105, Part A No.22,
Motors-Further Develop- ments in Pole-Amplitude Modulation in den Procee- dings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Vol. 107, Part A, No. 36 December 1960 erschienen ist.
Fig. 3(a) und3(b) sind Schaltungsschemas, welche die Serie-Dreieck-8-Pol-, bzw. die Parallel-Stern-6-Pol- Schaltung der Maschine der Fig. 2 und 1 zeigen.
Electrical machine The invention relates to electrical three-phase AC pole-changing machines.
It is known to provide electric AC pole-changing motors which either have separate sets of phase windings that give alternative numbers of poles, or have a single set of phase windings, with matching connections to the coils, which connections are led to a multiple switch, so that the single set of phase windings can be switched to provide alternative numbers of poles. The most common arrangements provide for alternative pole numbers in the ratio 2: 1 and thus alternative operating speeds in the opposite ratio.
Recently, a new principle has been developed for the generation of alternative numbers of poles in an electrical machine with a single set of phase windings. This principle is known as so-called Pol-Amplitude Modulation and is described in two papers by Professor G. H.
Raweliffe and others, the first of which is entitled Induction Motor Speed-Changing by Pole-Amplitude Modulation in the Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, vol. 105, Part A No.22,
August 1958 and the latter entitled Speed-Changing Induction. Motors-Further Developments in Pole-Amplitude Modulation in the Processes of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Vol. 107, Part A, No. 36 December 1960 was published.
Since the aforementioned publications give a complete explanation of the general theory of pole amplitude modulation, it can be briefly stated here that a three-phase AC machine has a single set of three-phase windings wound to have a first pole number result, can be switched so that they can be connected to an alternative number of poles in a ratio of less than 2
1 can work if a pole amplitude modulation wave is applied to each phase winding, the three modulation waves being 120 apart from one another around the machine axis.
The so-called pole amplitude modulation of each phase winding is achieved by switching successive parts of the phase winding around the circumference of the machine so that the polarity of one part is reversed in the modulated circuit, and one part is its original polarity for each whole Period of the modulation wave. In addition, further means are used to ensure that the amplitudes of the poles in the modulated circuit are not uniform, but rather follow a sinusoidal amplitude distribution in each modulation wave.
For this purpose, one pole can be omitted at one end of each modulation half-period, or the amplitude of both end poles can be reduced, or the machine can originally be wound as a partially punching machine in order to provide a sinusoidal distribution of the pole amplitude for both the modulated and the unmodulated circuits .
The form of the so-called pole amplitude modulation described in the publications mentioned is known as symmetrical so-called pole amplitude modulation, because an identical modulation wave, ie. H. the periodic course of the coil connections is applied to each of the three phase windings, each modulation wave being symmetrical to the center of the phase winding concerned.
This symmetrical pole amplitude modulation method is only used if none of the pole numbers used is a multiple of three.
Switzerland. Patent 433504 describes an even more complicated coil switching arrangement, which is called asymmetrical pole amplitude modulation, which is suitable for machines which have a number of poles that is a multiple of three.
In brief, the method of asymmetrical pole amplitude modulation is to apply a modulation wave to any of the three phase windings as for symmetrical pole amplitude modulation. However, two modulation waves are applied to each of the two other phase windings, which are spaced from one another on the circumference of the phase winding so that in the modulated circuit essentially the waveform of the same resulting magnetomotive force with the same spacing relationship as in the first phase winding is generated.
In all of the embodiments described in the patent mentioned, the method of asymmetric pole amplitude modulation is carried out by reversing selected coils of the phase winding and by omitting or reducing, d. H. the omission of some of the conductors, of selected other coils of the phase winding.
The present invention relates to electrical cal three-phase machines which have two numbers of poles, one of which is a single or a multiple of three.
The purpose of the invention is to create electrical three-phase alternating current pole-changing machines in which the pole switching is effected by the method of asymmetrical pole amplitude modulation and in which all coils of all phase windings in the circuit for one number of poles as well also included in those for the other number of poles.
