Grounding contact for rail vehicles The invention relates to a grounding contact for the electrical bridging of the axle bearings of rail vehicles that are supplied with electrical energy and transferring the electrical current to the rails via the wheels, which have a sliding contact arrangement with a sliding brush forming a wear part and a wear-resistant mating cone associated with it includes clock, which are arranged axially to the wheelset, and whose contact surfaces are under spring load against each other.
So far, it has been customary for such grounding contacts to rigidly connect a sliding contact element, usually the wear-resistant mating contact, to the axle or to use the associated end face of the axle directly as a mating contact surface, and the spring-loaded contact element, usually the sliding brush to guide on the contact housing, which is either held directly on the axle bearing housing or rotatably guided on the part connected to the axle and held in a rotationally fixed manner by a support rod.
The previously realized basic arrangement with a fixed with the axis and a ver slidably mounted on the contact housing contact element requires that the contact surface zone in which the contact elements slide against each other is relatively deep in the housing. Therefore, there are no sufficient storage spaces available for the abrasion occurring on the contact surfaces, so that the operational reliability or durability is reduced. Furthermore, the monitoring, in particular the replacement of the grinding brushes forming the wearing parts, is tedious because the contact arrangement has to be largely dismantled for this.
In some cases, the known versions of the axially upstream grounding contacts upstream of the wheelset are not satisfactory in that it would be desirable in addition to the ground contact with the axle journal of the wheelset via an auxiliary shaft to couple additional devices for vehicle operation such as brake pressure regulators and the like. The invention has for its object to improve the operational reliability and durability by providing sufficient escape spaces for the abrasion and to simplify the monitoring and in particular the replacement of the used grinding brushes in He making contact arrangements of the type described above.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the mating contact is supported on the axle via the spring arrangement and the grinding brush is held fixed to the housing. With this basic arrangement, which differs from the known grounding contacts, the contact surface area is relocated in the vicinity of the front face of the housing, where there are sufficient receiving spaces for the wear and tear that occur during intended use.
Furthermore, the monitoring is simplified because the contact surface area is now close to the front end of the housing, so that the grinding brush, which forms a wearing part, can also be easily replaced. Such assembly work is also more convenient, as the necessary flexible conductor arrangement between the wear-resistant, d. H. practically hardly ever exchangeable mating contact and its holder runs.
The invention can be realized in various ways. It is advisable for a simple training to attach the brush directly to a front-side release ble housing cover. The displaceable mating contact can be arranged in various ways. To guide it, an axially extending guide member can be attached to the front end of the wheel set.
This can be designed as a sleeve that includes the Federan arrangement and the guide part of the mating contact. The sleeve can, if necessary, if the axle bearings are arranged between the wheels in the wheel set, support bearing elements such as roller bearings on the outside that guide the contact housing. As already mentioned, in this case the contact housing is held non-rotatably by a support rod. It is also advisable, if necessary, to make the contact arrangement ring-shaped and to encompass an auxiliary shaft that penetrates it right through the axis and is non-rotatably connected to the wheel set.
An axle journal can then be equipped with an earthing contact and also drive devices via the auxiliary shaft. The number of earthing contacts that can be attached to a vehicle is therefore not limited in this respect. A particularly simple design also results when the grounding contact arrangement is combined with the auxiliary shaft arrangement. The auxiliary shaft can serve as a guide for the mating contact.
With such arrangements it is in turn expedient in some cases either to leave a relatively large amount of play in the guide or to support the mating contact via spherical surfaces that allow automatic alignment corrections in order to compensate for misalignments caused by manufacturing tolerances and the play of the axle bearings.
In order to further improve the operational safety of the grounding contact, it is advisable to set an end region of a hose-like flexible and relative longitudinal displacements of the end regions permitting seal on the sliding mating contact and a part fixed to the wheelset that covers the guide. In this way, the risk can be countered that the longitudinal displaceability of the mating contact is impaired by abrasion particles that have penetrated into the guide. Seals of the intended type do not wear and are not dependent on specific system pressures.
