In Fig. 8 sind die Motordrehzahlen und der Kupp lungsschliessweg eingetragen, und die Kurve zeigt den ungefähren Verlauf des Schliessvorganges in bezug auf die Motordrehzahlerhöhung.Der Schliessvorgang beginnt bei einer Motordrehzahl von 700 U./min und endet bei1900 U./min. Die Kurve veranschaulicht, dass die Kupplung bereits bei 1000 U./min, d. h. mit einer Dreh zahldifferenz von 300 U./min halb geschlossen ist;
Automatic coupling device for motor vehicles, especially for automobiles The invention relates to an automatic coupling device for motor vehicles, in particular for automobiles, with a servomotor which actuates the clutch and is provided with follow-up control, with the vehicle speed and an on the control piston of the servomotor Gear shift means act. It is known to allow the vehicle speed to act on the control piston by an electromagnet, the switch of the electromagnet being actuated by a centrifugal governor driven synchronously with the vehicle wheel.
The influence of the gear shift means on the control piston takes place via a second electromagnet, which is switched on and off by the gear shift means.
It has already been proposed to have a third influence on the control piston, namely the accelerator pedal position. This does not take into account the fact that in certain operating conditions, such as when starting up on a steep incline or when driving in a column between the accelerator pedal positions, there are temporary strong differences in engine speed, so that at a certain accelerator pedal position, the expected or associated engine speed is not set, but a strongly deviating from the usual, whereby the error-free actuation of the clutch is impaired.
The invention has set itself the task of preventing these disadvantages. For this purpose, she suggests, as a third influence, that the engine speed act directly on the control piston of the servo motor. This can be done, for example, by means of a centrifugal governor driven synchronously with the engine.
Advantageously, the fulcrum of a double-armed lever connecting the pilot piston with the servo piston and causing the follow-up control can be arranged on a second lever, on which the engine speed and vehicle speed then act, whereby the bearing of this second lever can be arranged on a third lever which then acts the gear shift means. With the centrifugal governor, which is advantageous to use and which is influenced by the engine speed, it is advantageous to
to design the flyweights as an oscillating pendulum with a common swivel joint, the center of gravity of the pendulum being at that engine speed in the vicinity of the perpendicular to the shaft of the controller through the swivel joint point at which the coupling closing process is ended. In this way it can be achieved that the vehicle clutch is quickly half closed even with a slight increase in the engine speed above the idling speed, and further closing is then greatly delayed.
In the clutch, therefore, when driving at a little increase in speed, a medium contact pressure can be generated quickly, at which the slip prevents the motor from being braked, whereas it then only closes completely gradually. To achieve this goal, a throttle valve can be arranged in the outlet line of the servomotor, the throttling of which is increased by the centrifugal governor as the engine speed rises.
As a result, the flow rate of the liquid from the servo cylinder can also be delayed and the vehicle clutch can be closed gently and completely.
The drawings illustrate the invention based on an exemplary embodiment, namely: Fig. 1 shows an automatic coupling device shown schematically, with the vehicle coupling open, Fig. 2 to 5 two control levers are schematically Darge, in different operating positions, Fig. 6 and 7 a Flyweight regulator, partly in section, with different positions of the oscillating pendulum and its control member, FIG. 8 shows a curve of the course of the clutch closing process, based on the engine speed.
According to Fig. 1, a three-armed lever 1 for actuating a vehicle clutch, not shown, is under the action of a tension spring 2, which wants to bring the clutch into the closed position. With its arm 3, the lever rests against a roller 4 of a piston rod 5, the piston 6 of which works in a servo cylinder 7 operated with oil.
The servo cylinder chamber 8 is connected via a channel 9 to a control cylinder 10, which is connected to an inflow line 11 and an outflow line 12, in which a pressure relief valve 13 is installed, via which, if necessary, liquid is pumped into the outflow line 12. A throttle valve 14, which is actuated by a linkage 15, 16, 17, 18, is also provided for the discharge line 12. A feed pump 19, which flows in oil or an equivalent medium from a storage container 20, is used to generate pressure.
A control piston 21 is under the influence of a compression spring 22; a lever 23 acts on this piston, which forms a lever group with angle levers 24 and 25. This group of levers is rotatably mounted on a fixed pin 26, the levers 24 and 25 being articulated by a pin 27 and a pin 28 also articulating the levers 23, 25. The lever 23 is connected to the control piston 21 via a link pin 29 guided in a slot and its other end is connected to the piston rod 5 via a further link pin 30 in a slot guide. Only the pin 26 therefore forms a fixed pivot point, whereas the bolts 27, 28 and the link pins 29, 30 can change their position locally.