The known type of machines with pole switching by the so-called pole amplitude modulation method has a three-phase winding which provides a first number of poles of P poles and an alternative number of poles of either (P + M) or (PM) pole pairs , and which has three phase windings which are arranged consecutively around an axis, the electrical phase sequence A, B, C and phase band sequence + A, -C, + B, -A, + C, -B a reference sense of rotation about this axis define which phase bands have coils connected to each other in each phase winding in order to obtain 2 P poles, means being present
to connect selected coils in an alternative manner to modulate the relative amplitudes of the 2 P poles according to three pole amplitude modulation waves applied to each phase winding spaced apart, each pole amplitude modulation wave having M periods of alternating positive and negative parts which follow one another, which positive and negative parts are determined by reversing the polarity of the poles of the negative part relative to the poles of the positive part, the spatial distance of the mentioned pole amplitude modulation waves being so that their beginnings lie at three points,
which are essentially a third of a revolution about this axis apart, the sequence of the pole amplitude modulation waves at the three distant points in the phase sequence A, B, C or in the phase sequence A, C, B in the aforementioned direction of rotation , since the alternative number of poles is (P + M) pole pairs or (PM) pole pairs.
The present invention relates to a rotating electrical machine with a three-phase winding for a first number of poles and a second number of poles, in which either the first or the second number of poles corresponds to three pairs of poles or a multiple of three pairs of poles and the winding consists of three round phase windings arranged one after the other around an axis and each phase winding consists of the same total number of coils, which are connected to one another in a first circuit within each phase winding so that they provide the first number of poles and in a second circuit within the same phase winding supply the second number of poles.
According to the invention, such an electrical machine is characterized in that all phase windings A, B and C have unequal numbers of coils per pole and a phase winding A has a symmetrical distribution of the number of coils per pole, with the end poles of the relevant phase winding halves having fewer coils per pole than the others have, while the other two phase windings B and C have an asymmetrical distribution of the number of coils per pole and the number of coils distribution of phase winding B is the reverse of that of phase winding C and the number of coils N of the coil groups of associated poles of the three phases A,
B and C correspond to the formula NB + NC = 2NA or 2NA + 1, the second number of poles being obtained by reversing the polarity of one half of each of the phase windings A, B and C with respect to the other halves.
For example, embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are described below with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which Tables A. 1 to A.4 numbers for the construction and we effect of seven 8-pole / 6-pole machines indicated, wound on stators with different Number of slots, Tables B. 1 to B. 3 give numbers for the construction and operation of nine 12-pole / 10-pole machines, wound on stators with different numbers of slots, for each of the machines described in Tables A and B above two variants are shown, each of which uses a different coil step.
Fig.l is a disk diagram for the 8-pole / 6-pole machine, wound on a stator with 72 slots, according to Example 1 of Table A. 2, Fig.2 is a slot winding diagram for the 8-pole / 6-pole machine of FIG. 1.
3 (a) and 3 (b) are circuit diagrams showing the series-triangle-8-pole and the parallel-star-6-pole connection of the machine of FIG and 1 show.
FIG. 4 is a disk diagram for the 12-pole / 10-pole machine, wound on a stator with 72 slots, according to example 1 of table B. 1.
FIG. 5 is a slot winding diagram for the 12-pole / 10-po machine of FIG. 4.
At this point it is important to consider the fact that any machine that provides pole switching through so-called pole amplitude modulation has an unmodulated number of poles of 2n poles and modulated pole numbers of (2n + 2m) and (2n-2m) poles , where n is the number of pole pairs for which the winding is originally wound, and m is the number of periods of modulation waves that are applied to each phase winding.
Since the number of poles 2n is provided without modulation and both numbers of poles (2n + 2m) and (2n-2m) are generated by modulation, it follows that each such machine contains one and only one number of poles, which is a multiple of three.
If this number of poles is the eliminated modulated number of poles, leaving two alternative numbers of poles, none of which is a multiple of three, the method of symmetrical pole amplitude modulation is applicable and the present invention does not apply to such cases.
If the number of poles, which is a multiple of three, is one of the alternative number of poles, either as a result of the fact that it is the unmodulated number of poles or that it is the modulated, non-eliminated number of poles, then the resulting number of poles combination is that which in a Machine according to the invention can be obtained.
