Spritzgussmasclline
Injection molding machine
The invention relates to an injection molding machine. Known machines of this type comprise a stationary pressure plate, a movable pressure plate and means for moving the latter towards or away from the stationary plate. They also include hydraulically actuated toggle levers, separate hydraulic means which hold the pressure plates in the closed position, and finally a hydraulically actuated ram which injects the casting material through the stationary plate into the mold enclosed between the pressure plates.
It is known that the size of the injection molded part is tied to certain e limits which are given by the hydraulic closing pressure, which must keep the mold closed under the action of the injection pressure. In addition, the various hydraulic means require a very solid machine frame that must be able to cope with the various reaction forces. All of this causes considerable costs. The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages and to provide a better and considerably cheaper machine.
The invention relates to an injection molding machine which is characterized by the combination of a stationary pressure plate, a pressure plate that can be moved towards and away from it, which together enclose a casting die when they are in contact with one another, an injection unit with a ram and a cylinder , which latter is connected to the movable pressure plate and an actuating unit operated by fluid pressure with a piston and a master cylinder, the cylinder of which is connected to the stationary printing plate and the main piston of which is connected to the ram.
of the injection unit is connected, the whole thing in such a way that the press ram of the injection unit actuated by the main piston of the actuation unit moves both the cylinder of the injection unit filled with cast material and the movable pressure plate connected to it towards the fixed pressure plate, pressing them together and during of the injection process of the casting material into the die is kept closed, the effective cross-sectional areas of the press ram and the die cavity being matched to one another so that a sufficient differential force remains, which keeps the die closed.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically, the hydraulic and electrical control circuits also being drawn in a simplified manner.
The machine comprises a frame 1 which carries parallel guide rods 2 arranged at a distance from one another. These serve to axially align a stationary pressure plate 3 and a movable pressure plate 4. The plate 4 is guided by the guide rods and can be moved towards or away from the stationary plate. With the movable pressure plate 4, an injection cylinder 5 is connected, which can join the movement. It is held in any suitable way, for example by means of a sliding piece 6 which can slide on the guide rods 2.
A ram 7, which is connected by means of a rod 8 to piston 9, slides in the injection cylinder 5 and can in turn slide into a master cylinder 10 which is fastened to the frame 1. This main piston-cylinder unit is aligned on the same axis as the pressure plates, the injection cylinder and the ram, and the guide rods 2 run parallel to this axis. The unit 9, 10 is doubly effective and is operated by means of liquid under pressure, as described below. The cylinder 10 is firmly connected to the stationary pressure plate 3 by means of tie rods and bolts, which at the same time form the guide rods 2.
The mold plates themselves can have guide pins and bores, as indicated at 12.
In the closed position, the mold plates enclose a mold cavity, which is indicated schematically by 13. Casting material 14 contained in the injection cylinder, for example a thermoplastic injection molding compound, is injected into the mold cavity through a channel 15 in the movable pressure plate.
During operation, the starting position is the one with the mold plates facing each other and the main piston 9 retracted so far with respect to the stationary pressure plate 3 that the finished injection molding can emerge from the mold, with the ram also being in a retracted position. The injection cylinder is filled with a filling device H and is heated in a known manner. If pressure fluid is passed through the pipe P into the cylinder 10, the piston 9 moves together with the ram, the injection cylinder and the movable platen 4 towards the stationary platen 3 until it rests on it.
If the movement of the piston 9 continues, the ram will move into the injection cylinder and inject the casting material into the mold cavity. After the mold is closed, the same force that closes the mold acts as a reaction force via the cylinder 10 and the guide rods 2 on the stationary plate 3. On the other hand, the piston 9 acts on the ram 7 and the latter transmits a closing force via the casting material and the cylinder 5. onto the movable pressure plate 4. The guide rods 2 transmit the forces so that the frame of the machine does not need to absorb any reaction forces.
