Apparatus for performing the central perspective of a distant object, and method of operating the apparatus The present invention relates to an apparatus for performing the central perspective of a distant object, characterized by two frames whose faces, always in perfect parallelism, can take variable distances, the front frame carrying a horizontal ruler whose median mark passes through the zero of the graduations marked on its vertical lintels,
a cross-shaped marking, which represents the center of view, being placed in the middle of this strip, and by a couple of small carriages with micrometric and simultaneous movement on the horizontal, upper and opposite strips of the anterior and posterior frames, each of these strips bearing a graduation.
The subject of the invention is also a method for activating the apparatus, characterized in that, after having searched through the viewfinder of the front frame, the salient points of the object to be reproduced, which are concretized in as much of visual rays, said rays are individualized by the translation of the small mobile carriages and the sliding of the horizontal sight ruler on the rear frame, to determine as many centers of collimation to which correspond, on the tracking scales, well-defined positions, which will be the Cartesian coordinates of points of the perspective that we want to obtain.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, a front side perspective view of an embodiment of the apparatus, object of the invention.
The apparatus shown consists of two frames, one anterior 1, and the other posterior 2, retained at the tops in cubic interlocking by pairs of upper 3 and lower lintels 4. Each of said lines is divided into two parts to telescopic interlocking so that its length is adjustable, so that the distance of frames 1 and 2 is made variable with their faces always remaining parallel. At each lower vertex, of the trihedrons thus formed, is applied a foot 5 with a leveling screw 6 in order to be able to level and plumb the apparatus on a bearing surface.
To the front frame 1 is applied the strip 7 which bears at the center cross marks 9 which can be brought perfectly opposite the centers of the pairs of graduations 10 and I1 drawn on the vertical and horizontal lintels of said front frame.
On the upper side of each frame there is a groove 8 inside which slides horizontally a small carriage 12, mounted on pads with a crosshair viewfinder 13 which slides on the graduation 11.
A small shaft crosses like an axis the lower lintel of the frame 1, projecting laterally and carrying operating cranks 15, by means of the coils 16 and 17 of a control wire of the vertical sliding of another rule 18 mounted on the rear frame 2, provided with a horizontal sight wire. This frame is also provided with graduations 10 and 11 and it carries, like the first frame, the groove 8, the small carriage 19 which carries a vertical rule 20 with a sighting wire.
The equal sliding of the small carriages 12 and 19 is ensured by the connecting cross member 22, the length of which is adjustable with the distance of the faces of the frames 1 and 2.
The vertical cross-section of rule 20 and the horizontal one of rule 18 determine the two rectangular coordinates (ordinate -and abscissa) of the intersection point 21 of the plane of the table formed by the rear frame, with the visual radius considered .
To obtain the perspective of a distant point P, we seek through the viewfinder 9 of the frame 1 said point P by which we can consider a theoretical visual ray uniting the point P with the viewfinder 9. By maneuvering them. levers 15 and by sliding the small carriages 12 and 19, the posterior rulers will move to the mark 21 (given by the crossing of the lines of sight of said rulers) coinciding with the theoretical visual radius which, as we have already seen dit, starts from the viewfinder 9 and arrives at the point P of the body considered.
The rules 18 and 20 will thus allow to read on the graduations 10 and 11 of the posterior frame 2 the values of the coordinates with respect to which it will be easy to trace on a sheet of graph paper the position of the perspective of the point P considered.
By proceeding in this way for other points, we will obtain a series of marks on the graph, the meeting of which will make it possible to obtain the desired perspective which, of course, will also be all the more faithful as the number of points considered is greater. .
It can be seen that the apparatus described may be useful to anyone interested in prospective reproductions.
