Seal for sectional boilers The subject of the present invention is a seal for sectional boilers against internal overpressure. The prerequisite for this is that the webs at which the individual links meet are sealed gas-tight.
In such boilers it is already known to provide double sealing webs between which elastic sealing cords made of asbestos or hollow sealing rings made of a suitable, temperature-resistant material are inserted. However, these types of seals have the disadvantage that leaks during operation can only be eliminated by separating the relevant links and reinserting seals.
The proposal according to the invention eliminates these disadvantages in that the sealing webs of the individual links are arranged on the side of the links facing the inside of the boiler and that a circumferential sealing cord is inserted from the outside into the gap between two adjacent links.
The sealing cord can consist of asbestos or any other elastic material of sufficient temperature resistance. It is also advantageous if the sealing surfaces of the links resting against the sealing cord are coated with an additional liquid sealant, e.g. B. water glass or red lead, are coated.
In a preferred embodiment, a steel band can be placed over a sealing cord that is inserted in this way, which is tightened tightly with a tensioning device, or instead of the steel band a steel core can be arranged inside the sealing cord, which also enables the sealing cord to be pressed tightly against the sealing surfaces. It is also possible to provide the boiler sections with offset, overlapping sealing webs so that a double seal can be made by sealing the resulting gap on the inside of the boiler with boiler putty and on the other hand sealing the outer sealing web with an asbestos cord. Exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing.
The figures show: FIG. 1 sealing strips of the boiler sections and inserted sealing cord in cross section, FIG. 2 a seal with a steel core and FIG. 3 an alternative design with a double seal.
The sealing webs 1, 2 of the individual link arms 3, 4 are, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, arranged eccentrically in such a way that they lie on the side 5 of the links 3, 4 facing the boiler interior. From the outside, the sealing webs are encompassed by a seal consisting of steel bandage 6 and asbestos cord 7 or asbestos cord 7 and steel core 8. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the sealing webs 9, 10 are arranged offset, the space between the webs 9, 10 being filled with boiler cement 11 and a sealing cord 7, 8 being additionally stretched around from the outside.