The hydraulic and electrical control circuits contain an electric motor 21, which drives a pump 2.2 with low power and a high-performance pump 23, which suck liquid from a collecting container 24 via suitable filters. With the pump 23 a set to lower pressure over pressure valve 25 is connected, which is actuated with a magnet. The mangent is switched on by an end switch Li according to the position of the movable pressure plate.
D. as valve 25 therefore has the effect that the high-performance pump 23 is only effective until the movable pressure plate has moved quickly and with low pressure to approaching the closed position, after which the valve is opened and. the pump is connected to the collection basin. Thereafter, the pump 22 is effective with low power and causes a feed at a reduced speed. A check valve 27 prevents the liquid conveyed by the pump 22 from being emptied via the valve 25.
A pressure relief valve 26 set to high pressure is connected to a remote-controlled valve 2.8. The latter is magnet-operated and controlled by a limit switch L2. The setting is such that the feed takes place at low speed and with low pressure and provided that there are no obstacles, switch L2 then closes in order to carry out the subsequent injection at high pressure.
For example, the first rapid advance by means of pumps 22 and 23 and the subsequent slow closing process with the aid of pump 22 takes place at a pressure of 14.1 kg / cm2, the subsequent pressing pressure, on the other hand, is 141 kg / cm2, which means the pressure behind the ram in the injection cylinder increases to 846 kg.
Further valves are also provided, namely a safety valve 29, which is actuated by mechanical safety devices of a known type attached to the machine. Furthermore, a magnetically operated control valve 30 is arranged, which is controlled by a limit switch Lg.
When the injection process has ended, the main piston 9 must be returned to its starting position, for which purpose through the pipe. R hydraulic fluid is admitted into the master cylinder 10 and pipe P is connected to the reservoir.
If desired, many refinements can be added to the hydraulic and electrical control circuit. For example, the starting position of the master cylinder can be precisely set in both directions by a fine adjustment. By means of a selector switch, either a single press cycle or fully automatic operation of the machine can be set after pressing the start button.
The printing plates are shown in a simplified manner, but it is clear that the various refinements known per se, such as working with different depths of form, can also be used here.
The ejection of the injection molding from the opened mold can be done in any suitable way, since the completely free mold half allows all variants, be it mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or pneumatic, as this is desired for automatic operation. Preferably, however, an ejector rod is used which axially penetrates the stationary pressure plate 3. It is actuated by one or more tie rods which run parallel to the guide rods 2 and, for example, pass through the plates 3, 4 and 6.
At the end they carry a cross piece which works together with the rear end of the press ram 7 so that the ejection takes place automatically when the press ram withdraws.
The ejector rod can be actuated against the force of a spring which pulls it back, or it can be withdrawn mechanically when the pressure plates are closed. The movable pressure plate with the injection molding cylinder is taken along by the press ram when the latter has been pulled out of the injection molding cylinder sufficiently. Arbitrary means such as B.
Serve stops on the ejector rods.
The two pressure plates remain closed during the injection process, because the effective cross-sectional areas of the ram 7 and the Ma trizenhohlraumes 13 are coordinated so that a sufficient differential force remains. Theoretically, this can be achieved in such a way that the cross-sectional area of the press ram is larger than that of the die cavity, so that the required excess force remains with the same internal pressure. In practice it has been shown that this theoretical limitation does not need to be observed.
The friction of the casting material in the cylinder and the hardening of the thermoplastic casting material at the injection opening make it possible in certain cases to use twice the theoretically possible cross-sectional area of the die cavity. The ram actuated by the main pressure cylinder therefore pushes the injection unit filled with casting material together with the movable pressure plate to the fixed pressure plate, closes it and holds it together during the injection process.
During the shooting process, material escapes from the channel 15 because a lost sprue is formed at the end of the channel 15 by means of a short, conical, water-cooled sleeve. If the pressure plates are closed, the high injection pressure drives the small pin into a specially designed recess in the die. As a variant, a known spray valve can also be attached. While the ram is being pulled out of the cylinder, air enters the cylinder along its outer circumference. The outside diameter has enough play in the cylinder bore, but this is not enough to allow the cast material to escape.
