Conveyor belt scale
The invention relates to a conveyor belt scale in which one of the rollers or roller stations carrying the conveyor belt is connected as a weighing roller to a weighing device and is only movably supported in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the conveyor belt. Such conveyor belt scales, generally referred to as single roller belt scales, are mostly used when the installation space available is limited. In such a single-roller belt weigher, the weighing roller consists of a single roller or a roller station with several rollers supporting the conveyor belt along a line running transversely to the direction of the belt.
In the case of single-roller belt scales, it is known, in order to prevent the effects of lateral forces caused by belt tension, reaction of the roller friction or the like, or a torque caused by these, which falsify the measured values, to mount the weighing roller on a lever around a level in the conveyor belt and across the conveyor belt Axis is pivotable. With the small deflections of the weighing roller that occur in practice under the load of the material lying on the conveyor belt, a guide that essentially only allows movements in the measuring direction perpendicular to the conveyor belt plane is achieved, as long as the prerequisite made here that the harmful transverse forces take effect in the conveyor belt plane , applies. However, this is often not the case.
In a troughed belt, for example, where the rollers of a roller station are arranged along a line running transversely to the direction of the belt, but are at an angle to one another to give the belt the trough shape, there is no clearly defined effective belt level for the transverse forces. The bearing friction of the rollers is overcome here by the belt at the point where it rests most heavily. If the belt is not heavily loaded, this point is further out and thus higher up than if the belt is heavily loaded, where the greatest contact pressure is in the middle of the trough, i.e. lower. The lever pivot axis of the known arrangement can therefore not lie in the effective belt plane for all load cases. One-sided conveyor belts and one-sided material feed onto the conveyor belt have similar effects.
However, this results in a torque dependent on the roller friction and the belt load, which leads to a falsification of the measured value.
The invention aims to avoid the disadvantages of the known device. It is based on the task of creating a guide for the weighing roller that is independent of the location of the point of application of the harmful transverse forces. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the weighing roller is supported by means of at least two guide elements which are arranged one above the other parallel to the plane of the belt and are essentially flexible only perpendicular to the plane of the conveyor belt. Such parallel guides are already known per se in scales, but there is a different task, namely avoiding lateral movements of a weighing platform or the like.
Details are explained in the following description of the exemplary embodiment shown schematically in the drawing.
In the drawing, 1 denotes a conveyor belt which runs in a known manner over several roller stations. One of these roller stations serves as a weighing roller. It is shown schematically as role 2. The roller 2 is rotatably arranged with the ends of its axis 3 on both sides in a rigid component 4, for example a frame encompassing the conveyor belt 1. The component 4 is guided by a parallel guide consisting of at least two leaf springs 5, 6 arranged one above the other, running parallel to the plane of the conveyor belt, in such a way that it and thus the weighing roller can only be deflected in the direction of arrow P. These deflections caused by the load of the material lying on the conveyor belt are transmitted in a known manner to a weighing device and there produce a display corresponding to the load.
The leaf springs 5, 6 are attached on the one hand to the rigid component 4 and on the other hand in a stationary manner.
When using a torsion-resistant frame for the component 4, such a parallel guide is sufficient.
However, both when using a frame and a component 4 each at the two ends of the axle 3, one or more such parallel guides can also be assigned to each of the axle ends. It is also irrelevant whether both guide elements of a parallel guide are arranged above or below the conveyor belt, or whether the conveyor belt runs between the two.
Instead of a parallel guide consisting of leaf springs, one can also be provided which consists of rigid links running parallel to the plane of the strip with swivel joints at the respective link ends. Rotary joints that can be used are those with ball bearings, knife edge socket bearings or the like, as can short cross spring joints.
While the forces to be used for weighing in the direction of arrow P cause a corresponding deflection of the weighing roller and thus of the weighing device connected to it, all forces deviating from the direction of arrow P, such as those caused by belt tension, reaction of the bearing friction of the rollers, etc. can occur, derived via the parallel guidance and thus have no influence on the weighing. This derivation is fully effective regardless of the lever arm with which the transverse forces act on the belt or the weighing roller. It is therefore irrelevant in which horizontal plane the effective belt plane lies.