In addition, there is no friction that could affect the mobility of the mating contact. It is particularly expedient to design the seal as an inverted hose with tubular wall parts that overlap one another. The end areas of a seal are expediently assigned special tensioning elements in order to ensure a permanently firm and sealing fit. The assembly is hardly made more difficult by such seals, since the mating contact arrangement to be equipped with the seals is practically not subject to wear and thus does not need to be replaced.
In the case of sleeve-shaped guides in particular, a seal configured as an inverted tube or the like is sufficient if the sleeve is arranged to be closed on the bottom or is pot-shaped. In other constructions, it may be necessary to reliably cover both ends of the guide each with a seal such as an inverted tube arrangement.
In order to exclude wear and abrasion particles as much as possible within the guide area closed by at least one seal, it is advisable to measure and arrange the above-mentioned seal as the torsional stresses of the counter contact on the axis supporting element. Then it is not necessary, as in the known constructions, to see the slidably guided contact element to accommodate the torque resulting from the friction on the contact surfaces with a non-circular profiling of the guide arrangement, preferably a feather key. Experience has shown that such feather keys are often subject to considerable wear.
This can be avoided by additionally using the seal firmly clamped on both edges for torque transmission.
The subject of the invention is shown in exemplary embodiments in the drawing. They show: Fig. 1 a grounding contact arrangement in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 in the same representation a modified execution, Fig. 3 in the same partial representation of a further implementation of the grounding contact.
The embodiment according to FIG. 1 is based on a wheel set in which the axle bearings indicated by dash-dotted lines sit outside the wheels, d. H. cooperate with axles protruding over the wheels. A cup-shaped sleeve 14, which has a connecting flange 15 and a closed base 16, is screwed to the front end of the journal 12 guided through roller bearings 10 in the axle bearing housing 11. The sleeve jacket protrudes with a Be rich 17 on the mounting flange 15 before. The Bo the 16 of the sleeve is a helical compression spring 18, which is supported on the other end against an inner shoulder 19 of a mating contact 20 made of bronze, for example.
This has a jacket 21 which is guided in a sliding manner on the inner surface of the sleeve 14 and a flat head 22, the end face of which serves as a contact surface. Between tween the head 22 and the bottom 16 of the sleeve 14 he stretches a flexible electrical conductor 23, which establishes a reliable connection. A clamping ring 24 presses an edge area of a seal 25 designed as an inverted tube against the outer jacket surface of the head 22, which is weaker than the jacket 21, the other edge area of which is held by a clamping ring 26 on the outer jacket surface of the sleeve part 17.
The seal consists of elastic as well as rubber-like material and comprises mutually overlapping wall parts, the transition zone of which shifts in the guide 14 when the longitudinal position of the mating contact changes. The seal 25 closes the inner space of the sleeve 14 completely against the ingress of abrasive particles from u. like. from. It also has the task of preventing inadmissible rotation of the mating contact 20 in the sleeve 14, d. H. to transmit the frictional torques that occur on the contact surfaces during intended use to the sleeve 14.
The end face of the mating contact head 22 rests against the end face facing it of a grinding brush 27, which forms a wear part usually consisting of a sintered material mixture, d. H. occasionally needs to be replaced. The brush 27 is attached by a screw 29 to a housing cover 30 by means of a connection element 28 attached to it in the usual manner, which in turn sits by screws 31 on a support ring 33 connected to an insulating ring 32 by rivets. The insulating ring 32 is connected by screws 34 to a cover 35 that closes the axle bearing housing.
The cover 30 has an insulatively supported arm 36 which is used to connect an electrical conductor.
To monitor the contact arrangement, it is only necessary to loosen the cover 30. If necessary, the grinding brush 27, which forms a wear part and is held by the screw 29, can then also be replaced. The effective as a guide interior of the sleeve 14 is reliably sealed, the device you practically does not reduce the mobility of the mating contact. Just like the mating contact 20, the flexible line 23 can also remain in the installed position, so that the monitoring work is significantly simplified compared to the previously known designs.
The embodiment of FIG. 2 is based on an arrangement in which the axle bearings of the wheelset are between the two wheels. In this Ausfüh tion is with the help of a mounting flange 40, a guide sleeve 41 attached by screws 42 at the front end of the wheel hub, with a centering in a recess from the end portion 43 of the axle is provided. The seated on the flange 40, a bottom 44 having guide sleeve 41 leads with its wall 45 a Ge counter contact 20, which corresponds essentially to that of the exemplary embodiment from FIG.