Further, any combination of the number of poles will result in many different machines depending on the number of slots chosen for the body on which the 3-phase winding is wound. Still other variants emerge from the description below.
Obviously, it is inexpedient and unnecessary to write all possible embodiments of the invention. Accordingly, two tables with information for machines with two pole number combinations have been drawn up. Each table contains information for windings on stators with different numbers of slots for the number of poles concerned.
One example has then been selected from each table for a complete description, indicating the appropriate slice diagram, slot winding diagram and circuit diagram.
Accordingly, tables A. 1 to A.4 are four parts of a single table A, which specifies the construction of seven machines which have 8 poles in an unmodulated circuit. With a modulated circuit of the windings, 6 poles and 10 poles are provided with each other. The 10 pole field is eliminated as a result of the selection of the phase winding sequence and the effective modulated number of poles is therefore 6 poles.
Table A. 1 (gives the data for 8-pole / 6-pole machines that are wound on stators with 48 slots and 60 slots. Table A. 2 for machines that are wound on stators with 72 slots and 84 slots. Table A. 3 for machines wound on stators with 96 slots and 108 slots and Table A.4 for a machine wound on a stator with 120 slots The number of slots is given at the top of the table.
In the example of Table A. 3 with 108 slots, the number of coils NB and Ne in the corre sponding coil groups of phases B and C is approximately twice the number of coils N of the corresponding coil groups of phase A, i. H.
4 + 1 is equal to 2 X 2 + 1 6 + 7 is equal to 2 X 7 - 1. Therefore, NB + NC = 2NA 1.
All the machines described are Teillochma machines with coil groups of different coils pay for poles of the same phase and different coil grouping for each of the three phases.
The grouping of coils is indicated one after the other for each pole on the machine circumference for each of the three phases A, B and C under the common heading Phase group rug. The specified order is read clockwise from the neutral line.
The next line of the table gives under the designation total modulation period the entire course of reversed coils, which are obtained by the modulated circuit independently of the phase windings in question. The given sequences are taken from the neutral A-phase line and extend clockwise over half of the circumference of the machine. This sequence can be seen in schematic form for the example of the stator with 72 slots in FIG.
Next, five values are recorded which relate to the unmodulated 8-pole series delta connection of the phase windings.
Next, the corresponding five values are recorded which relate to the modulated 6-pole parallel-star connection of the phase windings.
The remaining digits of the table are divided according to the two alternative embodiments defined by the coil used. The coil pitch is in each case defined as a number of grooves.
Chord and winding factors are given for both variants and for both numbers of poles. The 22-pole harmonic number is given for both variants.
The final values are given as the ratio of the 8-pole flux to the 6-pole flux, whereby alternative series-triangle-8-pole and parallel-star-6-pole connections are assumed.
Fig. 1 is a disk diagram that defines the phase windings of the 8-pole / 6-pole Mas, chine, which are wound on a body with 72 slots and the example 1 of Table A. 2 forms.
The clockwise phase sequence is A, B, C, which defines a phase band sequence + A, -C, + B, -A, + C, -B in the same sense as shown in the diagram.
The neutral lines for phases A, B and C are indicated, they show the phase start sequence as A, C, B clockwise.
From the aforementioned known theory of so-called pole amplitude modulation, and from the fact that each phase is modulated by a single-period modulation wave, it is known that the modulated pole numbers that are generated simultaneously by the modulated circuit, in the example according to Fig. 1 is 6-pole and 10-pole. The selected initial phase sequence shows that the higher number of poles is eliminated in order to leave the lower number of poles.
The number of coils in each phase band is shown by the innermost circle of numbers. The phase band notice is shown in the next outer circle.
Thus the coil grouping is clockwise from the neutral line of phase A: B.3, + A.2, -C.5, + B.1, -A.4, + C.3, etc. These characters correspond the coil grouping symbols in Table A.
A thick circumferential line encloses the phase bands which are reversed in the modulated circuit and excludes those phase bands which remain connected as in the unmodulated circuit.