A tension spring 31 acts on the lever 25, the force of which is greater than that of the spring 22, which therefore cannot change the position of the bolt 28 and the link pin 29 by itself.
This change is achieved through three influences, which are described in more detail later. These rivers are intended to open and close the vehicle coupling with the aid of the servo motor 6, 7, which is controlled by the control piston 21, which has control edges 32 and 33. If the control piston 21 is pushed ver to the right by the lever 23 with the aid of the link pin 29 and under the pressure of the spring 22, the control edge 32 opens the inflow line 11 and the control edge 33 closes the outflow line 12. The line 11 is connected to the cylinder chamber 8 via the channel 9, the piston is displaced to the right under the pressure of the oil and the vehicle clutch is opened against the pull of the spring 2.
To close the vehicle clutch, the control piston 21 is pushed back to the left by the lever 23, whereby the control edge 33 connects the cylinder chamber 8 via the channel 9 with the drain line 12, so that the oil under the pressure of the clutch spring 2 from the cylinder chamber 8 is drained. The servo piston 6 is followed by the movement of the control piston until the control piston is brought into its central position with the aid of the lever 23, in which its two control edges 32 and 33 keep both the pressure and the discharge line closed and the control piston in this new situation remains.
The lever group 23, 24 and 25 is controlled by three influences that come from the vehicle speed, a gear shift means and the engine speed. One of the influences is brought about by an armature 34 of an electromagnet 35, which is connected to a power source 40 via lines 36 and 37 and a switch 38 and an ignition current switch 39. The switch 38 is actuated by a centrifugal governor, not shown, which is driven synchronously with a wheel of the vehicle. As long as the speed z. B. is below 15 km / h, the switch remains open. It is closed at higher speeds.
The path of the armature 34 is adjustable in that the armature is provided with a thread on which a stop 41 can be adjusted and fixed by a nut 42. The remaining air gap 43 determines the path length of the armature, which is provided with a second stop 44. Due to the armature movement, the position of the bolt 27 changes, whereby the control piston 21 is pushed ver.
The second influence for the lever group 23, 24, 25 is exerted by a magnet 45 which is connected to the power source 40 via lines 46, 47 and a switch 48. The armature 49 of this magnet acts on the arm 50 of the lever 24, its path being limited by a stop 51. The switch 48 is closed or opened by a transmission switching means. This can be an element of an automatic shift of the transmission or the shift lever itself, in which the switch 48 is installed as a knee switch. If this magnet 45 is energized, which happens when you switch the gears, the armature 49 rotates the lever 24, thus changing ver against the force of the spring 31, the position of the bolt 27 and the lever 23, whereby the control piston 21 is operated .
The third influence on the lever group 23, 24, 25 is a sliding sleeve 52 of a centrifugal governor, which is dependent on the engine speed.
First, the kinematics of the two double-armed levers 24 and 25 will be explained, which are subject to the three influences. For this purpose, FIGS. 2 to 5 serve, with the parts 34, 49 and 52, the armature 34 and 49 and the sliding sleeve 52 representing the centrifugal governor.
The armature 34 is operated by the speed Fahrzeuggeschwindig, the armature 45 by the gear shifting means and the sliding sleeve 52 by the centrifugal governor from depending on the engine speed. In Fig. 2, none of the three factors are effective and the clutch is open (O). In Fig. 3 acts through the armature 34, the vehicle speed over 15 km / h, whereby the clutch is closed (1/2). In Fig. 4, the engine speed acts through the sliding sleeve 52, whereby the clutch is closed (1), and in Fig. 5, the gear shifting means 49 acts, whereby the clutch is opened independently of the other two control factors (O).
The controller, which is dependent on the engine speed, is shown in detail in FIGS. 6 and 7. On a pin 53 of the shaft 54 of the centrifugal governor driven synchronously with the motor, two oscillating weights 55 and 56 are pivotably mounted and connected to the crosspiece 59 of the sliding sleeve 52 by tabs 57 and 58. The faster the shaft 54 rotates, the more the oscillating weights 55, 56 swing out and the sleeve 52 presses on the lever 25 of FIGS. 1 to 5 against the force of the spring 22.