It differs from the fact that, according to FIG. 2, a longitudinal groove 46 is arranged in the outer surface of the displaceable mating contact, into which a feather key 47 attached to the sleeve engages for rotationally fixed support. An elastic ring-shaped lip seal 48 rests against the outer jacket surface of the mating contact head 22 and is held on the sleeve jacket 45 in the region of the free edge. This carries on the outside two roller bearings 49, which lead a housing jacket 50, which has an arm 51 serving to attack a support rod.
A cap-shaped cover 53 is detachably connected to the front end of the housing jacket 50 by screws 52 and centrally accommodates a support plate 54 equipped with a grinding brush 27 which forms a wear part and is detachably held by a nut 55. A further nut 56 is used to fix an electrical lead 57.
With this design, too, there is a large amount of space available for the abrasion occurring in the area of the contact surfaces. In addition, the abrasive brush 27 forming a wear part is readily accessible so that monitoring and maintenance work can be carried out quickly and easily. It is not necessary to dismantle the guide with the spring-loaded counter contact, so that there is no risk of contamination.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 is again based on a wheelset arrangement in which the axle bearings are arranged outside the wheels, d. H. cooperate with axle journals projecting over the wheels. In this embodiment, a flange 61 is screwed equidistant to the front end of the Achszap fens 60 or the wheel hub, which center carries a pin 62 serving as an auxiliary shaft. This is provided at the front with a thread serving to receive a nut 63 and prepared in the free end area 64 for a non-rotatable coupling with an additional device to be driven, such as a brake pressure regulator or the like.
The nut 63 clamps a ring plate-shaped housing part 66 against the flange 60 via a sleeve 65 pushed onto the pin 62. The housing part 66 is electrically conductively connected via flexible electrical conductors 67 to an annular mating contact 68 made of bronze or the like a helical compression spring 69 is supported elastically resiliently on the housing part 66 and is slidable on the sleeve 65. To seal the rich Führbe, an inverted tube-shaped seal 70 is used at the front, which at one end immovably engages the counter contact 68 and the other end likewise immovably engages the sleeve 65.
Another tube-shaped seal 71 extends between a guide neck 72 of the mating contact 68 and a retaining ring 73, which rests on the housing part 66 under the tension of the spring 69 and is held in a rotationally fixed manner. The flange 61 rotates with the axis while driving, the pin 62 with the Sleeve 65 and the mating contact 68 with the spring arrangement loading it and the seals 70, 71 as well as the housing part 66. The seals 70 and 71 are dimensioned and arranged so that they can transmit torques acting on the mating contact 68, i. H. ensure that the mating contact 68 rotates with the wheel set.
An approximately ring-shaped housing part 74 is screwed to the axle bearing housing and holds a support ring 77 of a wear part forming grinding brush 78 against which the mating contact 68 rests under spring tension on an intermediate wall 75 by means of an insulating insert 76. An electrical supply line 79 is conductively connected to the support ring 77. The housing is completed by a cover assembly 80.
In this version, too, there is an additional space available for the abrasion that occurs on the contact surfaces. Furthermore, despite the arrangement of a sliding contact arrangement upstream of the wheelset, it is possible to drive additional devices via the auxiliary shaft 62. The practically non-wearing spring-loaded and displaceable mating contact 68 is reliably protected against contamination in its guide on the sleeve 65 assigned to the pin 62.
The embodiments shown are, as already mentioned, only exemplary implementations of the invention. This is not limited to this. Much more, many other designs are possible. Details of the illustrated embodiments are interchangeable. In an arrangement according to FIG. 3, a spherical support could be connected between the sleeve 65 and the bearing neck 72 of the grinding brush 68 in order to ensure uninterrupted contact of the contact surfaces even when the pin 62 forming the auxiliary shaft does not run completely smoothly should.
In addition, a crowned support or a relatively large bearing play replacing it could also compensate for elastic deformation of the wheel set arrangement.