The thick circumference itself defines a cyclical course of the coil reversal, the 7 half waves on half the circumference, i.e. H. 14 half-waves over the entire circumference. The outer circle of characters shows the number of coils for each half-wave of this entire modulation course. It should be noted that the half waves are not quite regular, but are symmetrical over the entire circumference.
The disk diagram of Fig. 1 relates to both coil pitch variants of either 12-slot coil pitch or 13-slot coil pitch from Table A.
FIG. 2 shows the slot winding diagram of the 8-pole / 6-pole machine variant which uses the 12-slot coil pitch.
The groove numbers are shown in the figure above. The phase band coil groupings are shown below and correspond to the digits given in Fig. 1 beginning at the top or bottom of the diagram with phases band + A and clockwise movement. The phase bands in brackets are those which are reversed in the modulated circuit, as is also shown in FIG.
The phase winding A is shown in full lines, the phase winding B in dashed lines and the phase winding C in X lines.
The windings are numbered near the end terminals and the terminals are numbered and show the end terminals and center tap for all three phase windings.
The windings and terminals are numbered according to Fig. 3 (a) and 3 (b), in which the series-triangle-unmodulated 8-pole and the parallel-star-modulated 6-pole circuits are shown.
In Figures 3 (a) and 3 (b), the feed conductors 41, 42 and 43 to the three phase lines L1, L2 and L3 are shown.
In Fig. 1 and 2 it should be noted in particular that all coils of all phase windings are connected for both the unmodulated 8-pole and the modulated 6-pole circuits. The omission of coils in both modulated circuits, as is required in the known designs, with the corresponding arrangement of the omitted coils in a phase winding branch is avoided by the present invention.
Thus, the simple series / parallel connection of each phase winding can be used for the unmodulated and modulated circuits as shown in FIGS. 3 (a) and 3 (b). This feature identifies all of the examples of the present invention given in Table A.
Tables B. 1 to B. 3 are three parts of a single table B which describes the construction of nine machines with 12 poles in unmodulated circuit. In the modulated circuit of the windings, 10-pole and 14-pole are generated. The 14-pole field is eliminated as a result of the choice of the phase winding sequence and the effective modulated number of poles is therefore 10 poles.
Table B. 1 lists the data for 12-pole / 10-pole machines which have stators wound with 72 slots, 84 slots and 96 slots. Table B. 2 for machines wound in bodies with 108 slots, 120 slots and 132 slots and Table B. 3 for machines wound in bodies with 144 slots, 156 slots and 168 slots. The number of slots is shown at the top of the table for each machine.
All machines described have coil groups with different numbers of coils for poles of the same phase and different coil groupings for each of the three phases.
Under the heading coil group arrangement, the coil grouping is indicated one after the other for each pole around the machine perimeter for each of the three phases A, B and C. The specified sequences are read clockwise from the corresponding neutral phase line. The sequence extends over half the perimeter of the machine and is repeated identically for the second half perimeter.
The next line in the table gives under the heading Total modulation wave for half the circumference the entire periodic course of the number of reversed coils per coil group of the modulated circuit, regardless of the phase windings concerned.
The given sequence starts from the neutral line of phase A and extends clockwise around half the machine perimeter. The sequence is repeated identically for the second half perimeter.
Next, five values are recorded for the unmodulated 12-pole circuit and then the corresponding five values for the modulated 10-pole circuit.
The remaining digits in Table B are divided into two columns for all machines with the exception of the body with 72 grooves. These columns define two variants for each number of slots depending on the coil pitch used. The coil pitch is defined in each case by the number of slots. In most of the examples there are three possible variants, the coil pitches of which differ from one another by one notch. Two versions are possible for the machines with 84 slots and 98 slots and four versions for the machine with 168 slots.
In all examples with three or more coil step variants, the numbers for the borderline cases are given in the table.
If the example of Table B. 3 with 168 slots is considered, the distribution of the number of coils of the first 6 coil groups of one half of each of the three phase windings for the unmodulated 12-pole connection is as follows: Phase A 2 -5-7-7-5-2 (symmetrical) phase B 3-6-7-7-4-1 (asymmetrical) phase C 1-4-7-7-6-3 (asymmetrical) From this it can be seen that 1) phase A is symmetrical 2) phase B is the reverse of phase C 3) the sum of the number of coils NF NC in the corresponding coil groups of phases B and C is twice the number of coils N #, the Corresponding coil groups of phase A, d. H.
