Orthopedic device The present patent relates to an orthopedic device intended in a particular way to produce the reinforcement of the musculature and ligaments of the lower limbs, more particularly of the. feet, of a human being.
Such a device finds for example its application in all. case where a teenager is affected by so-called flat feet. The usual therapy in such a case is essentially surgical or consists of relatively long and tedious curative gymnastics sessions which are therefore not brought to term.
The invention proposes to obviate these various drawbacks and proposes for this purpose an orthopedic device, characterized in that it comprises two supports intended to be fixed, each under the sole of one of the feet of the patient. 'user and at least one anti-slip member associated with each support by which the device is intended to rest on the ground and which is fixed to the corresponding support by articulation means, the seemingly being arranged so as to produce, during each tilting of the supports relative to said corresponding organ, due to the imbalance of the user leaning on the ground by his lower limbs, a stress on the musculature and / or ligaments of these limbs.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention. FIG. 1 is a bottom view.
Fig. 2 an elevation view.
Fig. 3 is a partial section along III-III of FIG. I.
The device shown comprises a board 1, the upper face of which is coated with a non-slip sole 2 and on the lower face of which protrudes a spherical foot 3 carrying at its lower end a part 4 of elastic material, the particularities of which will be indicated. thereafter. This device is formed of two similar devices each intended to be attached to a user's foot, placed on the non-slip coating 2 by the central part of his plant and held using four straps 5 fixed laterally on the board 1. .
As shown, the piece of elastic material 4 comprises a cap 4a by which it is glued to the foot 3, an appendage 4b projecting from the top of this cap and extending coaxially with the axis of symmetry AA of the foot 3 and of the plate 1, and finally a buffer 4c, of cylindrical shape and constituting the non-slip member of the device by which it presses on the ground when it is used by the user.
As the surface of the pad 4c is relatively small, it will be particularly difficult for the user to maintain a position in which the resultant of the weight effort supported by each of his legs passes through the axis AA previously indicated or, altogether case, very slightly next to this axis placed inside the zone delimited by the surface of the buffer 4c.
If therefore this resultant is eccentric with respect to the axis A, A, it will create a torque tending to make the device, and of course the user's foot, pivot around the pad 4c, by bending the portion 4b of the part 4. The complete tilting of each of the two devices forming the device can obviously only be avoided if the user opposes it by his muscles of the feet or of the lower part of his legs, which will in the long run have the effect to strengthen precisely these muscles, even ligaments.
In a variant not shown, each of the devices could be fixed directly under the sole of a shoe, for example by means of screws, in a manner analogous to what is done in the case of skates. ice cream.
In another variant, the elastic part 4 could be fixed to the board 1 by a support different from the foot 3 and in particular making it possible to modify the position of the buffer 4c relative to this plate laterally and / or vertically.
In a third variant, also not shown, the elastic part 4 could constitute the end part of a block of plastic rubber directly fixed to the board 1.
The elastic part could also be placed at the end of an inflatable enclosure fixed to this board.
Finally, the articulation necessary to create the free imbalance of the device soliciting the muscles of the user could be of any other nature and in particular be formed by a kneecap.
