Detachable connection of two pipe ends The invention relates to a detachable connection of two pipe ends, the pipe-side flange end faces of which are shaped like a truncated cone, with an at least two-part clamping ring, the ring halves of which are approximately circular arc-shaped, articulated at one end and against each other at the other ends by a clamping device are braced.
For the non-destructive detachable connection of pipelines and the connection of pipelines to recipients, pumps and the like are required in particular for operation in laboratories, test workshops and the like flange connections that allow easy assembly and disassembly.
For this purpose, a flange connection has been proposed in which the two pipes to be connected to each other by one of the two pipe flanges encompass the bracket consisting of a single piece are held together together. With such a pipe connection, however, the contact pressure is usually not distributed over the entire flange surface, so that this connection can only be used where greater loads are not to be expected on the connected pipelines and the media flowing through are non-gaseous.
It is also known to connect pipe ends to the miteinan that they are hen verses with small flanges, the back of which is formed as a truncated cone surface. Clamping rings consisting of two approximately semicircular parts, for example with the same inner profile, are then placed over the two flanges of a connection point and clamped together, as a result of which the seal located between the flanges is pressed together. In addition, after the seal is pressed together, the end faces of the two flanges can come to rest against one another or against a spacer ring placed in between, which makes the pipe connection rigid.
It is advantageous to connect the two halves of the clamping rings to one another at one end by a hinge or by a bracket and to provide a screw connection at the other end. Due to the tab connection it is possible to use the same parts for the two clamping ring halves, which results in more efficient production and thus lower costs. When the flange connection is closed and the seal is pressed together, only the two tips facing away from the clamping screw slide on the conical surfaces of the flanges, on an arc of a circle around the pin of the joint.
The disadvantage of this connection is that it is self-locking, i. E. after loosening the tensioning screw does not open itself again, but has to be opened, for example, by knocking or levering it with a screwdriver. The desired advantage, namely quick opening and closing, is thus lost. Furthermore, even with this type of flange connection, the pressure points are not evenly distributed over the flange circle, so that deformations and the resulting leaks must be expected in the event of one-sided loading or if the connection has not been tightened sufficiently.
The invention has the object of specifying a flange connection with at least two-part clamping ring, in which the seal is made by pulling on the clamping ring parts and the disadvantages of the previously known designs are avoided.
The invention is characterized in that the middle curved part of the two clamping ring halves has on the inside middle clamping surfaces which have a double-conical frustoconical profile of at least approximately the shape of the profile of the two pipe-side flange end faces when the connection is in the clamped state,
while the auxiliary clamping surfaces adjoining the central clamping surfaces on both sides have a progressively widened profile, so that when the connection is clamped, only the central clamping surfaces of the clamping ring halves rest on the conical flange faces. With the pipe connection according to the invention, the load is distributed evenly over the entire circle, so that even a one-sided load that may occur cannot lead to leaks.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention He is shown. The figures show: FIG. 1 a section through a pipe connection according to the section line 1-I in FIG. 2, FIG. 1 a a section through this pipe connection according to the section line Ia-Ia in FIG. 2, FIG. 2 a plan view of the clamping ring in the closed state, Fig. 2a is a plan view of the clamping ring in the closed state with more details,
3 shows a plan view of a known clamping ring with details of the four-point connection, FIG. 4 shows a section like FIG. 1, but the pipe parts are omitted and only one clamping half is Darge, FIG. 5 is a plan view of the clamping ring according to the invention in the open state .
The pipe sections 1, 2 to be connected with the flanges 11, 21 are fixed by the centering ring 3 coaxially. The centering ring 3 also has the task of centering the O-ring 4, limiting its compression, bringing the two flanges 11, 21 into rigid contact with one another and making it possible to transmit bending moments by preloading the flange connection. The clamping ring halves 5, 6 are connected on one side by a tab 7 which is hinged to the pin 55.
On the side opposite the bracket there is the clamping screw 8 with the wing nut 9, which is articulated on one eye with the bolt 56 on the clamping ring half 5. Sealing takes place via the round cord ring 4, which is pressed together by the two-part clamping ring 5, 6. The inner profile of the clamping ring total 5, 6 is divided into the sections 51, 52, 61, 62. The middle sections 51, 61 are the surface parts of the clamping ring inner surfaces that come to rest on the conical flanges 11, 21 alone.
They correspond in shape to the profile of the flanges 11, 21 when the O-ring 4 is compressed, while the sections from 52, 62 are the receding surfaces. If the clamping ring 5 is now pushed over the flanges 11, 21, the conical inner profile of the clamping ring 5 slides over these conical flange parts and is pushed further onto the flanges by pulling them together. The cone angle ss of the cone on the inner profile of the clamping ring is smaller than the cone angle a of the conical profile on the opposite side of the sealing surface of the flanges 11, 21.
The area in which contact between the inner surface of the clamping ring and the rear surface of the flange is possible is indicated in FIG. 2a by light hatching.
When loosening the flange pushes after pulling the clamping screw, not shown, of the expanding O-ring 4, the pipe sections 1, 2 from each other, whereby the clamping ring elements slip from the flanges 11, 21 without difficulty. Due to the even distribution of the pressure points (cf. FIG. 3, item 54), there is no jamming, as is unavoidable in previously known designs.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the central and auxiliary clamping surfaces together form a circular ring surface that is closed except for the clearance 63, 64 when the clamping ring is not tightened but is closed, with the large axis of the ellipse lying in the axis of symmetry going from the joint side to the clamping side. In certain areas of application, an elliptical design of the clamping surfaces has proven itself.
In a further useful embodiment of the device according to the invention, the clamping ring halves in the area of the central clamping surfaces are designed with a cross-sectional profile that is more flexible when clamped than in the area of the auxiliary clamping surfaces.
It has also proven useful that the cone angle ss of the clamping surface profiles is smaller than the cone angle a of the corresponding flange profiles, the difference being greatest in section 52 and smallest in section 51.
If the connection according to the invention is used for larger diameters, it may also be advantageous to subdivide the inner profile in addition to the areas 51, 52 into further areas, which are between the areas 51, 61 and 52, 62 and whose inner profile is designed in this way is that a transition is formed between the first two sections.
A variant not shown consists in that the clamping ring is not made in two parts but in three or more parts.
The use of the device does not require any additional structural effort and allows use also in connection with previously known flange designs with clamping rings, since the most important components are designed to be interchangeable, i.e. the device can also be used with existing connecting and flange elements. It is also possible to manufacture the clamping rings economically, for example by pressure molding or injection molding, since tight tolerances do not have to be maintained.