3 + 1 = 2X2 6 + 4 = 2X5 7 + 7 = 2X7 etc. Therefore NB + NC = 2N1 here.
It should be noted that the shortest or shorter coil step results in the maximum winding factor and thus the maximum breakdown torque, but the shortest coil step results in the largest percentage of 17th harmonics and thus the lowest starting torque. The largest or larger coil step results in the minimum content of the seventh harmonic. The 12-pole and 10-pole winding factors and the content of the 17th harmonic when working with 10 poles are specified for each coil step variant.
The final number expresses the ratio of the 12-pole flux to the 10-pole flux, if series-triangle connections are assumed for 12-poles and parallel-star connections for 10-poles.
Fig. 4 is a disk diagram defining the phase windings of the 12-pole / 10-pole machine which is wound on a body of 72 slots, which forms Example 1 of Table B.
The clockwise phase sequence is A, B, C, which defines a phase band sequence + A, C, + B, A, + C, B in the same sense as shown in the diagram.
The neutral lines for phases A, B and C are indicated and show the phase start sequence as A, C, B clockwise.
The modulation wave applied to each phase winding, i. H. the periodic course of the coil reversal has two half periods. From the known pole amplitude theory, and since the unmodulated number of poles is 12 poles, the modulated number of poles are 14 poles and 10 poles. The initial phase sequence A, C, B is the reverse of the phase sequence A, B, C and it is known that the higher modulated number of poles of. 14 poles are eliminated from the 3-phase field in order to leave the modulated number of poles of 10 poles.
The coil grouping in each phase band is defined by the inner circle of numbers. The relevant phase band is shown by the note in the next circle.
The coil grouping is when moving clockwise from the neutral A-phase line, as can be seen, B.1, + A.1, -C.4, + B.1, -A.2, + C.3, -B.0 etc. according to the coil grouping numbers given in Table B.
A thick perimeter line encloses the phase bands, which are reversed for the modulated 10-pole circuit. The thick circumferential line excludes the phase bands, which remain excited in the same sense for working with 12 poles as well as with 10 poles.
The thick circumferential line itself defines a periodic course of the coil reversal required for the modulation, which course, disregarding the phase bands grouped in various half-waves, has 11 half-waves on half the circumference, 22 half-waves over the entire circumference.
The outer circle of numbers shows the coil grouping in each half-wave of the entire modulation wave, which is defined by the thick circumferential line. The sequence defined by these numbers from the neutral A-phase line in a clockwise direction corresponds, as can be seen, to the sequence given in Table B, total modulation wave for half the circle.
FIG. 5 shows the slot winding scheme, which corresponds to the disk diagram of FIG. 4 for the 12 pole / 10 pole machine which uses a stator with 72 slots, according to example 1 of table B.1.
The number of slots, from an arbitrary beginning selected as phase band + A, are shown in the figure above. Immediately below the phase bands and the coil groupings of the same are shown which correspond to Fig. 4 and the numbers in Table B. The phase bands in brackets are those which are reversed in the circuit for 10-pole work and which are shown in the disk diagram in FIG. The windings show a continuously used winding pitch of 8 slots, i. H. from slot 1 to slot 9, etc. The phase winding A is shown in solid lines, the phase winding B in broken lines and the phase winding C in X lines.
The phase winding halves are numbered near the end terminals and the terminals are numbered to indicate the beginning, center tap and end of each phase winding.
The windings and terminals are numbered according to Fig. 3 (a) and 3 (b), in which the alternative unmodulated series-delta, or modulated parallel-star circuits in this case for 12-pole, or 10 - Poles are shown.
It should again be noted that all coils are the same across the entire machine and all coils are energized in one current direction or the other for 12-pole and 10-pole work. No coils of the circuit for modulated number of poles work are omitted, as is necessary for the previously known machines.