The position of the pendulums in FIG. 6 corresponds to a motor speed of approximately 700 rpm and that in FIG. 7 approximately to 1700 rpm. The distance between the centers of gravity 60 and the shaft 54 is the distances a-a in FIG. 6 and, in the case of FIG. 7, the distance b-b over a greater distance. In relation to the perpendicular going through the pin 53,
the distance between the centers of gravity is the amount c-c in the case of FIG. 6 and the smaller amount d-d in the case of FIG. 7.
In Fig. 8, the engine speeds and the clutch closing path are entered, and the curve shows the approximate course of the closing process in relation to the increase in engine speed. The closing process begins at an engine speed of 700 rpm and ends at 1900 </ B > Rpm The curve shows that the clutch is already engaged at 1000 rpm, i.e. H. is half closed with a speed difference of 300 rpm;
further closing is then greatly delayed with a speed difference of 900 rpm.
It may be necessary to open the clutch while bypassing the automatic. For this purpose, as shown in FIG. 1, a foot lever 61 is provided, the lever arm 62 of which rests against a stop 63 and is held in this position by a tension spring 64. A push rod 65 is articulated to the lever 62 and has an elongated hole 66 at the lower end in which a pin 67 of the lever 1 is guided. This elongated hole allows the lever 1 to move within the limits necessary for actuating the servo piston 6.
The device works as follows: The engine is started as usual with the ignition current switch 39 closed and first gear is engaged by hand or by an automatic transmission. The clutch is still open, as shown in FIG. 1. To start up, only gas is given and as soon as the engine exceeds the idle speed and comes above 700 rpm, the sliding sleeve 52 presses on the lever 25, as shown in Fig. 4, and the control piston 21 is opened by the lever 23 the outlet line 11 shifted,
whereby by means of the force of the spring 2 of the servo piston 6 moves to the left and the liquid speed from the cylinder 8 flows. This takes place with a delay, since the lever 25 adjusts the throttle valve via the linkage 18 to 15 and thereby the coupling closing process is also delayed and the closing curve follows the curve in FIG. In order to switch the transmission to another gear, the contact 48 is closed by the automatic transmission or the manual shift lever and the arm 50 of the lever 24 is thereby moved with the aid of the armature 49 of the electromagnet 45.
As a result, the hinge point 27 of the double-armed lever 24 is moved, whereby the clutch is opened regardless of the engine speed or the position of the sliding sleeve 52 by moving the control piston 21 to the right. After switching over, the contact 48 is opened, the electromagnet 45 is de-energized and the pivot point 27 is moved to the left again under the action of the tension spring 31 until this lever strikes either the anchor bolt 34 of the electromagnet 35 or the sliding sleeve 52.
During the switchover, the gas is removed and after opening the clutch, the engine speed drops to idle speed. The sliding sleeve 52 of the governor is in its starting position in which it does not press the lever 25. The lever 25 comes after the end of the switching process with his upper leg with the anchor bolt 34 of the electromagnet 35 to the plant. However, the vehicle is driving at a speed of over 15 km / h.
The contact 34 is closed, so that the now energized electromagnet 35 keeps the armature 34 displaced in the direction of the arrow with the air gap width, so that the clutch is only half closed by this stop, even when the accelerator pedal is not is operated, d. i.e. when the engine is running at idle speed. This occurs if a downshift is made on a downhill gradient and the clutch should close again in order to utilize the engine braking. The clutch pressure in this case only reaches a medium value, which is, however, sufficiently high since the clutch only has to transmit reduced power to accelerate the engine. The clutch is fully closed again if the accelerator pedal is pressed again and the engine speed is increased.
As stated above, the closing speed of the clutch is delayed by the throttle valve 14. However, if the engine speed is already increased by pressing the accelerator pedal at the moment the clutch is reclosed, the throttling is reduced so that the clutch closes more quickly, which ensures a particularly smooth and jolt-free reconnection even at high driving speeds.
Due to the slight overlap of the control edges 32 and 33 of the control slide 21, as soon as the engine and thus the feed pump 19 are switched off, the oil flows from the servo cylinder chamber 8 via the drain line 12 and the clutch is automatically closed. If a gear is engaged before the engine is switched off, the parking lock required on steep gradients is activated. In this case, the engine can only be started again with the gearbox in neutral. For this purpose, the foot pedal 61 is provided, with which the coupling can be opened via the linkage 65.
