Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Gesamtansicht
Fig. 2 die mittlere Ruhestellung,
Fig. 3 die Bürstenandrückstellung,
Fig. 4 die Messereinschlagstellung.
Device for automatically gluing a web of paper or the like running off a roll to a new roll. The invention relates to a device for automatically gluing a web of paper or the like running off a roll to a new roll, in particular for the paper roll change on rotary printing machines, by means of a brush sitting on the arm of a shaft that can be rotated by means of power, and for the subsequent separation of the old web by means of a knife sitting on the arm of a shaft that is rotatable by means of power. Devices of this type are quite complicated and expensive, since the new roll has to be brought up to the speed of the running web and, in addition, the web entering the printing press must be kept under constant tension.
The object of the invention is to achieve a simplification with regard to the actuation and control of brush and knife and thus to achieve savings in power pistons, control elements and power supply lines, which has an advantageous effect in terms of space and price in the overall framework.
The invention consists in that the knife arm on this side and the brush arm on the other side sit on a common shaft and that the power piston actuating this common shaft can be actuated from a central rest position in one or the other direction of deflection by being acted upon by means of appropriate control elements. Brush and knife sit like a horizontal beam on a common actuating spindle and can therefore be brought to their very different use in the desired time sequence depending on the direction of the actuation rotation, for which a separate spindle, power piston and power supply lines were previously required. In the invention, only the power cylinder and the solenoid valve require three instead of two working positions.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows
1 is an overall perspective view
Fig. 2 the middle rest position,
Fig. 3 the brush pressure reset,
4 shows the knife setting position.
The new paper roll 2 and the paper web 3 running off the old roll can be seen on the roll star 1, which is shown here with only two arms. The brush 4 sits on one arm on one side of the spindle 6, the knife 5 on the other arm on the other side on the same spindle 6. The spindle 6 is held via a lever 7 and a piston rod 8 by a piston 17, its position can change within the hydraulically or pneumatically acted upon cylinder 9 in the three positions shown in Figures 2, 3 and 4. The spindle 6 and the associated movement mechanism are mounted on a lever 10 which can be rotated or adjusted about an axis 11.
In the rest position recognizable in FIG. 2, the piston 17 is in its central position, since it is not acted upon on one side by the solenoid valve 16; neither brush 4 nor knife 5 are in use.
If gluing is to take place, the new roll 2 is first brought to the circumferential speed corresponding to the running paper web 3 by a belt (not shown). Adhesives are attached to the new roll 2, onto which the running web is then to be pressed by the brush 4. For this purpose, the photocell 12 is enabled by an electrical switch. During the next rotation of the roller, a mirror 15 attached to the disc 14 rotating with the roller axis 13 throws a light beam back, whereby a solenoid valve 16 is switched to the position of FIG. 3 via the photocell.
In this way, the piston 17 is acted upon by pressure medium on its underside opposite the piston rod; the brush 4 is swiveled and presses the running web 3 against the new roll 2, the glue points of which stick to the running web 3, which thus takes the new web with it from the new roll 2. With the electrical impulse, a time relay has been switched at the same time, which after a certain time switches the solenoid valve 16 back to its central position according to FIG. 2, whereby the brush 4 is also pivoted back again.
With the next control pulse from the photocell 12, the solenoid valve 16 is switched from the rest position according to FIG. 2 to the other deflection position according to FIG. The piston 17 is acted upon on its upper side and rotates the spindle 6 so that the knife 5 strikes and cuts off the old web. The time relay, which is switched on at the same time, brings about the return to the state of FIG. 2 after a certain time with simultaneous blocking of the photocell 12, which can only be addressed again after the intended push-button actuation.
