Crimped connection It is common in plumbing to connect fittings such as Taps, safety valves, by means of so-called pinch connections or pinch seal screw connections to connect line pipes.
The smooth pipe is pushed into a cylindrical connection piece of this fitting and a sealing ring is placed on the outer end of the connection piece, which presses against the face of the cylindrical connection piece and the smooth pipe with a sliding ring in between becomes.
Such crimped connections have the major disadvantage that their mechanical strength is extremely low and they become the weakest point in the entire installation system with increased water pressure, or with mechanical stress, e.g. if it is not used as a handle as intended, can be loosened very easily, thus enabling the water to flow out.
In order to avoid these disadvantages, so-called conical pinch connections have also been provided in recent times. In this case, in addition to the sealing ring and the sliding ring, a slotted hollow cone is used, which is pressed against the pipe by means of a correspondingly designed union nut and ensures absolutely secure Festsit zen of the pipe in the valve due to the increased surface friction. However, this arrangement has the disadvantage that they are expensive as a result of the new elements required for this, namely the above-mentioned cone and a matching union nut which differs in shape from the conventional designs.
As a result of this special version of the union nut, existing pinch connections cannot easily be converted into this improved design. In addition, the assembly of the relatively large number of individual parts is cumbersome.
The invention creates a crimp connection in which these disadvantages are avoided. For this purpose, the pinch connection according to the invention for pipe connections, with at least one sealing ring made of elastic material, at least one metallic clamping ring and a union nut, is characterized in that the conical or dome-shaped clamping ring made of non-oxidizing material, which closes when the union nut is screwed down an almost flat ring is deformed,
forms an integral component with the sealing ring.
In a particularly useful embodiment, for example, the clamping ring is vulcanized onto the underside of the sealing ring made of rubber and the cross section of the sealing ring has the shape of a parallelogram. The clamping ring can also be partially or fully surrounded by the material of the sealing ring.
The clamping ring and sealing ring can also be combined with a sliding ring to form a component, the clamping ring lying between the sealing ring and the sliding ring and the latter being able to be surrounded by a protruding edge of the sealing ring. The sliding ring can also overlap the outside of the clamping ring with a flanged edge and thus form a component with the clamping ring and the sealing ring.
The object of the invention is shown in the drawing using exemplary embodiments; It shows: FIG. 1 the parts of a crimped connection in an exploded view in axial section, FIG. 2 the parts of the crimp connection according to FIG. 1 combined to form a component in a central section, FIG. 3 another embodiment in section,
4 shows a central section through a pipe inserted into a fitting before the connection is established, FIG. 5 shows a pipe connected to a fitting by means of a crimped connection according to the invention, and FIGS. 6 to 8 in axial section each another embodiment of crimped connections, which consist of parts combined into one component.
The device shown in Fig. 1 and 2 has the following parts: a sealing ring 1, which is preferably made of rubber and has a substantially parallelogram cross-section, and on its underside has a downwardly protruding edge 5, further a hollow conical clamping ring 2 and Finally, a sliding ring 3. As can be seen from Fig. 2, the downwardly protruding edge 5 comprises the clamping ring 2 and the sliding ring 3 and holds all parts together. Appropriately, the clamping ring 2 is vulcanized onto the rubber sealing ring 1 and so connected to this captive bar.
The cohesion of the three parts can also be achieved according to FIG. 3 in that a sliding ring 3 'with an upwardly projecting cylindrical edge 6 is used which comprises the clamping ring 2 and the sealing ring 1. The hollow conical clamping ring 2 is made of hard, rustproof material, preferably rust-free sheet steel. The sliding ring 3 is conveniently made of brass in the usual way.
To produce the crimp connection, as shown in FIG. 4, these sealing elements, which are combined into one component, are pushed onto the pipe 10 to be connected, this is inserted into the cylindrical bore of the connection piece 11 of the valve and the construction part 4 is then fitted with a union nut 12 , which is screwed onto the threaded connector 14 of the connection piece 11, pressed against the end face 13 of the connection piece 11.
The sealing ring 1 and the clamping ring 2 are largely deformed by, as can be seen from Fig. 5, the cross section of the sealing ring is rectangular and the clamping ring is transformed into an approximately ebe NEN ring. At the same time, the clamping ring is pressed somewhat into the pipe 10, as shown in an exaggerated manner at 15, as a result of which an absolutely secure fit of the pipe 10 in the connection piece 11 is achieved. The solution of the connection is, after unscrewing the union nut, only possible, please include by cutting through the clamping ring with pliers.
Fig. 6 shows an embodiment which has two oppositely running conical clamping rings 2 and 2 ', with a sliding washer 3 is arranged between these clamping rings, but which can also be omitted. All parts are again combined to form a component by a ring 16 with a flanged edge.
Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment in which the sealing washer has a trapezoidal cross-section, and on the underside of which there are also two counter-conical clamping rings 2, 2 'provided. Here, too, the elements are summarized by a disk 16 provided with a flanged edge. As a result of the double arrangement of clamping rings, these two embodiments also have an increased clamping effect.
FIG. 8 shows an embodiment corresponding to FIG. 3, but the clamping ring 2 is cambered in the shape of a dome. This has the effect that the force required to flatten the clamping ring is only lower and only gradually increases to a maximum. The sliding ring can be dispensed with in some cases; on the other hand, a second sliding ring can also be arranged between the rubber seal and the end face of the connection piece.
It is essential that the hollow-conical clamping ring or rings are deformed when the union nut is screwed on and, due to their greatly increased friction on the pipe or a slight penetration into its circumference, enable the pipe to be securely fastened to the relevant fitting.
