Process for gasification for the purpose of subsequent combustion of liquid fuels, in particular heating oil, and apparatus for carrying out the process Process for gasification for the purpose of subsequent combustion of liquid fuels are widely known and mostly work with special gasification agents, such as steam, and require expensive, heated equipment that for the operation of industrial burners, household burners and the like. Can not be used, but represent large-scale technical systems.
Rather, oil burners, which are known in various embodiments, are used for this purpose. In particular, those are known which consist of a compressed air oil atomizing nozzle and a burner tube connected to the nozzle. The burner tube, which surrounds the flame in the shape of a sleeve, is intended to stabilize the flame.
The combustion process is not significantly influenced by this burner tube in known burners; in particular, the known oil burners of the structure described generally burn with a yellow and often also: strongly sooty flame.
In addition, oil burners are known in which special return chambers or return ducts are connected to the burner pipe and lead some of the combustion products back into the area of the nozzles. Such burners cannot be used for all combustion purposes, and the design effort is considerable compared to the simple implementation with burner tube, especially since the return channels are exposed to high temperatures and consequently highly heat-resistant materials have to be used.
The combustion of the hydrocarbons, in particular of the heating oil with a blue flame, is also frequently unsuccessful in such burners. Oil burners that work with a simple burner tube as a gas burner and therefore burn with a blue flame and can also be operated as a gas generator, which gas is suitable for burning or for operating internal combustion engines or turbines, are not known.
The invention has set itself the task of gasifying liquid fuels, in particular heating oil, in a simple manner for the purpose of subsequent combustion.
The method according to the invention consists in that the fuel is atomized conically in finely divided form and at least one eddy ring is generated by the atomization cone in the reaction chamber, surrounding the atomization cone at least in the area of its origin,
which is ignited in an atmosphere with an oxygen deficit to generate a pre-flame, with a mixture that can be burned with a blue flame in the direction of flow of the atomization cone behind the eddy ring.
The atomizing ball can be generated: by means of pressure oil, atomization or atomization with atomizing agents, in particular with compressed air. The eddy ring can be generated easily by setting the atomization cone in relation to the opening angle and flow speed.
The wall of the reaction space can act as a reflection wall; aids such as flow guide devices can also be provided.
In the context of the method according to the invention, the air required for generating the atmosphere with a deficit of air can be supplied or permitted in various ways. The air required to generate the atmosphere by means of an excess of air can advantageously be supplied as atomizing air.
However, there is also or in addition to the first-mentioned measure the possibility of supplying or drawing in the air through optionally adjustable openings in the reaction space. As a result, the air can be fed to the atomizing cone (fan) or sucked in in a cross or direct current. The. The flow itself takes care of suction.
In any case, the vortex formation can also be influenced by these air currents.
The fuel can be atomized essentially in the axial direction of a reaction chamber serving as a substantially cylindrical, possibly slightly conical tube with an opening angle of the atomizing cone of 10-30 and at a flow rate of about 50m per second to 500m per second will.
The method can advantageously also be carried out with pure oxygen: a particularly hot flame results and devices5 in which the method is implemented can be used as welding torches.
A device for carrying out the method, in particular for gasifying and burning heating oil, consisting of a compressed air oil atomizing nozzle and a burner tube connected to the nozzle, is characterized according to the invention by the combination of the following features:
a) the burner tube consists of a reaction chamber and an orifice part and has a length such that the atomization cone acts on the inner wall of the burner orifice, and is provided with combustion air intake openings in the part between this contact area and the compressed air atomization nozzle, b)
the compressed air atomizing nozzle atomizes the fuel in a conical shape and is designed as an annular gap nozzle with at least one central fuel outlet opening and surrounding atomizing air gap, as well as being set up for an operation in which the atomizing air exits the annular gap at a speed of at least 50 m per second, c) the opening angle (a)
the atomization cone of the fuel is in the range of 10 to 30 degrees, measured against the axis of the reaction chamber and combustion orifice.
The advantages achieved by the invention are primarily to be seen in the fact that gasification of any liquid fuels and in particular heating oil is achieved in the simplest possible manner. The device according to the invention can work as a gasification burner and optionally as a gas generator and has a simple structure. Heating oil and similar hydrocarbons can be burned with a blue flame or a combustible gas can be generated that can be burned remotely.
The device according to the invention as a gasification burner or gas generator is consequently characterized in an advantageous manner by its degree of combustion efficiency and gas generation capacity.
In the following the invention is explained in detail Licher with reference to a drawing illustrating exemplary embodiments.
1 shows a schematic axial section through an oil burner, FIG. 2 another embodiment of the object according to FIG. 1, FIG. 3, also in an axial section, another embodiment of the oil burner.
The oil burner shown in the figures works as a gasification burner and gas generator and is intended in particular for the combustion of conventional heating oil and consists of a burner tube 2, the lower part of which is a reaction chamber, the upper part of which forms the burner mouth, and one in the reaction chamber chamber axially inserted nozzle 6 (compressed air oil atomizing nozzle)
. As indicated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the nozzle atomizes the oil in a cone shape (cone 3). It is, as in Fig. 3 in. individually recognizable, designed as an annular gap nozzle and consequently has a central oil outlet opening 4 in the form of a bore or a pipe and an atomizing air ring gap 5.
