Power clamp, especially for grounding and short-circuiting a line The invention relates to a high-voltage clamp for attaching to a line, in particular for grounding and short-circuiting the line, with a head made of insulating material, which has a lateral insertion opening for the line, and with one in the Head transversely to the passage direction of the insertion opening slidably guided, metallic clamping piece, which can press the line against an inside of the insertion opening under the pressure of a spring.
A terminal of this type is primarily used to ground and short-circuit a line when work is to be carried out on it, for which purpose a conductor extends from the terminal that is connected to earth on the one hand and to other similar terminals on the other hand Phases of the network.
In such a known terminal the Einfüh approximately opening in the head with a metallic Ausklei extension provided and the metallic walls of the clamping piece are accessible from the insertion opening in the rest position of the terminal. When handling the clamp in a poorly accessible place, e.g. In a distribution system, it can happen that the head of the clamp comes into contact with other energized lines and these energized lines enter the entry opening of the head.
It is an undesirable contact between the live lines and the metallic, connected to the outgoing conductor to earth parts of the terminal brought about, which can cause a damaging formation of arcs ver the terminal.
To avoid this disadvantage, the invention proposes that the high-voltage terminal of the type mentioned above is designed such that the head consists entirely of insulating material that the clamping piece, except at its end containing the end face to be applied to the line, is surrounded by an insulating jacket and that in the head, on said inside of the insertion opening, a recess adapted to said end of the clamping piece is attached.
This design of the high-voltage terminal means that even in the rest position of the terminal, i.e. when the clamping piece rests against the upper inside of the insertion opening of the head, no metallic parts are accessible from the insertion opening, so that the contact between the head and a live line is not harmful even when handling poorly accessible places.
Preferably, the head is connected to a longer tube, at the lower end of which a hand lever is pivotably mounted, which pulls the clamping piece back against the pressure of the spring from the insertion opening in the head via a rod. The longer tube makes it easier to handle in hard-to-reach places, so that a line can also be reached at a distant point, even if the clamp has to be passed close to other live lines. The clamp can be easily opened by operating the hand lever with one hand, i. the clamping piece can be withdrawn in order to clamp the line between it and the upper inside of the insertion opening after releasing the hand lever.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through a power terminal according to the invention in a central position and Fig. 2 is a cross section along the line II-11 in Fig. 1. The head 1 of the Power clamp has a lateral insertion opening 2. In the head 1, the metallic clamping piece 3 is slidably mounted in a longitudinally extending hole. The clamping piece 3 is under the pressure of a spring 4 which is supported against the abutment 11.
The front end 5 of the clamping piece 3 is left free, while the remaining part of the clamping piece is surrounded by an insulating jacket 6. On the upper inner side of the insertion opening 2 of the head 1, a recess 7 is provided which is adapted in shape to the front end 5 of the clamping piece 3. The head 1 of the clamp merges into a longer insulating tube 8, at the lower end of which a hand lever 9 is fastened to an end part 12 by means of a pivot bearing 13. A conductive rod 10, which is connected at one end to the clamping piece 3, extends through the tube 8. In the lower part of the tube 8 and in the end part 12, an insulating sleeve 14 with a wider collar 15 is slidably mounted. The arm 16 of the lever 9 is supported against the inside of the collar 15.
In the insulating sleeve 14 a metallic sleeve 17 is fixedly mounted, which on the one hand the rear end of the rod 10 and on the other hand the conductive core 18 of the outgoing conductor 19, e.g. of the earth and short-circuit conductors.
In the rest position, i.e. when the lever 9 is losgelas sen, the clamping piece 3 is pressed by the compression spring 4 against the upper inside of the head 1, so that the front free end 5 of the clamping piece 3 lies in the recess 7 of the head. In this position the head of the clamp is insulated on all sides, i.e. there is no metallic part accessible from the insertion opening 2, which enables an absolutely safe to touch handling of the clamp.
To operate, i.e. When the clamp is opened, the hand lever 9 is moved towards the tube 8, whereby the arm 16 pushes the collar 15 of the insulating sleeve 14 back and the clamping piece 3 is withdrawn from the insertion opening 2 against the pressure of the spring 4 via the metal sleeve 17 and the rod 10 . When the (not shown) line to which the clamp is to be set is inserted into the opening 2, the hand lever 3 is released, whereby the line between the front end 5 of the clamping piece 3 and the upper inside of the insertion opening 2 of the Head 1 clamped and is grounded or short-circuited via the clamping piece 3, the rod 10, the metallic sleeve 17 and the conductor 19.
