide piece over three stack lengths during every fourth advance of the row and so on as is practically expedient, the guide piece expediently having a length which is adapted to its respective use.
The guide piece can be moved forward from its retracted position into its extended position before or during the next advance in the row, which follows a retraction movement of the guide piece.
The method described above can be changed to the effect that the container and the sleeve-like guide piece are returned to their starting position after the filling process and the process is repeated until the foremost stack of contents touches the bottom of the container.
Devices provided for moving the sleeve-like part from its retracted position into the position in extension of the stationary frame can be adapted such that this process is carried out before or during every second advance of the row of stacks of products.
An example embodiment of the device, which is used to carry out a form of implementation of the inventive method, will now be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings, for example:
1 shows a schematic side view, mainly in cross section, of the delivery end of a case packing machine with a device according to the invention;
2, 3 and 4 schematically show three different steps in the loading of a container.
In Fig. 1 a multipack machine 1 is shown, for example, the packaged objects 3, as they are dispensed from a packaging machine, transferred in stacks of 5 objects on top of each other, whereupon these stacks in a row in the horizontal direction of the respective following stack by one Stack length can be advanced. In Fig. 1 a sleeve-like part 2 is shown as a guide piece, which represents an extension of the fixed horizontal frame 5, the part 2 being moved back and forth by a cylinder, piston and lever system 2a. A packaging container 4 with open closure flaps is pressed against the part 2. In the example shown, the container 4 is so large that it can be loaded with two stacks of contents, i. H. with ten of the packages shown 3.
In FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 the sequence of the individual steps can be seen through which the container 4 is charged. Fig. 2 shows the position in which the loading of a container has just ended, the part 2 being in its extended position with respect to the frame 5 and the filled container having just been removed. Between this position and the next movement of the stack row as shown in Fig. 3, an empty container 4 is placed on the outer (right) side of the part 2, corresponding to the position in Fig. 1. Simultaneously with the next feed of the row confirm synchronizing Devices to move the cylinder, piston and lever system 2a around the part 2 to the left, so that it is withdrawn around the frame 5.
The container 4, which is kept pressed against the part, either mechanically or by hand, is then moved together with the part 2 to the left. The position shown in FIG. 4 is now reached, in which the container is completely loaded with two stacks of contents.
Immediately following this inward movement of the part 2, the control means 2a move the part 2 and thus also the loaded container outwards again. This loaded container is then removed, returning to the position shown in Figure 2, after which the same sequence is repeated.
An empty container therefore only needs to be presented at every second advance in the series.
If part 2 were twice as long as shown in the drawings, and the amplitude of its back and forth motion corresponded to the length of two stacks, then of course the movement of part 2 to the left would only have to be carried out with every third advance of the row and it would three stacks are inserted into the container at a time. Accordingly, four, five or even more stacks could be introduced for each corresponding predetermined, regularly recurring return movement of the part 2.
The operator or the machine who removes the full shipping containers and replaces them with empty ones is thus given sufficient time for this work without the performance of the packaging machine being impaired.