In addition, the nozzle is set up for operation in which the atomizing air emerges from the aforementioned annular gap 5 at a speed of at least 50 m per second to about 500 m per second or more. The opening angle α of the atomization cone 3 of the oil is 10 degrees in the exemplary embodiment and can in principle fluctuate within the limits between 10 and 30 degrees.
The angle is measured against the dash-dotted axis 6 of the burner mouth. The nozzle itself is tightly connected to the reac tion chamber, and this is retracted for this purpose in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2 at its lower end.
The reaction chamber and the burner mouth part have such a length that the atomizing cone 3 acts on the burner mouth inner wall, and are in the part between this acted upon area and. the compressed air atomization nozzle 1 is provided with combustion air intake openings 7.
The compressed air oil atomization nozzle 1 consumes about 5% of the stoichiometric amount of air required for the gasification or combustion of the oil for the oil atomization.
The combustion air intake openings 7 are, however, dimensioned such that a negative pressure remains in the area mentioned inside the gasification burner 2, which is generally equivalent to the conditions in which the gasification burner itself has a sub-stoichiometric amount of air.
The ring 16 is used to adjust the amount of combustion air. In addition, in the embodiment according to FIG. 3, adjusting devices for the amount of oil in the form of a handwheel 8 and also for the amount of atomizing air in the form of an adjustable valve 9 are shown. The handwheel 8 works on a needle 10 which changes the size of the outlet opening 4 for the oil when screwing forward or backward.
The valve 9 for setting the amount of atomizing air can be a simple reducing valve or a simple cross-sectional valve. But there is also the possibility of using the ring 11, which has openings 12, to make the adjustment of the combustion air. This then flows through the bore 13 into the distributor chamber 14 and from here to the combustion air intake openings 7.
FIG. 2 indicates that the burner tube 2 can also be drawn in conically towards the mouth; otherwise, it can always be designed in one or more parts. The nozzle 6 can be axially adjustable.
In, Figs. 1 and 2, the operation of the gasification burner and gas generator or the gasification device is indicated. In this way, the atomizing cone 3 produces the finely distributed form. atomized fuel in the reaction chamber in the area of the cone origin, namely between .the area of application,
in which the atomization cone 3 meets the walls of the burner tube 2 and the compressed air oil atomization nozzle 1, z around at least one vortex ring 15, which surrounds the nozzle 1, and in the atmosphere prevailing in the reaction chamber Oxygen acid terschuss is ignited to generate a preliminary flame. Gasification conditions prevail in this preliminary flame,
so that in the direction of flow of the atomizing cone 3 behind the RTIID = "0002.0202" WI = "19" HE = "4" LX = "1505" LY = "2615"> vortex ring 15, the mixture flowing on is combustible with a blue flame, namely off the burner mouth emerges as a blue flame 17 or removed as a combustible gas who can.
The improvement of the combustion and gasification process is thus the result of a two-stage reaction sequence in the gasification burner itself, namely the formation of the aforementioned strongly swirling preliminary flame and the gasification that takes place in it for the oil to be burned, in particular heating oil, so that the gasification products burn with a blue flame or a gas is generated. In fact, it is possible to ignite the gasification burner and gas generator in the cold state,
where the blue flame immediately burns at the burner mouth when it is cold or, depending on the setting, the pre-flame continues to burn alone and a gas flows out of the burner mouth that can be used for a wide variety of burning options. This gas flowing out of the burner mouth can be used to operate normal internal combustion engines or turbines.
It is only necessary to bring this to the necessary air saturation before entering the engine or turbine. In addition, the power and temperature of the gasification burner and gas generator can be varied by measuring the reaction diameter and the total length of the reaction chamber with burner mouth. One of the advantages of the gasification burner and gas generator is its simple mode of operation, which is summarized as follows:
After opening the air regulating valve, the atomizing air stream flows out of the annular gap of the nozzle at a very high flow rate (depending on the setting 50-500 m / sec.). The latter generates suction that is so great that part of the combustion air is sucked in through the combustion air intake openings at a speed below the atomizing air speed.
Due to the relative speed between the atomization air and the sucked in partial combustion air, an aerodynamic rotating vortex is formed in the reaction chamber, which rotates at high speed. After opening the regulating valve for metering the oil supply, the oil flows to the nozzle and is finely atomized by the atomizing air.
The outer edge zones of the aerosol-fine mixture are carried into the aerodynamic vortex and rotate with it at the high speed already described.
Immediately after ignition, the vortex burns, from which it follows that a rotating pre-flame burns in the reaction chamber and, due to its heat, immediately and completely gasifies the injected hydrocarbons that flow through this flame.
With the high turbulence described, the gasification reaction can be completed within a distance of 20 mm with a smaller device. Immediately after ignition, a pure, blue gas flame without a trace of luminous chains flows out of the burner mouth from a cold state or, after changing the relative speed between the atomizing air and the partial combustion air that has been drawn in, a gas,
which can be brought to different degrees of saturation or density by regulating the amount of oil sprayed in. The gas can be used for a wide variety of combustion purposes and is suitable for operating internal combustion engines, vorzüb Lich, since it is not hot. It must be brought to the necessary air saturation before entering the engine or turbine.
